My picture flutters and shakes(especially if I make a sharp turn) Is there someone that cld help me with me settings? I would sure appreciate. This is driving me crazy!!

I've just installed my new Palit GTX 285 2Gb and thought I'd check what new nVidia drivers are out there. I've been using 182.50 with my old 9800 GTX+ 512Mb for a while. Before I take the plunge and update to 186.18 I need to ask... is it worth it??? Is there a performance gain or loss? I'm running Vista 64-bit. Any and all experiences and opinions gratefully received...

Hey all, after putting up with having 5 fps in default scenery for two years, I finally am going to buy a graphics card. However, since my budget is tight and my comp has a 300w psu, my options are limited. I am currently looking at a galaxy 9400 gt with 512 mb ddr2 memory from best buy. I'm just curious if there are any users of the 9400 and if it will be powerful enough to get decent frames on fsx. BTW I run fsx with sp1.

  5. I upgraded my video card from nVidia 7600GS, 256MB, to nVidia 9400GT, 1GB, and now the writing on ALL my 2D panels are a little blurry. I'm also having problems reading the guages. Prior to upgrading I had no problems reading the lettering and guages. Everything was clear and crisp. Now, you have a hard time reading words and numbers. They're not distorted, just blurry. I've experimented with changing the resolution to a higher resolution. This made some difference by making the words/guages a little easier to read. I don't fly in VC mode; I only use 2D panel.Has anyone had a similiar issue after upgrading? If so, how did you overcome it? (besides a magnifying gl…

Can anyone help me understand this peculiar problem ? Just added a Dell SE198WSP LCD to my rig, 1280 X 1024 @32. Looks good, BUT, everytime I start FSP9, the whole system reboots after 5 mins into a flight. Other apps on my system are working just fine, this only occurs with FS9. My "dinosaur" is an ASUS MB, 2 Ghz Celeron, 1 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 6200 256 MB vid card, WIN XP SP3.I've looked at every setting I can find but can't resolve this problem yet. Thanks in advanceCharlie

More and more often now I see this problem, and it always occurs at large airports. The 3D buildings flicker like crazy with these bizarre black shadow shapes. I tried to attach some screen shots but the attachment editor wasn't working for me. I'll try to get those posted.I always am sure to keep the ambient temperature cool when I play FSX to help keep the GPU cool. I don't believe it heats up past 60-70 degrees C.I have tried a few different forceware drivers and all show the same problem. Perhaps when I uninstalled one driver to install another, I didn't get the old completely uninstalled (didn't use drive cleaner or the like).Win XP x64 SP1FSX w/AccelerationCore i76…

Hi all, I just put together a different computer. I have FS2004 installed a running very nice and smooth. One problem. If I set my in game screen resolution to 1280X1024 32bit I get a flickering white screen whenever I hit the alt button of whenever the sim loads or goes to a menu. When I switch to 1280X1024 16bit the flash goes away. My desktop resolution is 1280X1024, 32bit. Any ideas? My system specs are P5B MB with a Pentium D 820 CPU, 2gigs of PC6400 ram, BFG 7600 GT OC video card. I never had this problem on my old Dell. I have also tried a couple of different drives with no change. This is not a show stopper but it is pretty annoying. TIA.Pat CallaghanKP…

Today I upgraded my video card to a GeForce 9800GTX+ 1GB. I was shocked to find that my frame rates have dropped into the low teens using FS2004. I'm running at a resolution of 1680x1050. I tried reducing the screen resolution (1280x800) but this didn't make any difference. I've tried to tweak things using the NVIDIA Control Panel and NHancer but I can't get framerates above 20 fps. My previous card was a 8400 GS (512 MB). This old card was terrible with clouds but at least the framerates were close to 30 in clear skies. I'm getting 14 fps in clear skies in KSEA with sliders maxed out and a decent amount of AI. Even if I go to another airport with hardly any AI I'…

My PC is almost 3 years old (Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66Ghz) with 3Gb Ram, running XP SP3. I currently have Nvidia GeForce 7900GTX with 512Mb mem, which is ok provided I don't stress it too much.My question is this:I want to get back into FS9 as I have just received Satek yoke & pedals for my birthday. If I upgrade the graphics card to Nvidia GeForce GTX285, am I going to notice much difference (especially with a lot of AI running). Don't really want to shell out loads of money only to find there is no improvement. Thanks for any advice! :(

  14. I thought the conventional wisdom was that locked frames were better. Yet, I notice significant improvement with some add-ons with unlimited frames. The Maddog is virtually unflylable for me in the vc with locked frames, but is passable with unlimted. CS 757 also does better unlimited. Both of those are known as not particularly frame-friendly.I have a Dell XPS 430 2 core Quad 2.6 6MB RAM w/GeForce 9800 GT. running FSX on Vista 64.Have I mis-learned the collective wisdom of the community or is there a reason some products do better on unlimited and some locked? (I'm not just talking about FPS, either, but smoother, too.)

