Can somebody tell me how to get my REX textures into a snapshot in ASE. I have read the manual a dozen times and i am darned if i can figure it out. All i can see on the screen is 'No snapshot available. I just cant figure out how to take it in the first place and preview it. Sorry for being so dense, but i am obviously missing something. Hi! I am using Active sky 2012, and since i reinstalled FSX my visibility goes from what i want (foggy at cruise)... or how to describe it... It stays like that for a couple of minutes... then all the clouds dissapear for a while, then the clouds reappear again... this is really annoying and it must be something I have forgot to set in FS... I have clicked "Clear weather options in FSUIPIC so I dont think thats the problem... any suggestions?

hello i notice im my last 3-4 flts, when i load FP an USE VATSIM WX, when i arrive to my destination the actual wx is not updates , it actually the one that was when i depart from origine for example: i flew today LKPR-LOWW when i depart LKPR, winds in LOWW was 140 @8, when i was on rwy final LOWW, wind was still 140@8 although metar report shows 160@8. when i was on LOWW stand i tried remove V from vatsim WX chkbox and the WX updated on FSX to the currect one. any idea? will it be ok without VATSIM weather? thanks

Hi, What is needed to get AS2012 working with P3D? I have read elsewhere that you need to edit the config.xml file. I have tried that but AS2012 still asks for the FSX install directory. Anybody willing to share how it is done :) Ted

Hope someone has the answer for this one. I have installed and setup ASE. I use FS9 with a registered FSUIPC. For some reason ASE does not seem to connect to FS9 as the weather does not change from the default that loads with FS9. Anyone have any ideas? Don Brashears

Had to reinstall ASE on a WideFS machine, which is working correctly (RC, FSC etc): The first time it asked for the FS9 path and didnt like the one I gave (It MIGHT have been the wrong path) and now simply says "Cant find the path, will now close" - which is a bit silly: saying "Lets have another go" would be a bit more helpful..Re-sinstalled. Now ASE wont even TRY to find the path: simply says "Cant find, going to close, try again".How do I get around this?

Morning. Just noticed something today. Flying my concorde to KJFK from EGLL and once above around FL500 all upper level winds die and to go zero. I have virtual stations and create extra stations checked. Any idea why? Thanx!-Rick

Hello I was doing some testing tonight due to an issue with Radar contact not picking up the correct weather which incidently was fixed after much heartache by deleting FSUIPC and fresh install. At YBCG the weather had scattered and broken cloud with light rain, I then closed FSX and restarted FSX and reloaded AS2012 and YBCG had sky clear within a 2 minute window. I have noticed this frequently where the weather can contradict itself going from heavy cloud to sky clear in a matter of minutes, this is unrealistic. Can anybody shed any light on this. Just how current is it?. Lately I have been monitoring real world ATC and the weather details being transmitted to pilots often bears little relation to what AS2012 is providing. For example the date/time of the metar currently displayed for YSSY in AS2012 is 290130Z but today is the 25th (my understanding is that the first two digits are the day of the month), the current time is 0638Z some five hours later than 0130Z and the wind in the metar is18015KT very different from what is being reported by the YSSY tower at present which is 27016KT. Hi. I find that Standard Mode is the best depiction mode for AS2012 as it give most accurate weather reading and without runway conflicts. However, the visibility is always clear when airborne despite the low visibility which is reported in AS2012 Build: 4469 unlike with DWC Mode. I don't use any suppression. Is there any answers to that? Thanks.

I have spent the past few hours going over things to make sure I just didn't miss a step. The first thing is my laptop. I installed AS2012 onto it. When I start the program i get and error "Simconnect Client SP2 not found. How do I go about fixing this error. I have all simconnect files installed on my actual FSX PC and configured. As well as I have the simconnect.cfg file on the laptop configured also. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I run Active Sky Evolution on a networked computer. I find the program extremely slow in many ways. The startup takes very long time. Using the map is difficult since it updates very slowly. Is the problem that my networked computer isn't powerful enough? This is its spec AMD 64 4000 2.4 GHz 2 Gb RAM Radeon 9800PRO 128 Mb AGP IDE harddrive WD 250 Gb Win XP Home Would it be any point in upgrading the video card for the sake of ASE?

