Using AS2012 smooth cloud transitions depiction mode. Went to an airport today. Set date/time to Oct 17 and 19Z. All was good: wind, temp, baro accurate. The trouble starts when I decide to change the date/time. I switched to Oct 23, 19Z, AS2012 did it's update, and the AS2012 METAR changed with new wind, temp, baro. Unfortunately, this new WX just refuses to show up in FSX. I don't know if it's an FSX issue or AS2012., but it seems like AS2012 is unable to interject the WX into FSX. The clouds appear to update; it's the wind, baro, temp that just retains the last setting. So, I "clear all weather" using FSUIPC or the FSX menu. Press refresh on AS2012 …

Hi Just got ASE and its great to have up to date WX again , just a quick question about two settings .. i use FS9 ... under the Cloud settings what do people set as Stratus cloud occurence? ... in AS6.5 i had favor Cumulus vs Stratus unticked ....and what do FS9 users do for disable haze layer ? tick or unticked ? .. in AS 6.5 i had depict FS haze layer ticked ... in ASE i have disable haze layer unticked . Hi, After trying lots of different textures both freeware and payware since I installed FSX long time ago I would like to go back to a clean state the way all textures were "out-of-the-box" in FSX SP2. I have a complete backup of a clean FSX SP2 installation. Could you please let me know what files/folders are replaced/changed by AS 2012 textures? I understand ...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Texture is one of them but are there other folders as well? Maybe there is some kind of install log I could have a look in? TIA,

After having AS 2012 installed on a second PC I uninstalled it and then re-installed it on my main FSX PC but when I'm asked to enter my product key and do so I'm informed it's an upgrade key and asks me to provide a product key for the product I'm upgrading from...so I enter several old product keys for previous HiFi products before AS 2012 (been a HiFi customer since 2004...) but the only result I get is a message that you're sorry the license key cannot be validated or something like that. I hope topic says it all: I want to disable AS2012 from inputting weather on start. I want to use to program for flight planing, weather report, winds aloft, but I don't want it to input weather into FSX. Any chances?

Hi Im thinking of getting ASE as im getting annoyed with AS6.5s weather being out of date , i have a PC , Lap top and thinking of getting a new PC (non Windows 8) in a few months so im wondering could i install it on both lappy and PC ? Thanks Rich

I have FSX Gold. I'm primarilly interested in the accuracy of weather effects (winds / turbulence, visibility, temp, smooth transition ) than in other artifacts that can certainly make FSX look even better but are of less importance to me. I see AS2012 sells for less then ASEVO. I thought ASEVO was the weather engine itself and made part of AS2012, but then it should cost less (?). What exactly are the differences between the two?

Hello: I am trying to use ASX over a network. I am getting an error when doing the simconncet test "side by side config" error. What does this mean and how do I solve the issue? Clearly, I am doing something wrong, but I have no clue. Any help wil be greatly appreciated. Thank you Michael

Hi Guys, I've been using AS2012 for a while, and I've yet to encounter a situation on an instrument approach where I can't see the runway very far in advance of minimums. I'm wondering if others have the same experience. I've done lots of instrument approach practice with FSX custom weather settings manully, but never get to use those skills because even in big a storm or fog I can still see just fine. People are talking about another weather product that does provide this, but I don't want to change because I like the AS2012 integration with FSBuild, and the winds, and the historical weather. If anyone there is succesfully getting automatically generated …

Hi Damian, Can we expect with SP2 the possibility to synchronize weather depiction between 2 or more instances of AS2012 ? I explain : I have a 3 machines configuration, each machine have FSX and AS2012 (3 licences) and these 3 machines are linked with WidevieW and WideTraffic. But, even with same configuration of each AS2012, the weather depiction on the 3 FSX are not similar, in timing and quality. So my question : can we expect a possibility to synchronize weather depiction on multi-machines configuration. Pierre

Today I installed AS2012 in a network environment and everything runs fine except the xgauge installation reports an error: - client and server are running Win7 64bit - FSX is installed on a separate drive - full access from the client to this drive (I can edit from the client any file and save it) - running the Wizard as Administrator. Hi all, Ever since getting Activesky 2012 many months ago I've been having a problem with the winds inputted by Activesky. It happens at all stages of flight from takeoff to landing, but more often than not, the wind in FSX is completely different to what Activesky 2012 is trying to input. If I open up Activesky, go to Wx Report and hit 'Refresh AI' it corrects the wind speed/direction in FSX to as it should be, but I have to continuely do this throughout the flight. I'm using a registered version of FSUIPC (Version 4.70b) and FSInn for Vatsim. Any help would be appreciated... Sam Hampson

Hi I have been using AS6.5 in FS9 for a good few years but never noticed some thing ... when i brought up the wind display with lat and long it is off by a few degs at some airports but at others like 20 degs .. eg last night sitting at an airport it was showing 145 at 36 but Active sky was showing 130 at 35 .. is this normal or have i broken some thing ?..... i have been updating the magnetic variation at the airports plus the magnetic variation bgl file but this cant effect it can it ? I just want to fly in a hurricane...hurricane Sandy is the current H1. The last three hurricanes ASE has failed - server connection -- file translation - whatever thea problem is with translating the server code to HIFI...I dont remember, I don't care, I just know I can't run ASE the last three times a hurricane has been active in the caribbean...I opened a ticket but just ranted as I am doing here....When i start ASE on 2nd computer I can't run offline...or can I? I just want to fly and not read? Sorry but I'm PO'd. The best time for me to fly is hurricane season.....

So Yesterday I was flying in KFLL and I love really close and the weather was very bad, lots of cloud. When I get to FLL in FSX almost nor clouds around........I feel like theres never enough clouds with Active Sky.....Can anyone please help?

I found this issue regarding problems with updating the winds in FSX: "Hi everyone,An issue with FSUIPC recent builds has been identified as causing wind issues in Active Sky's DWC mode when using the unregistered version, or registered version with wind smoothing disabled.This problem has been identified and fixed in 4.7.5.1" But my problem is that ive had FSUIPC 4.8 registered since before i bought ASE 2012 (which was very recently). To begin with the winds where matching real world METAR, but now theyve gotten way off. I just did a flight from SEA to SLC. ASE metar page and FS kneeboard 2 on the IPAD gave me 170/6 kts wind @ KSEA, but in FSX it was 053/10... …

I have been using ASE for a long time and always been happy with it. However now I have started to use another program for actual weather. However that program doesn't have proper weather map like ASE does, and I would like to continue using ASE to look for weather in different airports. Is there a way to stop ASE from loading weather to FSX and still use its weather map?

The glide computer in the default DG800 is giving incorrect winds from what AS2012 is saying in the ATIS at the surface. Any way to correct that? The glide computer is matching the winds reported by hitting "ctrl + z", and windsocks at different airports.
