Loaded weather for Liverpool early this evening, this is the METAR EGGP 131650Z 32010KT 280V340 9999 VCSH FEW024 06/M03 Q1013 In FSX however I had major lightning strikes and very gusty conditions at 2,500ft. No indications in the METAR for TS nor out of the window in Manchester nor were ther any indications of gusty winds. SP2 Build 4815 Any thoughts from Hi-Fi? Dave

I purchased and installed the SSTSIM into FS9 last week and it appears that now every time I start ASv 6.5, after starting FS, it tells me that FS9 is not loaded. Not sure if the reason is the SSTSIM but the timing would certainly suggest that it might be. Oh and I also installed the Civa upgrade and Civa 5.1. What changed? Anyone ever hear of this happening? I would pose this question on the SSTSIM forum but they aren't exactly falling all over themselves to validate my registration , so I'm unable to access their protected forums at this time. Hi All, Wondering if any of you can help point me in the right direction; The last few times I've used Active Sky 2012 it's been letting me down. Usually the downloads complete perfectly, but recently for some reason (definitely not my internet, I've checked it thoroughly!) the downloads fail intermittently. Last night for instance - I was trying to get AS2012 to work, and eventually it claimed to have downloaded the data and synthesis was active, however the winds were all wrong and I was flying with an ISA Deviation of +73!!! I can only hear voice ATIS/Flightwatch when I have my USB connector headphones connected. I only use my headphones when flying online with other people. I do like to fly offline a lot, but now I’m not able to hear ATIS/Flightwatch on my desktop Bose Speakers. The Bose system uses a straight jack, not a USB connector, in the back of my computer. When I have my headphones on, I can configure my output sounds within FSX, however, the speakers produce sound from the aircraft and the headphones only do the ASE ATIS/Flightwatch. I guess it’s something within the ASE program that only uses a usb speaker system, is that correct? That doesn't sound right though. Any …

Hello. My problem is that I cannot experience overcast conditions at high altitudes. For example when cruising at 37000 feet I go to "set wx" menu and try adding cloud layers with high base eg. 39000 or 33000 feet oe whatever and setting big thickness value it doesnt create them. It is always the same. I can see the nightsky and stars clearly every time climbing pass around 14000-17000 feet. I know there are high altitude thunderstorms that cant be flown over in real life, why cant I simulate one in as2012? Everything works fine at low altitudes (below about 14000 feet). I have AS 2012, Build 4801 installed. On the Wx Options pag, I have Voice ATIS/Flightwatch and Direct Weather Control checked. I am using the default FSX 737NGX, but have tried other airplanes as well (PMDG NGX and CoolSky DC9). In all instances, I am not able to hear the weather on 122.00 or 122.02. I am able to hear the weather over the airport's FSX ATIS frequency, and it appears to be accurate. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rich Boll Wichita KS

Hi, I'm flying with historical weather only with Automatic Downloads disabled. My normal routine is to load weather into ASE, create flightplan with FSB and flight it next day. Starting from Wednesday ASE is sending pop-up message during the initial load that "Unable to restore previous weather. Automatic downloads will be enabled. Please exit ASE and restart again". This is definitely not the method I wanted to use ASE and I suspect that something is wrong with new servers. Also, I cannot understand why ASE cannot load "previous" weather, it it's been already loaded into ASE Folder in my computer. It happens with both 702 and 707 builds. Thanks for your …

I purchased ASE and when I try to install the xgauge I receive an error. I ran the installer "run as administrator" and I'm sure I have given all rights to my flightsimx directories properly (Maybe not, as I'm new with Windows 8). So, I'd like to install the program manually, however I don't know what files go where. Can someone explain, in detail, how to do this. Or, if someone could explain how to get my Windows 8 system to allow me to install regularly, I'd appreciate that also. I have two soundcards (headset is usb and acts like a second sound card) and I am trying to get the flightwatch and atis to play though said USB headset. Is there something I'm missing that would allow me to point AS2012 at my headset rather then through my speakers?

I have a werid issue that I've never had before. I started FS9 for a flight, and started ASE, both running as admins. Usually I run into no issues whatsoever, and just fly. But now ASE won't connect to FS9. I have a registered FSUIPC 3.999z, and have not touched the settings in months. I even took the FSUIPC.dll from the folder in the Program Files (x86)\Hifi\ASE and put it in the FS9 modules folder, still not connecting to FS9.

Hi all, I started testing AS2012 after a very long time I had it, but never got the chance installing it as I was using REXE both for weather and Textures (free Upgrade from REX2). any way I ran many tests on AS2012 mainly on overcast airports and cloudy days to see how it works out. I have noticed that AS has the tendency to place Stratus clouds at very low altitudes on a cloudy day and hardly any Cirrus clouds. that is not really realistic as Stratus clouds are more seen at higher altitudes. do you know how can I force AS to use Cirrus clouds at lower altitudes and/or change the behavior of how it injects Stratus clouds? the looks to artificial to me with AS2012…

As a new user, I installed AS2012 in my FSX system. I accepted the basic custom settings just to test it out. I loaded a flight plan and when FSX came up, the sky is a sickening shade of green as you can see. Can someone advise what I should do to correct this? Thanks Dom

Hi all, just would like to know if anyone has had a problem with vertical screen tearing whilst panning around outside and when crusing close to cloud formations? This problem of vertical screen tearing is quite bad to the stage that the sim actually pause's for a few seconds. I havn't had this issue before but only noticed it happening since I installed ASE, I've always used Bojote's Cfg file with vsync enabled in nviida inspector with the sim always running very smooth at 30fps but at the moment it's impossible to complete a flight with ASE running, any advise would be appreciated. Hi all, I need some major help...... I had to go back to ASv6.5 due to an issue with ASE that could not be rectified by the development team. Over the last weekend I flew about 6 flights with ASv6.5 trying to tweak it back to pre-ASE like I remember it. However, ASv6.5 has made FS unusable and un-enjoyable because of the winds aloft. I really don't know how to describe it but I'll give it a shot...... I'll be flying along and everything is going great; the issue I was having with ASE is not there and I'm fat, dumb, and happy. I am a enthusiastic AS2012 user up to now. Recently I build a 270 deg. FOV 3 projector setup using FSX & WideView running on a server and 3 client machines for scenery only. Everything runs very smooth now. Unfortunately, I cannot use AS2012 anymore since it does not synchronize weather on the clients. The only possible alternative OpusFSX was a no go for me. My question is: would HiFi come with a solution for this issue? may be even this year? ( :rolleyes:) I would encourage them hereby. It would be great to have my real-time weather back !

I've been trying to register in the official forum too but I've just gotta find my order number etc. I am a newcomer to ase and a very happy one, at that. You guys are sure onto something here. I do have a question though. With all of the weather knowledge and information at your fingertips, I wholly recommend a side-project to the next release of ASE. I use Active Sky Evolution, and love the historical weather feature. I don't know what I would do without it, since all my flights never use live weather as I like to mimic the weather found in the real world flights I replicate from Flightaware. Also, I will mimic a flight I took in on a real vacation, so this feature is particularly handy for that. For this reason, I always use use the "Force to Sim Time" box in ASE, so that ASE always automatically fetches the historical weather for my flights that happen using dates/times in the past.
