First of all I love this program, it gives my simulation a whole new dimension.But I do face some problems.1. I am not able to install X-Gauge in my 737 NGX " .... XGauge has already been installed..."For sure I have not installed any XGauge, but nevertheless tried uninstall and then install again; did not help.2. Heavy snow in EDDM; wet runway, but dry taxiways and green grass besides them. Not sure this is an AS2012 problem so.ThanksPeter

First of all thank you for AS 2012 i've bought it and is fantastic i have only 2 question about it.1) The raccomended settings for realism for ASE are valid for AS2012 ? Hi everbody,I upgraded from ASE to AS 2012 and I am so far satisfied. The only issue I saw until now is the not working sound. I neither hear the usual thunderstorm rumble (as for ASE) during start up nor any sample sound for the thunderstorms in the sound chapter. All other sounds work fine in FSX. Any idea what could be wrong?

Hi,when I download historical weather with the checked option 'Local', the local time is interpreted as the local PC time. Is this correct?If it is, it would be nice to have an option to interpret 'Local' as the local time of the departure airport if a flight plan was previously loaded, or the station selected in the report screen if no flight plan is loaded Just another christmas wish.RegardsWolfgang

Hi i am having a few problems with the NGX and winds. When i climb out from the runway the wind speed moves really quickly along with air speed. I have FSCUIPC installed the registered version. Just wondering if anyone can help.Regards ChrisOrder No : 244886

I have ASE and would like to upgrade to AS 2012.I see the limited-time 20% discount offer, but I cannot find a discount for ASE users.Am I missing simething?

AS2012 is on a network install, on the same PC as ASE.When I try to install WXinfluenced graphics AS2012 tells me that TEXTURE-MAX-LOAD=1024 and wants to automatically update fsx.cfg to 2048 but the fsx.cfg file I can see on the FSX PC has TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096.Is there anywhere in AS2012 I can see where it thinks fsx.cfg file is or anyway I can manually make sure it is seeing the correct fsx.cfg file?Thanks

I've read the docs and I can't really figure this out. I'm going to run AS2012 on the Client PC and connect the FSX Server PC thru SimConnect. I'm pretty sure that means I need to install AS2012 on the client PC; however, do I also need to run the AS2012 installer on the FSX Server PC? If the answer is only the Client PC, how do the texture files get loaded into FSX? Are they pulled across my network every time I change them, and will that take significant time or is it just a minute or so?Thank you,James

Hi,A couple of months ago I saw the notice about Actice Sky 2012 coming soon and a statement about special updrade pricing for existing ASE customers.Yesterday I saw the release announcement on AVSIM, but I can't find any information about how to upgrade for existing customers. The store seems to only offer the regular discount, not an existing customer upgrade price.I have purchased/owned every version of ActiveSky (and XG) since 2004 and have records of all of my old license keys.How do we upgrade? I'm trying to get a handle on the reasoning for the destination wx lock distance being so far out. I was going to recommend that it be dropped from 80 down to something much smaller in ASE, and I see now it's 128 in AS2012 according to the manual. What I'm finding is that I can do a 100 nm flight and get the identical wx for the entire flight, unless I disable the option then re-enable it when I get closer. My thinking is that within about 30 nm you are going to see very similar wx, but at 128 nm you can have a really wide range of conditions. I'd be interested to know what the reason(s) is/are for having so great a lock distance. I'm not being critical here as I've learn…

My fourth flight with the new 2012. All flights same problem. It will not hold IMC weather and will not display CB clouds or thunderstorms despite the METAR. This is a classic example from MPTO this morning ( I use historic OFFLINE wx)Here is the metar: MPTO 180700Z 08013KT 1SM +RA OVC009 OVC058CB 24/22 A2983I was using standard depiction mode with a 90 nm radius set. I am starting to change my mind on your clouds the more I fly with them weather influenced for clouds and airports only with your hazy horizon sky texture for day. The cumulus yesterday was really real looking. I notice there is a lot less generic broken cumulus where each cloud is the same size and spacing. You guys are getting better a programming the clump effect nature of cumulus cloud coverage and it looks much more real. I realize that is not a texture thing but a depiction thing. The last 2 flights I did with AS2012 clouds I think I like better than using the more transparent and painted looking REX clouds as far as textures go as well as the depiction from ASE qui…

It was well worth the money.Everything was working flawlessly until I was over the Gulf of Mexico, just south of Louisiana in the PMDG 737 NGX. The aircraft went into a 90 degree bank right and nose dive. after resetting the autopilot, LNAV, and waypoints a few times, my only theory was that is was caused by AS2012, as weather engines can be buggy and the NGX had never behaved like this before. Hello ! I have a WidevieW system : 1 server FSX-SP2 with Wideview server + 2 clients FSX-SP2 with WidevieW clients . In order to achieve a decent weather depiction on server, I use ASE (DWC mode) on another LAN machine. Unfortunately, WidevieW is, in reality, unable to correctly synchronize weather depiction beetween server and clients. Weather synchronization works only with very static depiction (like weather theme). Does it exist a solution to send to each instance of FSX the same depiction from ASE in the same time ?ASE doesn't accept several simultaneous ID connections, as it requests informations from FSX or FS9. With the possible exception of visibility smoothing not being incporated outside of DWC, I have been delighted with ASE and its predecessors for many years.I have spent lots of time modifying key textures such as halo.bmp and fX_2.bmp as well as getting the right balance of cloud textures and a custom cirrus_overcast 3 texture which does the haze layer. Therefore:(i) is there a way in the AS2012 interface of picking which textures it loads and overwrites and which ones it does not?(ii) ignoring all other features, is the weather engine and depiction a material improvement over ASE? and(iii) will ASE continue to be support (ie will weather engine improvements be built into…

When I want to make a flightplan in AS2012 I often get a "Destination ID not found" message. I assume AS2012 is using it's own airport database and that a number of (small) airports are not in it. Is there something that can be done about it?Regards,Allard.

I've read the documentation and realize there is quite a bit to explore here, but I was wondering if there are a few settings you would recommend for flying lower altitude GA aircraft as opposed to the airliners. Then also the settings recommended for the airliners. I'm talking mainly about the settings in the wx options tab. Depiction mode, cloud and visibilty options, etc. My goal is to have the most realistic experience possible. Is it possible, then to save the two profiles and call them up as needed?thankssteve

I have been an ASE user with the latest upgrades and only recently in last few months fully understood the differences btw the different modes of depiction thru direct correspondence with you thru this forum and support area. In AS2012, when attempting to edit weather in the "Edit Wx" page, if you set a fractional visibility (i.e. 1/4 or 1/2 sm) the METAR line correctly reflects the change, but when you click the "Apply" button, the program throws a non-fatal unhandled exception error.