Hello I have am getting more and more into incorporating my weather information such as wind alot with my fmc pmdg 737ngx. I am having problem editing my waypoint for the SID/STAR within Active Sky. It will say ID not recognize, no idea why? is anyone having this problem? David

HEllo I have any issue with Radar Contact ATIS not matching AS2012 Weather I have installed FSUIPC 4.823 and 6.94 Wide client. RC and AS2012 are operating on the client via WideFS Without running AS2012 RC reads exactly what the weather is doing in FSX but as soon as run AS2012 it seems to not recognise the data from AS2012 and continues to read data straight from AS2012 DWC Beta SP1, I am not sure what is going on there. Perhaps I should try re installing RC4 but Pete Dowson indicated the issue may be something in AS2012, any advice appreciated Regards Wayne

Hi Guys: Question..will ASE work with AS6.5 graphics in FS9 in a weather influenced setup? I ask this as I would rather not buy a texture set unless I absolutely have to. Don Brashears

Hello. I've just upgraded to a new computer for FS9. I'm in the process of re-loading and downloading all the programs I use. However, I see that there is no longer a download option for AS6.5. Given that I'm happy with its Wx engine (though do use REX textures) how can I get is t my new computer? Is it a case of saving the AS6.5 folder in the FS9/MODULES folder to disk and reloading. I'm reluctant to pay again for another program. Thanks.

You guys did a real good job on the new AS2012 thanks.I understand why some people don't like the stock fsx haze textures, but for me, it atleast gives me a reference of when I will be descending into a lower visibility area. With the current A2012, it totally removes the haze and adds the overcast layer, which I think is cool, but only for vis below 4 miles. I would personally like to re-enable the stock haze textures but at the same time still use the AS2012 overcast layer. How can I get the old visibility haze layer back?JB

When AS2012 is installing graphics, parts of the desktop go white. Minimising and opening some windows will fix it, anyhow is only temporary. I know this is not an AS2012 problem, but out of curiosity, does anybody else experience this? What could be the reason (low memory etc)?

Hello, I've purchased ASE since 4 months now and it worked perfectly till today's afternoon. In fact, from 15:30Z, the programme is unable to connect to the servers to donwload the weather and is keeping making attempt to connect without results. Anyone who experienced the same problem? Just installed AS2012 and am in my first flight, a long one from KCVG to MMAA in the Quality Wings 757, and I'm having some problems. First, when I clicked on the A button on the QW panel (gives a smaller panel view used mainly for landing) I found it no longer works. I get a small black rectangle in the middle of my screen on the bottom and no instrument panel at all. Pressing W on the keyboard brought back the full instrument panel. Next, I've suffered several FSX crashes. The mouse starts the Windows 7 circling and FSX will take no input -- it is completely hung up. I have to shut it down and reopen. Hello, I have one AS2012 license, currently it is installed on the same machine as I run FSX on. I have a separate laptop (without FSX) which I would like to use to run AS2012 on, with network mode (simconnect) to my FSX machine. Can I use the same license or do I need a new separate one ? I want to keep AS2012 installed too on my FSX machine, because my laptop is not always available when I want to fly. But when it is, I'd like to use it on my laptop. Is this possible with a single license ? Thanks for replying. Mathieu

Where does AS2012 get the wind aloft data from? Just curious.

I'vee been seeing periodic airspeed spikes when flying AS2012 and PDMG NGX. I've made the mods to the FSX.CFG file as suggested, but am not using FSUIPC smoothing of the winds. Mostly the spikes are a couple of knots, but can be more (and trigger a momentary overspeed at cruise). I recorded flight data with FSRecorder and then converted to text to examine the raw data. What I saw was a spike in airspeed once every second (wtih 1/32th second sampling). The spike died away within the next one or two samples. Has anyone else seen this behavior? I'm hoping not to have to use FSUIPC to smooth the winds, since Active Sky shouldn't need this. Bill Rowe