Greetings to one and all! I have this system: Intel DP43TF mainboard with 4Gb RAM, three SATA disks with XP on one, Vista on another and Windows 7 RC on the third; Asus EN9600GT 1 GB graphics card. Monitor is a Samsung 120 hz bundled with NVidia 3D Vision. The 3D works well with FS9 (in fact it's very good) but when I try to switch on 3d Vision in FSX (Alt+enter to get into full screen mode) , I get the error message "Out of memory. Stereo has been turned off"and the sim returns to 2d mode. I have corresponded briefly with NVidia, but I think they haven't met this problem before.I did a fresh install of Windows 7 and had 3D vision and FSX as the only programs, but…

I just downloaded and installed the newest driver for my NVIDIA GeForce 8200 and now I don't have any AA for both FS9 and FSX. I've played with settings in both the NVIDIA Control Panel and nHancer but nothing seems to work. Is there a special way to get AA back or should I restore back to the old driver? (I upgraded it because cloud9's EHAM was having flickering brown textures which seemed to be fixed after the installation so if possible, I'd like to stay away from going back to the old one.)Thanks,Andy

Hi, over the years I've installed various programmes that required .Net 1, .net 2 etc. Just had to renew my graphics card and the latest ver. of nHancer, which requires .Net 3.5. My question is, can I now uninstall all the previous versions of .net ? I just had a look in the control panel add or remove, and see there are some 25 entries relating to .Net. Any advice on this subject (which I just don't understand) would be very welcome.Russell.

I'm just curious as to just how much of a gain in performance I'll get in FS9 if I overclock the core and memory clock. I'm using stock cooling, and the card already runs at 58-60 C idle and 85C steady under HEAVY load. Keep in mind I'm pretty new to overclocking, and don't want to mess with it too much. Will the gain be noticeable?BTW, what's the best bang for the buck in terms of cooling the case and card. I'm low on cash this month. :(

Hi, I am running FS9.1 with a Geforce 7800GTX card and I am using 175.19 driver. I decided yesterday to finally upgrade my driver to 182.50. When I started up FS9, I noticed that when the panel view appeared that there was a black gap at the bottom of the screen where the notification that the brakes are applied, when I release the brakes the black gap disappears. This black gap at the bottom of the screen only appears in the panel view. I have since tried 181.20 and 186.19 drivers with the same result. However, If I rollback to my original driver (175.19) the problem does not arise. Has anyone else come across this problem? Many thanks

I'm about to purchase a CDU from Flight Deck Solutions. Peter mentioned the LCD is s-video on these pro-m cdus. (I wonder if they are still the PSONE screens?)Anyhow, that being said, I picked up a Nvidia 8400 GS card (I prefer Nvidia when possible) and, while I don't have the CDU yet, have tried this card in my new flight sim rig (Which runs Vista 64) using the old 7" TFT active matrix LCD that I used in my older cessna sim as a GPS screen. (WHich worked fine)Well, it doesn't work.I read a bazillion posts, that first said the 8400 GS had problems with Vista. Then it was that Nvidia is not supporting TV anymore, or that their control panel in the latest drivers doesn't wo…

I remember this being discussed somewhere, but a Google search and Avsim forum search turns up nothing I'm looking for. I'm using the latest (185.85) drivers, but was wondering if there is a better driver set for FS9 in particular. I recall some of the earlier drivers (say 170ish, 182ish) proved to have the best results in FS9. Anyone have an idea? Also, I wonder if I should post this over at the Hardware forum as well?

After years of running FS9 on a 17-inch monitor, I now have a 24-inch monitor - needless to say, this stretches my two-year-old system (and presumably the GPU) to its limits such that FPS in FS9 is very, very low. My system is as follows: Core 2 Duo 6600, 2GB RAM, 8800GTS (320MB) - as you can see, I didn't buy this yesterday! Now, I suspect that the main bottleneck is the GPU, but I don't exclude the whole system itself as the culprit. Would changing to a 9800GTX be of any use without changing anything else? Or should I just throw my computer out the window and buy a whole new rig? Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks,NicolasCYOW

Hello All, Everything in the world has a 'service life' and my 22" CRT monitor has gone to monitor heaven. My other two monitors are also CRT's, but I guess CRT's are a thing of the past, LOL, ( I am getting old), so a new one will be a LCD. I'm thinking of a 22-24" widescreen replacement. My budget is really small . . . any suggestions? A blury, bad contrast cheapo is not needed, no matter how good the price.....but price IS an issue. thanks in advanceClay

Hi allI'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I'll post her anyway. Yesterday I ditched my ATi Radeon 4850 for a Nvidia 260 GTX. Great improvement in FSX. Frame rates are more solid at my setting (20fps) and it eats the clouds for breakfast. The clouds brought my ATi to its knees - even modest cloud coverage. However, I do use Halald Neusinger's FSRecorder module, and have noticed since installing the 260, that when I select recordings to 'Play' or 'Play as Traffic', the screen loses its anti-aliasing and the image has a major case of the 'jaggies'. Didn't do this with the ATi card.Any insights? I can't seem to find any posts on this.Basic specs areInt…
