HI guys Quick Question, When flying en route it appears that clouds follow me up as I climb up till my cruise altitude so they always look like they are 3 or 4000 ft below the Aircraft. If a cumulus cloud is reporting as SCT060 and im at F380 the cloud looks more like its at 26000ft not 6000. Is this an FSX thing or is there something Im doing / something i can do to fix it.? I have 2 pc's in 2 different locations of which I am the sole user. They are not networkable due to the physical locations of the boxes. Am I able to use ASE on each machine more easily now with the new release? It was a logistical challenge before making one offline (or something like that) before using it from the other per instructions I received from tech support.ThxRick

Hi @ allSometimes I have a problem, 0,5 nm on final before I want to land, I have a very very strong left or right deflection of the aircraft. I'ts not possible to take the control of the aircraft back and a crash is unavoidable.Whenever this happens, I notice an entry in ASE ilke this:"Wake effect activated... Strengh Factor: 2"What does this message mean?Does it mena the "Wake turbulence Strength" in the Cloud Options?

Hi, i am planning my routes also with fsbuild.One time for my FS9, other Time for FSX.For FS9 i must use ASE, for FSX i use AS2012.The Problem is now: FSBUILD use the weather data from ASE in the "roaming" folder.but when i start planning for FSX then i use 2012 and this program saveing theweather data in other "roaming" folder.is there a chance to use ONE folder for both - AS1012 and ASE?with ASE this was not a problem, FSX and FS9 use the same weatherprogram.but now we have different!Hifi, Tips please!Alti

Hello...long time reader and purchaser... first time forum poster.I've been using AS2012 happily since it was released. My prefferred flying is usually long haul and more often than not flying over the ocean.Something I have been noticing however is how cloudy the ocean is... very.Currently I am enroute to KLAX from VHHH, and ever since passing Japan, the skies below me have not been empty. I have checked the satellite imaging for the pacific area as while I know there are some thunderstorms in the area, i would of expected the clouds to build up the closer I got. Hey,since february 16th , three days ago, my ASE METAR doesn´t update.Today it is february 19th but ASE still shows the METAR from febraury 16th.Any ideas or suluton?Thanks in advance :-)Edit - SOLUTION FOUND by myself:For three days now I´m trying to fix that problem. Now I found it out by myself, a few minutes after writing my post.I am using FS9 and FSX, so I checked the ASE function "FS9 or FSX" in the options menu. Hi,I am getting a problem lately where I set up a flightplan, start FS9, but the Pressure keeps changing every 30 seconds or so whilst on the ground. It switches between the QNH and 1013 (the altimeter keeps swinging between the two altitudes).It seems that it keeps setting the correct weather, then, 30 seconds later it sets some kind of standard weather, then back to the correct weather.I only seem to notice the pressure changing,ThanksNeil

The squares are gone after aplying the beta patch but I was flying around chicago today and into last night and all stations were reporting overcast but there were many big holes and lots of blue sky around in the snowstorm. Perhaps I am being to pickey but I do remember a time when there was allways a complete overcast when their was one with ASE not to long ago. Maybe I just did not notice it as much as I do now. Seems like there was redered another layer immediatly above the first one that solved this, I remember reading about that as well in the ASE or AS6.5 manual of the past. Hi HiFi...I'm sure this has been brought up before, however the "new" search engine here on AVsim didn't come up with much...I'm doing a lot of flying on Scandinavia, an I get my routes from EuroFPL, which are always CFMU validated with the newest AIRAC... I process the route with Simroutes for a FSX FP, but as with AS2012 simroutes aer not AIRAC updated.Result is that many of my routes in AS2012 consist only of dep/arr ID, because the fixes and airways simply doesn't exist en FSX/AS2012/simroutes. Therefor my enroute weather planning with regards to avarage windcomponents as well as LEG based winds, and of course descend planning, is not possible..1. Are there any known …

Today after some checking of differences in ASE and AS2012 I changed some settings and did a flight between ESMQ (Kalmar) and ESGG (Gothenburg) because I saw it was OVC003 and OVC006 in both places.And this is what I've got. OVC006 at takeoff from ESMQ I almost right away lost sight of the ground, was in a grey mess until 7-8000 and broke out of the clouds. In future up dates would it be possible to be able to change the distance that the destination airport locks its wx? I just purchased ASE for fs9. I had been using fsmeteo for many, many years. I had the destination locked at 120 nm. nm is too close when using atc. The other night I was flying into klas and winds were 220 at 17 gust 27. But then atc cleared me for 7R and my other option was 1L/R. I was told that once atc has you start decending it has the rwy picked already and winds where you're at determin the rwy. If they're way different from the airport like I had at klas you could have a big tail wind. Fsmeteo lets you choose the distance. And usually atc…

FYI, for those who like myself, use Flightsim Flight Keeper (FSFK) and rely on Activesky for weather data in FSFK, Thomas Molitar will update FSFK in the next version to look for the AS2012 directory in the FSFK weather options.Until then, simply go to your \UserName\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\AS2012 directory and copy the existing AS2012.cfg file to the same directory and rename the copy to "ASE.cfg". Then go iinto the FSFK weather settings and point the ActiveSky data path to the AS2012 folder with this ASE.cfg.

I've recently purchased Activesky Evolution and am suffering violent windshifts where the wind shifts 180 degrees in fractions of a second (enough to go from a 70knot overspeed to stall on a flight just now, having 5 shifts in about). Reading back it seems that virtual stations and enhanced route coverage could be a cause, but both options are disabled on my setup...

The Flightwatch / ATIS with AS2012 is giving me the altimeter setting in QNH not Inches, how do I change this?

Hi, I have the following problem. Everytime I have flight from or to EHAM - route done by FS Commander - it is nor recognized by... import flight plan in ASE or ASA previously. Everytime I try to do this, I get empty fields which can not be filled and twice got CTD...Anyone has the same problem?

In AS2012 I'm still confused about the interaction between the graphics button (where you install themes) and the option that comes up after processing a flight plan asking whether you want the install AS2012 graphics.If you install a theme, do you still need to install AS2012 graphics or should you not, because AS2012 graphics will overide the theme?I may be confused by the terminology, frankly, but I can't make heads or tails out of this issue in the manual.Would appreciate some guidance.Thanks.Dan Cole

Hi Damian !I´am a ASE(with Xgraphics) User and I`d like to take Advantage of the Discount.My Problem is that due to my slow internet-connection I´am not able to d/l such a big package.So, if buy AS2012 now, could I download it later in the near or far future at any time ?Or is it even posible to download and install just the Weather-Engine and the graphics later ?Thank you !Sorry my bad English

I'm running FSX/SP2. I'm leaving EGLL(England) and headed to OEPS(Saudi Arabia). It's 2:30 in the morning and should be pitch black. As Active Sky 2012 is downloading the weather the pitch black turns brighter, brighter and brighter until it looks like daytime, but when I use the F12(Satellite View) it shows the area and half the planet for that matter night time. As I climb through 1,000ft. in my plane it starts getting darker, darker and darker until it becomes dark again. I am using REX OD for textures but dont see how that would play into it. My usual method for start up is: start AS '12 and then after it downloads info go staraight to "start FSX" I'm not sure…
