I use AS2012 on a client laptop with SimConnect. It can take a while to reload the Map on occasion; maybe 30 secs if I'm guessing. I'm guessing it's because my client laptop is a pretty weak computer. Any idea what hardware upgrade will help? I had a single core AMD V120 processor, and I upgraded that to a dual core AMD Turion... didn't seem to help. I only have 2GB RAM; maybe 4GB? Running Win 7 64.Thanks,James

Hi there,a newbie question: despite having entered a flight plan, the weather en route has some discontinuity (for example cloud cover changes from one second to the other)....i though AS2012 was all about not having those weather jumps.I mostly fly short routes i.e 100 to 400 NM.What am I doing wrong ?BestKarim

Hi.I'm sorry to bring this topic up again as I know its been bought up many times before., but I know some people are not suffering from this problem any more and I still am!!!I'm still getting incorrect ATIS for my destination hence AI traffic is all not as expected when I arrive. I realise ATIS will never be correct in DWC mode.I'm using ASE with the latest beta build (655) on a networked laptop. FSX sp2 is running on the main PC. I'm using DWC mode. I have the latest version of FSUIPC installed and weather settings are 'off' on FSUIPC. I realize I am not giving you much info to work with, but then again I can't tell you anything!Yesterday I was flying happily with FS9 and of course using ASE. Closed it down in the evening and having experienced no issue whatsoever. Fired up the computer and tried starting ASE and after about 4-5 seconds I get a message "ASE has stopped working". I have restarted the computer of course, uninstalled ASE, rebooted and then installed my ASE-Full_B566 file again. Same result, the program doesn't start. Good day all.I have noticed that AS2012 freezes, most of the time it was in external views but now it freezes all the time. It slows down for a few seconds and then goes back to normal for about 10 sec or so then freezes again. I cannot find a solution. People say that AS2012 more smooth than REX but I never had issues with REX and all my settings are very high in REX. I use very many addons at the same time and it wont freezes with REX, when I use AS2012 even with no any addons it freaking freezes. I think my PC has enough power to run AS2012 but for some reason something slows it down.Thanks.

Does the upgrade work with the original version of acive sky or just Evolution?

Last night, a group of us flew into KBUF becuase the weather was 1/2 mile visability. Everyone else in the group found 1/2 mile but me. I had about 10 miles. I was running with DWC with automatic downloads and VATSIM weather checked. I would like to understand why my weather was differencet from real-time? What other varibles effect weather display?Thanks,

I currently have ASE running off of a secondary drive, would it be of benefit as far as texture loading to move it back to the FSX drive?Also any thoughts on 2x 1tb Raid 0 vs WD Raptor for fsx, what matters most seek times or throughput?Thanks :)

I am using ASE. I have download weather automatically checked for years. I am thinking about unchecking it so I don't get stutters during injection. I also think it may be crashing the sim on occasion. Whether that is the case, I don't know but I'd like to rule it out as an possibility. The crashes I get (very occasional) can not be reproduced so troubleshooting is pretty difficult.Anyway, when I uncheck it do I just click refresh at the beginning of the flight and then ASE downloads the current worldwide weather?I'm fine with a snapshot of worldwide weather rather than dynamic weather as long as I will get weather depiction worldwide (including ASE created weather in the…

Yesterday in the general area where I live (North East NSW Australia) we had a significant weather event of heavy continous rain with high winds. However all I could get from ActiveSky 2012 was broken clouds up to 7000 ft, with NO presipitation recorded. I mean it was buckiting down outside with rain all day and yet AS2012 could not get it.Why? Have I done something wrong? Am I missing something?Yes I do have the Automatic Downloads ticked off in the Wx Options and I get the green message stating that weather has been downloaded.Thanks

I hate to keep bothering folks about this , but this has become a regular pain to try and get this FSX SP1 or SP2 SimConnect Client crap to go away, ive done it all downloaded , reloaded , reloaded FSX several times and got all the files and contacted hifi support , you name it i have done .read the manual no it by heart , backwards even.i have every file shared from here to eternity if it was a file i shared it.ran sdk,s on both client and Server , ran all updates , and still these sp updates ars not right.im feeling pretty dumb right now , i really need to what im missing.Thanks...Robert

Hi I was just wanted to ask about the clouds in Active Sky. When you watch videos online for real flights the clouds look alot lower but on flight sim even at 34,000 they seem quite close.Does this seem normal or i am doing something wrong.Kind Regards Chris

Just had an unusual issue. Barometric pressure in FSX was 29.92 everywhere. AS2012 METARS were showing ~30.07 for the airports in the local area and my destination. Basically, FSX was not getting the correct pressure from AS2012. Other weather seemed okay.Using enhanced depiction. AS2012 on client PC with simconnect.I see that B4387 addresses a pressure issue with certain cirrus clouds. I'll install that.James

Hi,first of all, I'd like to say, that I'm well aware of the implications of old software as FSX on new OS as W7/64.However, I'm running all my FS software (and some other old software, too) as restricted user with UAC on without any problems, by giving the appropriate access rights to the relevant parts of the registry and program files directory.I understand also, that Hifi is not imposing these potential problems to standard users, but I personally would prefer running AS2012 as restricted user, too, as my PC is not only for FS and has to some other important stuff as well. Seems to work just fine.I forgot to shut down AS when I started up Prepar3d, and sure enough, I got the message at the top that the weather was updated. The clouds and whatot seemed to change so something happened. lolI wasn't aware AS2012 worked with Prepar3d.Btw, AS2012 is awesome.

My AS2012 is not updating temperatures at the different altitudes correctly during descent and climb. I have to manually open up my World-Weather window, switch to "Clear Weather" then switch back to "User-Defined" to get it to work properly. Everything else seems to be working correctly, just not the temperatures. Even when flying I get the green box stating "AS2012 has downloaded new weather" (or whatever the exact lingo is). Any suggestions?

When I first get into the interface, I have an option under graphics to install a theme.OK, the when I select a flightplan and process it, I get a dialogue asking me if I want to Install AS2012 graphics or snapshot graphics.Question is this: which choice keeps the theme I just installed under graphics.Thanks.

Hey all,Can't get good visibility below 5000 feet. Have disabled all visibility restrictions. Enabled the FSX haze option. Have saved and applied, quit and restarted. Have reapplied the default options file.
