Hi everybody, I need your advice on a replacement for my 7600GT (PCI-E).I'm not upgrading to FSX any time soon and since the FS9 is the only "game" I play, I don't really need a DX10 card. So basically I'm looking for an inexpensive replacement card for my 7600GT.The problem is, the 7600GT was/is a real winner, and it seems that there isn't a really cheap alternative for it.I'm not looking for the cheapest card, but I don't want to blow more than $100 to a "dead investment" either.I've seen 512MB 9500XT's going for $60, but I'm not sure about the performance that I'll get. I'm not sure about the ATI equivalents but a I'm ok with ATI too.Any advice is welcome! Thanks.Bozhan

I run 4 monitors and think I'd like to get a SLI MB in order to run the two cards that supply the two monitors. As I understand it, SLI allows the linking of two cards together to provide more processing power. I dont really want to do exactly that. I just want to run 2 vid cards. I've been running a AGP and a PCI but you could understand the limitations of that older PCI video power. So my question is this. Can I just run two PCI-e vid cards on the SLI MB without linking them? and thus providing my four separate displays? And if so, do I need the "SLI" ready video cards that seem to be much more expensive than a standard PCI-e video card?Hope I made this clear enough...Go…

Hello all, I have the EVGA GTX 280 graphics card and I was wondering what best driver for this card works best with FSX? I have 182.08 for Vista 64 now. I have Intel quad core 9450 OC'ed to 3.2 and 4 GB memory. I noticed that scenery just pops in such as trees, tall buildings, ect. Is this normal for FSX or an adjustment? Any advice will be appreciated.

For a new system based on i7 940 I'm considering these 2 cards.I'm aware that nVidia generally has a better reputation for FSX than ATI cards. However i also do a bit of gaming - like Silent 3 and 4. And the new Empire: Total War.http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/geforce-gtx-...ew-31515-4.htmlAny advice or suggestions would be welcome.

Hi All, I am considering upgrading my graphics card. Currently I am using an EVGA 7950GT factory overclocked. (512mb). I have no problem with frame rates but I do get the occasional stutter which I can't seem to remedy even using Nick's guide. I am considering a 9800 series card and am wondering if I would see any difference at all. Either that or I will wait until Win7 is RTM and go with the 64 bit version as Win7 32bit runs FSX great. Thanks in advance. Craig

hello,I have read that these (beta) drivers gave good results in recently released games benchmarksis there anyone having tried them in FSX?

I am looking for a driver-level method to lock frames in FSX. As we know, sometimes running UNLIMITED can lead to frame rate surges and jerky video at times. There are also priorization benefits in running UNLIMITED that limiting frames in FSX seems to override, or at least adversely affect. It seems to me a driver level frame rate limiter would solve this conundrum. Any thoughts? I see nV has something called just that, nVidia Frame Lock, but it seems to be geared towards syncing displays for multi or stereo, or would this maybe work?Noel

Hi,I have been reading all over the web for those using 1 gig or above cards. Not only for FSX but for other games. It seems that there are a considerable amount of issues. I thought I would just start a thread where users can post their specs, ideas, issues etc, in hopes that together we can work through some of these. I did order a 1 gig card simply because of video exhaustion on my 512. Any input you guys have will be helpful to all who are struggling.RegardsBob G

I have an opportunity to acquire a matched pair of 17" Samsung Synchmaster 712N LCD monitors. ( these would replace an existing pair of CRTs in my triple mon setup)However, the 712N has a Response Time of only 12ms.Any opinions as to whether these LCDs would be suitable for flight simming (FS9) graphics??Alex Reid

Whoops, already posted this in FSX forum and just seen the sticky so reposting here. After my hard drive and motherboard failed I have just upgraded my computer, I am now experiencing crashes, when windows restarts it tells me it was an Nvidia graphics problem. What happens is I am flying ok then the screen freezes, most times the computer restarts on its own, occasionally I have to turn it off. I have downloaded what looks to be a newer graphics driver but when I go to update it through device manager it says I already have the most upto date version installed!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. My system is as follows Inno3d Nvidia Geoforce9800GT (driver version…

Hello, I'm currently running the following hardware: Intel E8500 O\C @3.8 GHZ, Asus P5QC mobo, EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB, 4GB (2@ 2GB) Mushkin DDR2 800MHZ Ram. FSX is on its' own 500 GB Sata HDD. I'm thinking about updating my video card to an EVGA GeForce GTX 285 1GB 512-bit GDDR3. Would I see enough of a difference in performance in FSX to justify the added expense? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,I often wondered as I have tried many drivers. I have an 8800GT OC and always had this question in the back of my mind. Do the base algorythms the programmers write really improve? In other words, do they somehow wake up one morning and say "I have a better way to do this, and I can do it it 4 lines instead of 2" thus improving something? Maybe I can make this chip faster so Joe over there can get better frames. I think early drivers to support a new board probably go through that initial "this will work better" stage, but it seems to me that most of the driver updates are to support new boards, or to fix certain games that have some type of anomoly so to speak. I dont…

Worth the upgrade? Using FS9, high AA/AF setting, contemplating if to install FSX, since my 8800GT doesn't really chew through FSX as expected... Any noticable performance boost? Specs see below... (price is now 150€ on ebay, expected to go higher...)
