This is the error message received in the Device Manager properties listing for my video card: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" Pertinent info: WIN7-64 bit, SP1, Home Professional; Zotac 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 PCIe 3.0 card; ASRock Z97 OC Formula Mobo. The predominant solution I found on the internet is to uninstall the device using the WIN Device Manager and then use the rescan function to reinstall the video card. After rescanning, the Device Manager does recognize that the GTX 980 is present and changes the message to "This device cannot work properly until you restart your computer. (Code 14). This worked the fi…

  3. I just recently upgraded to a 4k TV and wanted to know what's the best way to hook up 2 displays. Currently I have my 4K TV connected via HDMI directly into my GTX 1080. I have a 30" display that runs natively at 2560x1600, and would like to use it as my 2nd display to run apps such as PFPX, EFB, ASN, viewing charts, etc. If I had a 2nd computer, I would go that route instead, but I don't and I can't afford it now. So I would like to work with what I currently have for the time being. I have an ASUS P877Z-V motherboard with onboard graphics using the i7's 3770k Intel HD 4000. The motherboard has 2 type of connections for the Onboard GPU, DVI-I and VGA. Would I ge…

Hi all, After several months with my HD4000, I'm ready to buy a second hand graphic card, I'm tempted to buy a gtx 970, or a 6gb titan, no x no z,no black, the reference one from Asus, so, my question is, price is equal more or less for both, but I don't know which gpu could work better in p3d I'm previously owned a gigabyte 770, and as you already know, struggling under clouds and suffering about shimmering and stuffs like that I can't buy anything from 10xx series, same for the 980, because is beyond my possibilities..the titan have 6gb ram and I think would be good in dsr mode, but the 970 have dx12 and is more futureproof in other games Any advice will be wel…

Good Day, I need some help with my 3 monitor setup using nvidia geforce gtx 960 video card. When i use a single monitor all runway lights taxi, etc look normal with no blurry patches. As soon as I open 3 monitors using Nvidia surround mode, all lighting gets very blurry. In fsx options page the resolution is set to 5760 x 1080 x 32 and lens bloom is unchecked. I even altered my fsx.cfg file for scalar adjustments per suggestions from colleagues. I am using the original halo.bmp file. If anyone out there can help, I really would appreciate it. Cheers George Ingram

  7. This is a well known issue with the ACX 2.0 cooler. The fins tend to be lose and rattle at certain RPM. In my case though, the card is constantly exhibiting a load rattle at ALL RPM. I'm waiting for a reply from EVGA with a view to RMA. Having said that, some with this issue have successful stabilised the fins. Just checking if any forum members have had this issue and found a DIY solution.

I'm having problems getting the triple monitor setup to work. I have the same 3 Acer monitors, all at 1920x1080 set to refresh at 60. EVGA GTX 1070. I have everything setup properly. The monitors work properly, my only problem is that when I open FSX it only comes up on one monitor. I have the setup configured in Nvidia control panel, windows display shows one monitor as 5760x1080x32. I have the setting in FSX set to 5760x1080x32. It still only comes up on one monitor. Could it be something in the FSX.cfg file? I'm at a loss as to why it will not work. I had it working at one time, then I went with the Oculus Rift and VR, got sick and tired of the problems with …

Both run at at 1920x1080 resolution. Had the 23" for six years and thinking of upgrading. I can't go any larger due to space Thanks, Helmut

So i run the 1440p ROG swift monitor which I LOVE for gaming, except for P3D. In P3D I use 2X SGSS via NVI, it looks ok but if I got with 4XSGSS in P3D in the clouds my FPS are awful. So I was thinking that if I go with a 4K monitor I wont need any SGSS, correct? Anyways if I go with a 28" ASUS 4K monitor will that solve my AA problems...I'm going to keep my ROG monitor and use it for the other games I play. Here is the monitor I'm thinking of getting. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236617&cm_re=4k_monitor-_-24-236-617-_-Product

Hi all, Can't seem to get anti-aliasing to work on my VC displays in all my aircraft (PMDG 777, 737, Aerosoft A32x) in FSX. I have it set at 4x and Override in nVidia Inspector. Unchecked in FSX settings. Running FSX in DX9 mode. Everything else is anti-aliased perfectly, only the VC displays which are unreadable at a distance because of the jaggies. Is there a setting I am missing? I've tried higher levels of AA and higher levels of Anisotropic filtering (set at 4x in inspector) to no avail. All the textures, knobs, switches etc are all perfect, only the text on the displays is jagged (PFD, ECAM, FMC etc). Edit: Tried Transparent AA to Supersampling but I see…

Hi guys, happy to have found this forum. With the help of this forum I have built a 4-screen setup for FSX, overcome many issues but the current one really stumps me. I'm using an nVidia GTX770 video card. Have setup three 21" screens no problem. Adding a fourth to the display port causes FSX to display four blank screens, but it has loaded as I have sound. I've setup the fourth screen correctly in the nVidia control panel, and all looks well until I load FSX, then the above happens. I was able to use the fourth screen using the vga socket on the motherboard without any problems, moving panels etc in windowed mode to create a great setup. But after a while for some…

  17. Hello, For a long time I have been using FRAPS for recording aircraft landings etc. I recently bought a Nvidia 970 card and saw a program therein called Shadowplay which does much the same as Fraps but uses less power. I tried googling for help in using this programme but the providers in Utube for example were not too clever in describing the procedures. I just wondered if anyone in the Forum had any experience with Shadowplay and if so, would they be so kind as to give me the necessary knowhow. I am 79years of age and still flying FSX with PMDG aircraft but cant get my head around this programme. Many Thanks. Richard Welsh.

So, I'm thinking about getting a second computer to network with my main sim computer. I want to run my charts, topcat, pfpx, etc. on the networked computer. Since I have a 3 monitor setup, I would like to devote one monitor to charts and the other monitor to pfpx & topcat. The third monitor is connected to my main computer and is devoted to the sim. Anyways, is there a way that I can run one monitor(the one for charts) in portrait mode, while running the other monitor(the one for PFPX) in landscape mode while connected to the same computer? Best Regards, Robert Schumacher

  21. I want to update to a 4K UHTV TV to replace my current 30" 2560x1600 monitor on my desk. I will be using this mostly for gaming and some photoshop work. Hey there, I am currently running a 1080p 60hz Acer monitor, and I was pretty happy with it while on a GTX 970. However, I just made the jump to a GTX 1070 and I often hear that in order to take advantage of that card I should think about jumping to 1440p with 144hz. However, researching what to get is difficult because most people online who runs tests with monitors play video games like Battlefield or CS GO etc... which behave very differently than a flight simulator like P3D or FSX. Can someone who has experience with the transition from 1080p to 1440p and 60hz to 144hz please help me understand what is the best option? I also heard of G-Sync but not sure what bene…

  24. Talk about horsepower! But unfortunately we know how little this will probably mean to flight simmers. Especially for the MSRP of $1200. Hopefully, this is a preview of performance to come from the 1080ti. Feel bad for those who jumped on the 1080 too soon. From TomsHardware: On July 21, Nvidia’s Founder and CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang attended an artificial intelligence meet-up at Stanford University, where he revealed the new world’s fastest GPU—and it has a familiar name. The old Titan X is dead, long live the Titan X. Nvidia said the new Titan X came to be as the result of a bet between Brian Kelleher, Nvidia’s top hardware engineer, and Huang. According to the story, H…
