Hi, When AS prints out the various winds aloft for each waypoint such as 068@12(-2), I realize it is from 68 degrees at 12 knots, but what is the -2 for? Also, I created historical weather for the 14th of November in offline mode. all METARs showed the correct date as the 14th. However, at the end of the weather report the AIRMET/SIGMET section shows the actual current date which is November 24. Why isn't this date also the same as the historical date the 14th.? Thanks. Hi I was wondering if there is a way to change the rate at which the visibility changes when flying through a cloud layer. For example, when I am descending through the clouds the visiblitiy goes down to very slowly. Like in steps. Is there anyway to change it so Its like you flew into a cloud than out of a cloud. I know I'm using the overcast enhancement and the cloud layer visibility is cool how it simulates how you would come out I just want it faster if thats possible. Thank You Anthony

Hi, I posted a couple of questions regarding historical weather several days ago but still have not received any reply, so I thought I'd try again. Can someone tell me what the negative value in ( ) means in the wind layers part of a weather report? For example 068@(-2). Also, when viewing the weather report to a historical date, the METAR and TAF show the correct historical date but below from the AIRMET section down the dates are all the current date. Why is this not the historical date? Thanks. Tom

When looking at the following picture you see a box I should be able to see a capture and fill in info too. However I can't enter anything, no capture exists, nor can I move the screen. Also sometimes it may be behind the larger screen that says preview unavailable in it. Apparently when I select alt-PrtScnis it not capturing anything? When I run v or PrtScn everything works fine as those things are intended within FSX. I have the latest ActiveSky 2012 with SP2. The rest of the program, so far works exactly as advertised. I have FSX with acceleration installed using Win 7 64, PMDG aircraft non-registered FSUIPC but no other addons. Not sure its a program issue ev…

Hi Just wondering if any one else has a problem with active skys weather being out of date ?... and will it be fixed at all ? its kind of off putting ... i saw another post were a user switched to ASE cos but at the moment this is not an option for me . Thanks Rich

Hi, I thought twice that I forgot to click on "close & save" in the parameters menu, but I did it fine. When I (un)check parameters like "text line", it is not saved. At least this one. Got to try the other options.

I have P3d and FSX both installed. I start Active Sky 2012 SP2 Beta and select P3D. The Start P3D button is grayed out. Is this supposed to work in the Beta?

Hi, I just purchased ACtive Sky 2012 this week; it's my first weather addon. I read thru a portion of the manual, and see you are to use 122.00, and 122.05 as flight watch freq's.. but when i tune to them, i do not recieve any information. I have tried it offline, and online (vatsim). MY process is as follows: Start AS2012 Create Flight Plan>Process It Start FSX from the AS2012 menu Create Flight PLan within FSX Start flight Connect to Vatsim (or stay offline) Tune radios to 122.00, or 122.05 Listen for up to 5 mins. Hi, I have AS2012 SP2 on my P3D box, and would like to try a network install (on my laptop) as well to see if I get any improvement in fps on the sim. I read a post where it was said you needed to have only one AS2012 online at a time, because of licensing. So it occurs to me that xgauge probably won't work, and nor will 122.0/122.02, because I'd need AS2012 to be running both on the P3D box (to provide 122.0 and possibly for the xgauge), and also on the laptop (for weather injection) So to do what I'm thinking about, I'd need two licenses, and even then, I'd still need to be running as2012 on the desktop machine and hence probably wouldn't really benefit …

Hello In my DWC mode the clouds disappear and reappear in a very short time of one second. However, the automatic update is every 10 minutes but this problem may occur before the 10 minutes .... so it's no while the wheater upgrade I have the SP2 beta installed over the SP1 and i use the "WR269" setting can you help me please because i dislike this effect ? best regard

I tried opening a ticket and logging into my account only to find out that my account was no longer valid. I registered again but I'm not getting any confirmation mail.i tried resetting the password and changing it , which I managed but it still tells me my account is disabled even after i changed my password ? I just noticed something in the FSXOptions.cfg file. There are separate entries: EnableDirectWindControl = True and FSXDepictionMode = DWC Does this mean we can set EnableDirectWindControl=True while having FSXDepictionMode set to something other than DWC, like Smooth? As far as I know, there's no separate option for this, so the first would always follow the second. But if these can be uncoupled by making a manual config file entry, it would be interesting. Hi everyone, I am very impressed by the ATIS fonction of AS2012 but the volume is really low on my aeroplanes, I would like to know if there is a way to adjust it other than just puting more volume on VHF1 or speakers when this option is not available. Is there something like a setting that could be changed to make it louder. I also tried on the 737NGX, it works GREAT ! however very low volume whatever I do to the radio volume of the 737. I've been used to the Flightwatch radio on 122.0 giving the conditions at my aircraft. The wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, and maybe even the temperature were always what I was experiencing at altitude at my location. Well, I don't fly that high, so I can't confirm the temperature. Imagine my surprise on my first SP2 flight when Flightwatch reported the conditions on the ground at the station! Wait, what?? That's not the setting on the barometer when I press the B key. And the winds are all wrong, both speed and direction. Even the temperature is off. Well, guess what? Evening Folks, Really enjoying the SP2, especially the selection screen for flight type and the low vis improvements. Wonder if we might have the option to have the AS Text Messages off? I have 10 minute updates on and the green screen every 10 minutes is a bit distracting and lowers the immersion factor. Besides, when the weather changes real world we don't get a notice, we have to see and react...:-). If there is a way to change it in the selections I would love to know. I know you can change it in the options after processing but I've been hesitant to save it without knowing if this will overwrite something critical. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Although it seems to be working OK, I am finding that any changes I make in the UI Wx options panel are not persistant, for example the program opens up with Smooth Cloud transitions selected, I wish to change that to DWC and it lets me make the selection as well as telling me to restart the program, but on restarting the option is set back to smooth cloud transitions again, the same with any other changes I make, regardless of my clicking the save and apply button.

Read the full manual today and after making some better selections I am very pleased with the weather depictions. I guess the features I really like are reduce visability in cloud which for the first time in FSX is preventing me from seeing the ground when above a cloud layer. Also, I think the fog generation is fantastic. I do have a question about the feature "Enable Visability Graduation and Smoothing" and the associated altitude in ft. If I set this at say 18,000 and the metar cloud layer is overcast at 4000ft, does this mean you are in the clouds until 18000ft with a gradual dissipation of the overcast layer? Hey there I have a new airport KBBG Branson, MO Reg. Running FS9.1 with AS 6.5 it does not recognize KBBG is there a way to add it to AS?

I have been using ASE now for a while and it seems to do the job fairly well. My main complaint is that while flying the sim stutters and the sky flashes and all heck breaks loose while it is downloading and injecting the weather. This lasts for almost 30 seconds. I can't stand this behaviour. I tried the new REX+E+OD etc etc....but that was only marginally better. I use standard mode, not DWC. I am using the SP4 beta. Is this behaviour fixed/eliminated in AS2012? I have read a lot of posts and reviews and feedback but it doesn't seem that anyone cares about the 30 seconds of terror that occur every 15 minutes while the program injects the data. I have AS2012 build 4569 with a Win 7 64-bit system and FSX. At 10:00 PM EDT on July 28, 2012 at Raleigh-Durham airport (KRDU), severe thunderstorms moved through the area and were active for at least a half hour. For several weeks I retrieved the historical weather for that time and enjoyed the lightning. AS2012 loaded the weather correctly every time. I tried again this evening and even though it appears that the weather download completed, when I start FSX the sky is clear. I don't understand why.
