AS2012 is wonderfullThe framerates is good, and the colours wauw.I installe the new update and I got problems. When I started Radar Contact the plane (PMDG 737 NGX) moved into KLAX airport in the center of the terminal and the radar contact menu dissappeared. Imagine a Delta Airlines pilot turning the knob on the radio panel and teleport into the terminal building. We cannot have this.I decided to reinstall AS 2012 without the latest update and now the radar contact menu are present again. All the bestJens

This topic was the subject of discussion on this forum several months ago but as far as I am aware no solution was ever offered. The problem is surface winds and temperature at regional airports in New Zealand (and to a lesser extent, Australia) as depicted in ASE (Build 645). Major airports of NZAA, NZWN and NZCH and minor airports in their close vicinity depict correct surface conditions but airfields outside these areas (about 85% of all NZ airfields) typically show the surface wind of 225 Degrees at 0 Knots and the temperature 10-15 degrees lower than it should be. ASV 6.5 (Build 533) does not have this problem. Examples of conditions at 192140Z are:NZWB WoodbourneASE…

Hy all,Flying the NGX with FSUIPC on FSX (w7 64bits) with ASE, it seems that ATC send me to the runway corresponding with the ATIS at destination. I think I am in DWC mode. Before departure last night, I saw the WXR at destination with wind 120/9 and +24 in temperature which allow me to land on RWY9. Arrived near destination, at FL120, when FSX ATC give me clearance, I am asked to process for RWY27... I then check the ATIS at destination which give 243/20 and -9... Switching to ASE WXR report, I saw quite the same data I have before the flight, but I undersatnd that the ATIS given during the flight is the ATIS at the current altitude and not the ATIS at the airport level…

I am a ASE + XGraphics user, thinking to upgrade to AS2012.I also use the shader 3.0 mod which was a big fps boost for me because of my ATI card. Unfortunatelly since I installed the shader 3.0 mod I can't use the neat "graphics snapsot" feature because it installs shader model 2 shaders which cause a big fps drop.-Is there any way to prevent "graphics snapshot" to install shader model 2 shaders?-Will I have the same problem if I upgrade to AS 2012?Thanks in advance for any suggestions,

Hi,I have a couple of questions related to AS 2012 & PMDG 737 NGX.1) I plan a flight, for example, from EETN to LKPR (CRZ ALT F400). When I need to know what the CRZ TAS is going to be, I have to know the OAT in that level -- then I calculate speed mach 1 (in kts) according to that OAT and multiply it by the mach number which is going to be my CRZ (ECON from FMC); the speed that is economical for me in F400 is mach 0.782 … that's why I need accurate OAT -- BUT here I see the problem: For filling T/C OAT in FMC, I always find any airport that is located near by the T/C point (seen from NavDisplay), then I write this ARPT (ICAO) to the Active Sky (Wx Report) to see the …

Hi there,Lately, I am getting a warning screen after AS2012 has downloaded weather. is says: "Over 3000 data reports are being ignored due to their date/time stamp being too old. Please check your computer clock..."Situation:- AS2012 (B4363) installed on 2nd PC.- Using Sim Time and GMT- Computer clocks are all correct (not in the future)- FSX started and situation loaded with time set at 28 june 2011, 16.30GMT at KSHM airportWhen I then start AS2012 on the 2nd PC it shows FSX connected, but the time is shown as the actual real world time (GMT+1). Immediately AS2012 begins downloading the current weather.Only after 30 seconds, the displayed time in AS2012 changes into the …

On page 11 of the AS2012 manual is states: Disable turbulence and thermal effects on aircraft: Check this option to disable all turbulence and thermal effects from FSX itself (may help with high-fidelity add-on aircraft autopilot s-turn issues). Is this implying that AS2012 now handles all turbulance and thermal effects so it no longer needs to be enabled in FSX or have I misread it and unticking the checkbox will disable these effects completely?ThanksSteve

This is really, really picky. I hit wake turbulence crossing the threshold while landing in a light aircraft behind a heavy, me 7 or so miles behind. Wind was coming a little from the left, relative to my direction, so I should have hit the LEFT wing's vortex that would have been blowing left to right with the wind. The left wing rotates clockwise so I should have been pushed to the right. Instead it flipped me to the left! But it was awesome anyway, and nice to be woken up like that on a calm approach and have to suddenly fight for survival!Oh, and I'm referring to Active Sky Evolution.

