Had a very nice flight from SUMU to SBRJ. Forecast called for TS but I didn't think I would see any... At gate and it starts to rain... (GSX supplied loaders and catering) Shortly after takeoff, Clearing with a bit of haze left over All clear! Thanks to AS2012, Shade and of course PMDG for a nice WX experience!

Hi, I have been recently flying GA low and slow and I noticed that there are clouds that hug the ground. I don't mean fog, I mean like clouds that should be at 15000' are hugging the ground at 3 or 4 thousand. There are also clouds up where they should be. How can I get rid of them? I have ASE build 655 and use REX textures. I dont think the textures matter as I am controlling the weather with ASE, not REX's engine. Thanks in advance.

This is a strange one.... Up until recently i ran FSX with acceleration and ASE2012 with no issues. Unfortunately the pc packed up so i had to purchase a new one so the process of installing flight sim stuff began... I installed FSX with only SP1 (had to leave acceleration/sp2 due to loss of vsync with AMD drivers) and then installed ASE2012. However when the texture backup is run it is aborted due to the following....'could not find file D:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator x\Texture\OceanHeight20FieldLayer1.dds'. Looking in the texture folder there are similar named dds files but nothing with a 1 at the end. So...as Pc was fair…

Hi, Ive been using AS6.5 for many many years now and it ran absolutely great with my older video card and 2ghz dual core cpu. Now that keep the same memory and mobo, I only upgraded my video card from a 512MB Radeon X1950PRo to a 1gig memory Radeon 4670 (AGP) card and the CPU from a 2.3ghz dual core to a 3.06ghz dual core, the sim runs nice and smooth with a constant frame rate of 30 (locked). However I have noticed when using AS6.5 and there are clouds in the area, the frames will start jumping from 30 to 17, 30 to 24, 30 to 13 for example and I start to get stutters that wont go away unless I go back to windowed mode and then again to full screen. Just purchased AS2012 last night. Have been a REX user for the past two years. I must say, I've seen a huge difference in frame rates. Even with a Black Widow 850w psu and an Nvidia 560ti on a quad core system with 8mb ram I was still having to lower my texture and resolution settings when using REX weather. This is probably due to the addon airports I usually fly out of and into and due to the addon aircraft I usually fly. (i.e. PMDG 737ngx, LDS 767, etc.) However, with AS2012 I have been able to significantly raise my settings and maintain higher fps using live weather than I ever did with REX. Hi there, I need somebody's help regarding my problem and maybe other users are facing off this problem too. I have been receiving old data from the servers of hifiim for couple of weeks when I open the programme. It keeps providing with the very old data and does not download the latest metar, therefore regardless of wherever I am, I am always 3 or 4 hours behind the correct latest metar time which is calculated in Zulu. Here is an example. At LTBA (Istanbul Ataturk Airport) The the local time is 21.00 so the zulu is -3 behind which is 18.00Z but the metar that was provided by AS is from 09.20Z or something like that and it does not update. I see that the purchase information on AS 2012 mentions at one point 25GB available and at another point 100GB hard drive space needed. The latter is a huge amount, and I am not sure I have the room or want one program to take up that much space. How much space then does a standard working installation really need on my hard drive? Also I live in US how do I avoid paying the VAT when I purchase it online? Thanks Greg

Greetings, How does the activation for upgrade option of AS2012 works if ASE is installed on second computer? What I mean is that all graphic files should be installed on FSX machine and weather engine files on another, so should I expect any problems with licencing if upgrade option requires ASE to be installed? Also do I need to install all 25GB on both PCs, etc? Sorry for my English, I didn't use for few months... ;) Regards,

Back in the mists of time, there used to be a problem when installing custom landing & taxi lights as part of graphic snapshots prevented the lights illuminating the ground. As far as I remember, this was aircraft specific with the top quality add-ons of the time [probably the LDS 767 and the original PMDG 737] being particularly problematic as I suppose perhaps they weren't using standard light effects in the first place. Since then I've never loaded custom aircraft lights as a matter of habit but having just upgraded to AS 2012, I was just wondering if anyone was still seeing that problem [pardon pun] or whether it had definitely gone away. Hello,so, not a long i noticed something very annoying, i am playing online on vatsim, and everytime when i am doing a flightplan and then installing the theme, there's a stuttering problem i mean when i move the pinter(mouse) soetimeit stutter, and it's very annyoing, i also tried without installing a theme, and it stuttered again., but when i am not playing online things seems to be fine.so what am i dong wrong? should i now install a theme? because i like it, it more accurate.thanks in advance folks!

