Hi guys, well this may not be an ASE issue but why are my wind speeds off in my reality xp gns. They are good in fsx as you can see by the red lettering at the top (that one macthes the ASE value spot on). I use DWC without "prevent cloud redraws", I have ticked "use additional stations" and "enhance route coverage". I also tried with and without the wind smoothing option in fiuspc but I still get the different reading regarding the wind speed in the gns. Any help would be highly appreciated at this point. I have a question regarding .ast files. On the Map Screen page in ASE, there is an option to drag and drop a weather set onto a specific location on the map. These are shown in a tree view on the right of the map and are just generalizations (clear skies .ast, instrument conditions, etc.). 1) Where are these files stored (directory)? 2) Can we create our own? 3) If we can, how? Hi must I still change WeatherReadFactor=2 to WeatherReadFactor=0 in FSUIPC 4.759 to get accurate weather readings from ASE2012?. Thanks

Can I have AES 2012 installed on my CLient and Server PC and it still work? I just wanted to know since sometime I have my laptop avaiblbe to use as a client but sometime I dont, so I wanted to know if Im ok to install it on two computers? Cheers

So eventhough I've had the program for atleast a year, I literally just found out about the whole PIREP thing that they included. The feature I think is cool, but the one problem I run into with it is that since I have so many addons running, when I minimize FS9 to my desktop to open ASE to make a PIREP my computer will take forever to first load the desktop and then load up minimized programs. Is there a way to possibly run ASE on another computer somehow, or any alternate way to file PIREPS? I've been messing around with XGauge, but it seems like you can't file them from there, only view them. It would have been real cool to beable to create a PIREP through Xgauge t…

Help Please, I have ASE correctly installed on my client and FSX on server is receiving wx data. The ' start FS' button is greyed out on the ASE main panel. How can I rectify this? Many thanks Peter Wilshire

Hello I am trying to generate severe weather in ASE2012 and cant seem to notice any effects in FSX (ie. severe setting used for turbulance/wind shear/ icing in Edit Wx however there is no apparent effect in the sim?). My cloud and wind options are set for at least 30% minimum and 100% maximum effects. Is this a limitation in FSX? Is there any additional Drag and Drop ast weather files out there that I can use which will depict severe weather conditions in FSX? Any advice would be appreciated! John

Hey folks, I have a particular problem with my new VRi CDU II and AS2012. Option 1: I start the CDU II and the VRiSim Software before I start AS2012, then this results in having the sky black. But not at every angle of view, when I look to the left everthing seems to bee fine, but straight ahead and to the right, the sky is black. I can see clouds though. Option 2: I start AS2012 first and the the CDU II with its software, then this results in the CDU screen remaining black. No problem with the weather or sky in this case, but I cannot use the CDU. Does anyone has an idea? I'm happy for every suggestion.

Hi everybody I've been using ASE with FS9 for around a year, and around 6 months over a network using WideFS. Everything works fine, but the Xgauge itself is always really slow to update, although it eventually does (and shows the correct info, etc etc). Sometimes there can be a delay of up to a minute when adjusting the scale or wind height. I've ticked the higher processes tab, and also set the ASE process to 'realtime' via the task manager, but to no avail. Has anyone else got a slow Xgauge or knows how to quicken it up? I just installed and am learning Active Sky 2012 for my FSX system. It appears that I am constrained by the product when it comes to specifying the weather i want to use for a sim session. In FSX I can download real-time weather if I want, but I can also specifically define the weather I want to simulate for my session (clear, storms building, active thunderstorms, fogged in, heavy snow). So suppose I'm bored with flying in Active Sky's downloaded real-time summer weather and I want to try some winter flying. Or it's a cloudless day outside but I want to cope with some storms. Can I force Active Sky to simulate a winter environment, or any other weather options (…

This would be real nice to be able to do. Can it be done? Through FSUIPC maybe. This is so I do not have to task out to do it. Thanks

