  2. I'm currently using the 182.08 Nvidia drivers for Vista 64. I see there's an update to the 182.50. Is this a minor update not worth doing, or is it a driver I should install? If you're using successfully, I'd like to hear from you.Thanks.

EVGA is set to release the new GTX-275 with both 896MB and up to 1792MB of vRAM... Impressive for those buffer pool lovers :(What are some thoughts on this card. Will this be hands-down the best VC for FSX we've seen yet?http://www.evga.com/articles/00469/What kind of performance upgrades will it show from the current GTX-2xx series, let's get a discussion going on here! :(

I have Apple iMac24 with Boot Camp that allows me to run Windows XP. I have Nvidia GeForce 8800 card. When I run Flight MS Simulator 2004, after 40 minutes the computer freezes. I have reinstalled FS2004 from a different disc, and have no addons. I believe this is an issue with the graphics card since other applications run well in Windows XP. Can someone suggest the settings for the Nvidia GeForce 8800 card tor FS2004?I am referring to the antialising, arisotgropic etc.ThanksStanner

Hey Everyone,I was able to get about 17-19FPS tonight while flying in and around LAX - touch and go at Burbank, Van Nuys, Santa Monica - just night flying in and around Los Angeles.I have an nVidia GeForce 9800 GTX and reading the forums, replaced my 'latest' drivers with the 180.48 recommended here. I'm also running an over-clocked AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.5Ghz.I'm probably going to push the chip to 3.7Ghz as soon as my heatsink arrives and feel that might improve performance a little...Is 17-19FPS the best I can expect with this config? I'm sure at FL320 over Montana I can get 40-50FPS (if not more) but what about city flying especially if landing in a busy city (LAX, J…

I'm looking to pick up a new video card for FSX. I got my system last year but it seems with enough addons in FSX the 512mb memory on my current card (Geforce 8800 GT 512mb) doesn't seem to be quite enough for the resolution I run at (1920x1200). My main goal is to have a card that can run the Flight1 Mustang, PMDG MD-11 etc. with good framerates. I was able to run the Mustang ok at 1680x1050 but once I got the new 24" monitor that runs at 1920x1200 it doesn't run at all basically, I just get MASSIVE stutters when there's any motion in view. I'm mainly looking at either an Nvidia GTX 260, GTX 285 or ATI 4870. How much of a performance difference is there between the 285 a…

I have a hi-spec PC with 9800GTX (3 actually, tho' I know the 2 extra don't benefit FSX yet)The corruption I get, about every 15 flights (but more frequently just lately) occurs in the same place on the panel and after a minute or so leads to a program crash and then the PC crashes and sometimes reboots. The effect occurs just on the video monitors in the cockpit, the stand-by instruments, cockpit fittings and out of the window view all continue to run OK (until it all crashes). Just the 'glass cockpit' displays go and with a number of vertical 'saw tooth' lines down each display (the 2 screens in the case of the Mooney or all 6 iin the MD11).I am thinking there must be so…

  12. Hi Guys, I can't get VSync to work under Windows 7 with my 4870 1 GB graphics card. I had hoped the new 9.3 version of the Catalyst drivers would fix this, but not so!Under XP VSync always worked, at least the first time I ran FSX after booting, although not if I quit the sim and reloaded it.Has anyone been able to get VSync to work at all with an ATI 4870 under Windows 7 or Vista?Cheers,Noel.

I recently upgraded my graphics card frpm a nvidia g100 to a nvidia 9500gt. When I replaced the the cards I noticed my old card had a gray wire running from it to the motherboard while my new card had no such wire. I use my HDTV as a moniter using a DVI to HDMI cord for a hook up. Now I know that doesent include audio so I got seperate cables for sound but just cant get sound from the pc to come out of my tv. I could before becuase my old card had an HDMI slot so I simply used and HDMI cord to hook it up. So my question is does the gray wire from my old card have anything to do with why I cant get any sound with the new card and if not then why cant I get sound? Thank you

Hi,On my GTX280 I have two LCD monitors connected to the DVIs, in a Dualview setup (different resolutions)I happen to have an old spare cannibalized PSOne LCD with a RCA video input (easily convertible to S-Video with a cable changer).Do you know if I can use the S-Video port of the video card for that ? I mean going for a triple displayThe psOne LCD resolutions is, 640x480, but I dunno if the card can support triple output at the sametime...That would make a damn nice CDU screen with the 767.. :(

I know that for FSX any card over 260 GTX is an over kill for a 22 inch sized monitors, but do you need a beefier card (such as 280GTX) for a 24 inch monitor at 1900* 1200? Or will 260GTX suffice?

I have a nvidia GTX 280 1GB card and I'm flying FSX. I have noticed two funny things while flying. At airports that have the green and white beacon lights, the green light is just a green solid cone and the same for the white light. This is as I taxi by them. Another funny thing is that the water has what looks like grid lines from about 5000 ft. Any ideas what is going on? By the way, this just started doing this. I have 182.08 driver for the card.

I have to admit being slightly green on this subject. Even though I bought a 'triple head' system (3 x 9800GTX) with this development in mind. But I believe it still needs Nvidia to produce suitable drivers to run the three screensIf anyone can give me a brief idea how close this might be and what else I might need (apart from another two monitors!)My dream is to have a system which shows two forward windows and one Capt side window. From my 'realworld' aircraft simulator experience, the boost this gives to the realism is approaching 100%!ThanksNigel

I updated the driver to version 182.08 following the instructions as above. After the update I cannot set the screen resolution any higher that 640x480. In addition one of the monitors shows as inactive in display settings. I have tried changing settings in windows display and Nvidia control panel with no success. I rolled back the driver to 175.19 but the problem persists. Can anyone help?TksBruce

Hi all, I'm considering a new graphics card and am looking at either the new GT250 which replaces the 9800GTX+(which replaced the 8800GT) or perhaps a GTX 260. I am currently using a 7950 GT OC and the only problem I ever have are pauses and stutters in fog close to landing (when using the LD767). Will I see a major difference with either of the 2 cards? I have a 620W Corsair Power Supply and am concerned if that's enough to handle either of the two cards. I currently use FSX in 1680 x 1050 resolution. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Craig