Hi. I had a PC problem and had to do a Windows 7 repair. That may just be coincidental, but I find that AS6.5 is now taking much, much longer to process the flight plan data. When I click on New Route, import a flight plan and then click 'process', each waypoint is now taking up to 10 seconds. It used to run through a dozen or more in the same time.All other performance parameters seem fine - GEPro files load very fast, for instance. What is the processing time for flight plans dependent upon? Can I get my old speed back somehow?Thanks,Martin

Unable to download weather either through ASE or AS6.5. This has been happening for more than an hour. Anyone else?

So I still have ASv6 and use it for FS2k4 on windows XP but I noticed now it does not download the latest METAR as I recall it used to, now its 2-3 hours behind, I have it set to sync with my system time not the FS time and yet this continues to happen. For example it will be 15:50z ASv6 will be using 13:52z instead of say 14:53z or or even the 15:50z update. How can I fix this? Or do I need to upgrade? The reason I haven't upgraded is two reasons: A) I like my setup and B) ASE doesn't come with any graphics, ASE I think works with FS2k4 but ASv2012 does not) and C) ASv6 works with GEPro I don't know of anything else that would work, I don't really "need" t…

Hi Gents:Xguage window does not open on this aircraft, all I get is a blinking hour glass, even when shift 5 is pressed again to close, hour glass just keeps blinking and computer performance drops drasctically, I have to exit and restart flight and be careful not to hit shift 5, have been unable to uninstall Xguage from that aircraft or any other cause I cant find the uninstaller.

Hello, I've been using ActiveSky 6.5 for years now and have notice a problem that the METAR's are not updating like they should. The current reports are at least 2-5 hours even longer since the last update. Is there anyway to fix this problem? This has been tested at other Airports and not just one in particular area. Also is there a way to get unlimited cloud layers? I was doing a flight from RDU to MDW and noticed there were some clouds but not layers like you would see in real life, It was supposed to be overcast but instead it looked like a huge cloud over the airport and then blue sky :( I do have a registerd verison of FSUIPC.I have attached a image of my current s…

Hi guys,Just bought AS 2012 a few days back and had it running on my FSX PC. However, I noticed a huge lost in frame rates 30FPS to about 10FPS average. Side question, anyone had a problem with this? I'm using 2048x2048 on 3D cloud, the rest are on highest setting.Anyway, back to topic. So today I tried installing AS onto another PC that I had on the same network so that it can help reduce the load on my FSX PC. Installation went successfully and selection of folders was smooth too. Hi All, After doing maybe 2 flights, sometimes the weather will stop. Active sky is still downloading and producing weather, and the XGauge map shows I should be in a cloud. But the sky is clear, like total clear with not a cloud in the sky. I can do a workaround by rebooting FSX and rebooting AS2012, but since they take a long time to startup it's not ideal especially if losing state of a complex plane. Does anyone know why this could happen?

I recently made the switch from Active Sky X to Active Sky 2012. At the moment I am using REX 2.0 for textures and lighting, and using Active Sky 2012 for weather. Some of the AS2012 textures look quite nice and figured I would try them.After selecting all my textures and such in AS2012 and went ahead and hit "INSTALL" I get an unhandeled exception error. I have rebooted, reinstalled FSX, reinstalled AS2012, etc. So am I stuck with REX 2.0 textures or is there a way for me to fix this so I can try the AS2012 textures.P.S. Also in your guys opinion is this something I should not worry about if I already have REX 2.0 for reasons of REX having better textures? I just thought…