Hello guys,The other day i did a little flight of about 400 nm and because the SID ended and the STAR started on the same waypoint, the flight plan of my flight was only that waypoint and the two ICAO codes. So i load this flight plan on AS2012, it did was supposed to, and everything was great. The only thing that got me thinking was that the cruise temp was hotter than expected, and I notice that on the flight plan preview screen the average temp for the flight was around -20°, and that because the flight plan had only one waypoint, and that's ok. But because this average temp, I was on cruise level (FL350) long before the only waypoint on my flight plan with a temp of -1…

Hi,Thanks for the excellent work made over FS2012. It offers an incredible realism and graphics quality. The definitive master piece software for weather depicting.During my initial testing, I have found this issue relating with the main screen:As you can see, the botton doesn't show properly the buttons, that are cutted.Never this problem with ASE. My video drivers are updated, and my resolution is 1366x768.Windows 7 Home Edition x64. PPP settings: 100%Thanks.

I'm at a loss. It's currently 21:41 in my time zone, but the GMT shown on the AS2012 screen shows 5:41. That's + 8 hours. The GMT is 6 hours ahead of CST, not 8. Am I in the twilight zone or did Greenwich move?Larry Pahlman - Fayettevile, Arkansas where's it's now 21:46 (3:46 GMT)

Hi,In Active Sky 2012, I create a manual flight plan on Flight Plan page (not imported from any flight planning tool). In this example, it is a very simple plan with two waypoints in addition to departure and destination airports:CYVR YYJ RBG KSFO (please see the attached pdf document for screenshots)The map page (see the screenshots in the attached doc) shows the correct route. After going to ‘flight plan’ page, I click on ‘Enter Plan’ and then I click on ‘process’ in order to generate my Wx themed files (Install AS2012 Graphics option). As soon as I click on ‘Process’ all the waypoints between the departure and destination airports get deleted (in this case YYJ and RBG wa…

Is there a way to assign different cabin variations to aircraft repaints? I have a lot of Delta variations in my Captain Sim 757 folder, and I would like to know if I can assign some custom cabins to each of the repaints in that folder.

Running 2012 on a remote machine, it will start with no problems. However sometimes when going to the Map page and clicking on center on aircraft, it will not make the connection. The check will not appear in the checkbox.I recently rebuilt the remote machine thinking it was a simconnect issue. Upon rebuild completion, the ai traffic test worked first try. Loading textures works and 2012 loads normally.I guess my questions is, what does it mean when 2012 will complete the start process that incldues connection with simconnect but the map does not work where it will not aacept the check within the checkbox for center on aircraft? Thanks,

Bought 2012 the day it came out. Loaded it and took off into the skys of the Pacific Northwest. Looking outside my window and see several cloud layers and all. 2010 was giving me some puffy while clouds with a lot of blue sky, and that is the picture I have had; even when 2010 gave me snow; puffy white clouds with a lot of blue with a driving snowstorm. Well this morning I did my doumb thing.Opened the 2010 manual and staretd reading. Hand another inspired moment and lookied into the program. Found a Readme.txt and did just that, read those instructons. Decided to configure everything according to what I read. I now have a very beautiful FSX screen filled with what is ver…

Hello!Very happy with AS2012 so far, just have 2 quirks I would like to iron out (or set-up AS2012 correctly, for that matter).First, on a transpacific flight, along the SCIR --> SCEL leg, I had a 5,000 ft drop in my cruise level from FL360 to FL310 approx.Second, while descending towards SAEZ, as soon as ATIS was picked-up, I noticed ATIS was reporting conditions at altitude, matching OAT (-45 ºC) and winds (45 kn). Many thanks!Cheers,- jahman.

I do not know if it is the best place for this, but I am in deep need of something, which will provide me vital information about weather surrounding the airplane. Something very similar to the X-Gauge, but operated via WideFS rather than coupled to the FSX plane's panel as a 2D popup. Of course it has to work under Windows 7 OS.It may be a feature request for current and future AS2012 owners maybe - standalone X-gauge powered by wideFS or different networked solution.Do You fellow simmers are aware of such tool? It could be real aviation tool, I am prepared to pay for the thing, but has to provide worldwide weather fir at least couple for months back. MET reports besides…

I really don't understand this mode.If prevent cloud redraws is selected the weather won't change, right? So what's the point of updating weather as you go?If i disable it, then clouds pop in and out every weather update, horribly unrealistic. In ASE, with DWC and prevent cloud redraws disabled, the clouds fade in, rather than pop up out of nowhere. Is this a bug with AS2012?Can somebody explain how you can get an accurate weather depiction over a long flight with prevent cloud redraws enabled?I'm baffled.Stu