When I am in the create a flight menu after loading fsx, if I change the time before selecting fly now, no clouds load but the winds do.This is using AS2012 but also had same problem with ASE

For the tasks I've used it, XGauge is working great for me. But in both IFR View and Landing View, the XGauge instrument (box with map) that displays when I press Shift +5 is obscured behind the panel (see attached screenshot). In Normal View, Vital Gauges Only View, and No Guages View modes, the XGauge box displays fine - on the instrument panel like I want it to be. I use Landing View often. Is there anything I can do to display XGauge on that panel or do I just have to move it somewhere like the top right corner so it's always visible but hides part of the sky? Thanks, MH

I just upgraded to AS 2012. I went into the snapshot screen in graphics and noticed the auto generate function. I created 20 screenshots for stormy wx. Does this mean that if I do a flight plan in bad wx that one of the themes I created in stormy will be selected ? When I enter a flight plan I am asked if I want to install AS 2012 graphics or snapshot graphics. Are AS 2012 graphics wx influenced ? When using the flight planner if I select install AS 2012 graphics is the selection made from all textures or only existing themes ? Is the snapshot function intended for users of add ons such as REX only. I am currently using the graphics in AS 2012. Finally what effect does us…

I have set up ASE as per the readme etc. but i still get throttle variances up and down during cruise with PMDG NGX. Also i still seem to get a slight tendancy to S-turn. Is there something else i should be reading besides the Readme file? Thanks in advance,

Hi there, I've been using ASE2012 on a second machine in my home network with no issues. It connected first time, and I've got it running with P3d too! A question: when using FSX with ASE over SimConnect, I set up a flight plan in ASE, choose to install ASE2012 graphics, and it then takes about twenty minutes (no joke - it's on 60% now and it's been running for about ten mins already) to transfer the graphic theme to the FSX master PC I have no speed issues transferring other files between these machines, I have ESET SmartSecurity x64 on both with specific rules allowing all traffic between both machines, and have disabled protocol filtering on ASE, but it is…

Hi, since i have installed the SP3 I am having bad issues with fog. The main issue is related to bad lines at the horizon and graphic artifacts. The issue is progressive (as showed in the attached pictures (the scenery is showed in a good way at the beginning (first picture), but after a few and in different steps the final reults are artifacts at the horizon like shown in the last picture). Untl the SP3 I did not have this issue (by the way the picture show a station reporting 6 miles for visibiity and I use the DWC mode)\) Any support is appreciated to understand what I do eventually wrong Thanks and best regards Joe

oh c'mon really??????!!!!! Nooo yeah I uninstalled ASv6, but it appears that ASE CAN use ASG (the graphics side) of AS6 that's alright I have REX anyway I got it awhile back. But why isn't there any way to use REX graphics with ASE weather like AS6 used GEPro (ASE can do that too), and so it seems to have no problem with ASG either; so why not REX? I see they continue to have Beta releases for ASE... try it! You will have happier customers if you can make ASE work with REX! Right now on a scale of 1 to 100 I'm at 50 with you people!

This may not be the place for this post, but I don't have anywhere else to turn. I have been trying unsucessfully to create a customer account for HiFi support. I bought a new computer and need to download ASE which I originally purchased as an upgrade to Active Sky. The first time I tried to create an account I got a message stating that when the account was activated I could submit a ticket. When I heard nothing for a couple of days I inquired as to when my account would be activated. I got a response telling me to create an account which I had done 2 days earlier. hey, sorry - I used the wrong words for my problems. The topic is not about winds aloft but winds on the ground link crosswinds or turbulences!!! ;-) taking off with prop planes causes stuttering of the whole FSX when there are crosswinds or turbulences by other aircrafts. I can´t fix the problem and I don´t have any idea of the problem. Hi i was just wondering when i am at 39,000 feet i notice the clouds are still quite close when in real life they are alot lower. Is there any way to alter this. I have attatched an example of what i mean in real life. Kind Regards Chris
