Hello, Is there a difference between the weather engine of ASE and AS2012? Because I want to buy a good weather engine, but the textures are not needed, so I want only a weather engine. And ASE is cheaper.

Hi. Why do I manually have to refresh the weather in AS2012 to get the latest WX on descend/landing @ destination airport? It seems that in 9/10 flights the weather at destination wont load as reported in the METAR until I manually refresh it. The online updates in the settings tab are set to 5min to try to get it better, but still no luck.

hello all, i am sure that this questions has been answered before and i have tried to look up answers in the forum, the net, and the manual, but quite honestly i am a bit overloaded with info now and not sure what to do (deer in the headlights feeling). the other day i am flying from boston to nantucket, with weather conditions in nantucket showing zero visibility, fog, and rain. during approach, from 7000ft to about 2500ft, the weather conditions were exactly what i expected. then about 6mi out and below 2500ft, visibility suddenly opened and i had a clear view of the runway though conditions were overcast and rainy. about 2mi out and 1000ft or so, suddenly no visibility…

I am wondering why there are so few reactions after the release of SP1. Even Damian and Chris seem to be on Holliday because on the status screen, there is still no mention of the update. I'm using the active sky 2012 original textures as those give the best visuals for me. SP1 has enhanced the visuals quite a bit, so I"m a happy camper. Hi guys, I'm a long time user of AS products and have been extremely happy and recommended to countless friends. Anyway, I made the jump to a new system Win7-64, and now us FSX. I've been having lots and lots of Fatal Errors, so I did a HD reformat and reloaded everything because I couldnt find the problem. Short story is that I firmly believe that AS2012 is somehow causing the my Fatal Errors in FSX when I'm connected to VATSIM. Hi guys, Just have a quick problem that i wish to discuss with you guys not sure whether there is a solution or that i am using the wrong settings with AS2012. The problem is when i am approaching an airport, lets say fort lauderdale, when i am assigned my runway by ATC say about 70 miles i am sometimes assigned to runway that shouldn't be active. For example the surface winds according to AS2012 at fort lauderdale were 085/7 however in normal circumstances ATC should of assigned 09L at fort lauderdale however then assigned me 27R however when i a lot closer to ATC started assigning aircraft to runway 09. I have just moved AS2012 to another computer and now run a network setup. I notice that the option to "Launch FSX after Theme install" is no longer present. Is this normal on a networked installation.

I was using AS12 Beta just fine up until today. I noticed that the AS12 program released it's SP1 update. I loaded a flight and tried to start AS12. I recieved an error message that states - "A critical error occured: Application failed to load - Root element is missing" I thought that the new SP1 update might need to be downloaded and executed to fix this error. I download and installed the new SP1. Same result. I now can't run the program at all. The same error message occurs. What gives?

Gents, Quick question - If an airport, say Aerosoft Amsterdam or Madrid for example, is supplied with multiple afcad files that should be selected in advance of flight according to wind direction, how can one be sure of selecting the correct one bearing in mind weather changes once you are en-route? Is there a way of fixing destination wx so as to ensure correct afcad selection? I use radar contact and ASE. Hello all, I have been having issues with ASE crashing just after the Flight Simulator version select screen all of a sudden. I have never had any issues with it prior to now I am completely unable to use ASE. I've searched and searched over the forums and google and have yet had to successful results seems like I am the only one having the problem lol. I was wondering: I have two installs of Win7 on the very same computer. Will they have identical IP addees? or each there own Cause I wanna use AS2012 on each and they track that info. Same computer after all, or maybe it is not seen as such?

I have a question regarding the use of AS2012. Normally you have to load the flightplan and install the textures before starting and connecting with FSX. However, I was just wondering, say I have finished my flight at the destination airport, and I want to continue with my next flight without restarting FSX. Is it possible to just load a new flightplan into AS2012 without disconnecting from FSX? Using this method it's obvious that you cannot install the textures as FSX has to be closed for that. If this is not possible, can I just continue my flight to the next destination and will AS2012 display accurate weather along the route to my next destination even if …

I use ActiveSky2012 on a networked machine. A group of us were flying to an airport with a ceiling of 400 feet as reported by AS2012. When I arrived, I broke out at 1,100 feet. I was using DWC, have the cfg "cloud density" set to 12. What might have been wrong and what can I do so I receive the expected weather at the destination? Brad

Hi All, I have a question - I'm flying a Concorde at FL550 and getting 0 wind but lots of turbulence.... This seems very wrong!! Using Active Sky 2012 direct weather control... Usually would expect very high winds but not with AS2012!! Any ideas? James

Every now and then, I encounter this tremendous wind shear just before touchdown. The plane banks instantly about 40 degrees for a few seconds, then back. This is unrealistic, as the plane pretty much becomes uncontrollable. No thunderstorms or such in the area. I am using FS9. Could this be caused by ActiveSky, or maybe settings within FS9? I could not find a similar post here. Jim

Hello all, I have been a very very happy AS v6.5/FS9 user for many years. I am still a very happy FS9 user but now use ASE. I hope to be very happy with ASE but have one small problem. They way I fly is I d/l the real weather...then imput my FS flightplan into ASE...refresh and then shutdown ASE. This used to work perfectly with AS 6.5 as it would update the weather all along my route. But ASE while it will tell you what the weather will be like along the route does not actually update the weather in the sim all along the route. So I have to keep ASE active. I would like to shut it down. Is it possible to update the weather all along my route in AS…

Hi all, I'm still using ActiveSky 6.5 for FS9 on WinXP 32bit. It all worked perfect but for some reason for a few weeks now all the time I want to create a weather report for my flightplan (Clicking on New Route -> Inputting a flightplan from a file) it's working veeery slowly and it can take up to 5 minutes until ASv6.5 creates a simple and short flightplan consisting only of 10 waypoints! The same goes for the "Fetch a report" function. It takes up to one minute for ASv6.5 loading the weather of one single airport.
