Team,I have experienced an issue with QNH not updating within FSX. Specifically, FSX always depicts as standard, 29.92, despite what AS2012 reports via the wxreport page. All other data is accurately depicted within the SIM (e.g. winds and sky condition). BTW, incredible product; a must have! If anyone reading this on the fence about buying this product, I suggest making the proverbial leap...well worth it! On a side note, is there documentation specifying what textures AS2012 actually implements? I'm wondering if I can "dump" some of my other addons...

First, I am really enjoying the new AS2012. What a nice piece of work.I have one small suggestion though. I would like to have the thunder clap on startup initiated after the initial loading process is complete, instead of at the beginning. It would give an audible clue when the initial loading process is complete and I can start loading flight plans, etc That or another sound at the completion of the initialization process..

I've created a custom cabin but whenever I start XPax I have to manually load my custom cabin.Is it possible to lock XPax to my custom cabin so it will always start up with this cabin layout by default?

This is going to be one of the major factors in me purchasing this upgrade. ASE wreaks havoc with my PMDG MD-11 receiving strange weather readings which in turn cause it to go into strange S-turns.Has this been fixed in AS2012? If so, where do I buy?EDIT: Meant PMDG, sorry.

For some reason the arrival gate video is not played when the passengers are deplaning after parked at the gate, instead the general gate video is played.Anyone know what could cause this?

Lately I've been developping some add-on scenery for Chinese airports that are not stock scenery. I wanted to set precise weather conditions to test AI ops depending on QFU (ILS approaches, etc...).So I first added those new airports to ASE database (Options/Edit Station data). Maybe I missed the train on WX influenced graphics. Every time I install WX influenced graphic it shows the theme as Custom. I have read the AS2012 Document section on this subject and it doesn't seem to answer the question. I have tried various orders of entering the flight plan and installing graphics. No matter what I try it always comes down to Custom theme being installed as WX influenced graphics even if a different theme is selected on the drop down menu on the home page. Maybe I misunderstand Custom. Possibly it is a changing theme depending on the enroute weather as opposed to Acceleration, Default, DreamScape, etc which seem to be fixed themes. Is this correct o…

Title says it all. But still cant deal with the flashing sky and stutters from this mode. Just thought I would share this with the community though. As I suspected this major bug is the cloud transition global mode gone awry with texturing. It sounds like they are working on an sp1 to fix this, hopefully. What an otherwise excellent program though. It is even worth it dealing with the flashing sky periodically, sort of.

I noticed the landing lights seemed to not be lighting the ground though they are on and show up when you look at them from outside. However they appear to be lighting an area way off to the sides of the aircraft and probably a few hundred yards away with no light anywhere near the aircraft. The taxi lights seem to work fine on some aircraft and don't appear at all on others. Any solutions other than turning off that graphics feature?

There have been a number of topics (and somewhat "heated" discussions) about overcast and AS2012. Well, today I was flying the bush in NW B.C. and using AS2012's remarkable ability to make your own wx, I saw on the Wx Network that Dease Lake was overcast and -18C. So, I set an overcast layer of St at 8000 and another layer of St at 16000. My flight was about 40 nm long, and along the way I snapped a few pics looking up. I am at minimum zoom (30% I think) to give you the broadest view possible. Check these out:I don't know about you, but that sure looks overcast to me! The vis was set to 15 nm. OK, I'm using the Edit Wx screen a lot, and am inputting my own wx using the GUI interface (top half of window). I set my desired wx then set the Application Range to Global and click Apply Now. All was good today for the first half hour. After that I got some sort of wx that made no sense and I have no idea where it came from, but it was radically different to what was showing in the GUI and the METAR string windows (including an altimeter setting in FSX of 27.97, which on this altimeter technically shouldn't exist). On my client PC, I have FS Commander that must use WideFS. I also have AS2012 that prefers SimConnect. So, my plan is to use both WideFS and SimConnect at the same time. I'm wondering if AS2012 is going to get confused and not know if it should use SimConnect or WideFS? Am I creating a problem with this setup? If so, I can just use WideFS and remove SimConnect, but them I think I lose some AS2012 functionality (as I believe it's optimized for SimConnect).Any comments appreciated.James

Hey Damian,I've tried 3 times to raise a ticket with a problem, but after typing everything out in the window, I get a message saying I hadn't selected the department to send it to. In fact I had selected Tech Support each time, but then I just get the same message again. I confirmed I was logged in, but still no joy. Something's not sticking in your selection window there. Hi,I nearly always prefer to fly day flights since I dislike night textures of FSX overall. So after sunset I often do "historical" flights. For example if I it is 20:00, I adjust the time as 08:00 A.M. and fly.The thing is; when I start AS2012 (or ASE previously), I have to wait till it downloads current weather data to access the program menus (they are grayed out until it is loaded). Not that it takes too long but still it takes some time and I prefer not to experience that idle time. :)So my suggestion is; would it be possible/feasible to include some pop-up dialog box at start-up which asks if I would like to download the current weather data or not, so that I can ch…

Hi guys!I just bought XPax and installed it on my second PC where I also have AS 2012 installed together with AivlaSoft's EFB and they both use SimConnect and have no problem connecting to my FSX installation on my main PC but when I start XPax and try to connect to FSX I get an error message saying there is a problem with my SimConnect installation and I'm adviced to uninstall and then reinstall FSX SP1?!What am I missing here?Let me know if you need any other details.

I have posted also in another related topic about this but in order to gain more attention I am going to again state it in this new thread.Real world Nimbo-Stratus overcasts are very common weather phenomenon in North America and Europe in Fall and Winter and though AS2012 has very realistic rainy dark overcast depiction as observed from the ground, it just evaporates as you climb up through it. It seems to be being depicted as a thin visibility layer rather than a true opaque cloud. In real world, they are opaque when flying thru them and when above them they totally obscure the ground. The AS2012 depiction allows the ground to always be clear and visible and clouds j…

I use ASE with REX texture. Quote often on a cloudy day I see very white clouds in the distance in front of (or through) nearby grey clouds, which looks odd and not realistic at ALL. It completely spoils the immersion. Does AS2012 also have this problem? Or did it fix it?

Hi,Am looking to purchase Active Sky 2012, and have the following question.I use a 60Gb SSD for FSX which has around 30Gb free. I also have a 1TB drive where I store all of my data that is not used when flying FSX/My question is:- Do I have to store the 16 GB texture files on my small 60Gb FSX SSD drive, or can they be stored on my large 1TB drive? Of course I want the ones in use by FSX to be copied to the FSX Scenery folder on the small drive.I am ready to pay for Active Sky, but fear I would loose 25% of my SSD to it.Thanks for your assistance.Leslie
