Hi all, I am currently unable to download weather. (1H+ continuall failure) Anyone else having trouble? Thanks.

When doing a flight, I commonly have to start FSX, then restart AS2012 about 5 times during the duration of my flight... otherwise risk an excessively slow climb because of high Outside Air Temperatures, or the enroute wind being incorrect. I know the first suggestion is to disable VATSIM weather... which to my knowledge only takes one simple step in FSInn settings... which I have done with no success. Ideas?

OK all of you AS 2012 experts. Does anyone know the difference between "Inland Blue" and "Inland Brown" water textures. I can't seem to find a definition in the AS 2012 help menu, or by googling for an answer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, and happy flying.

I have Active Sky 2012 installed and up and running - nicely. Can I uninstall ASE and ASA now? Or are there some dependencies there. I had to have them installed to install Active Sky 2012, so not sure here. Thanks Mark Austen

Hi Guys, First post! So I got Active Sky 2012, for my FSX Deluxe edition, SP1. The program installed fine, and it works. However, when I start FSX, it continues to say FSX Disconnected at the top, and also the weather does not load into FSX. It just shows the default Fair Weather theme. The graphics have loaded though. Is there something I need to do? Do I need to change the weather in FSX to Real World Weather or something like that? Sorry for the noob question, just got AS2012 and can't wait to test it out! :mellow:

hello i will be networking ase 2012 on my 2nd pc but i have a newbie question . i would like your opinion on what type of networking device should i use because i discovered that hubs and switches assign automatic ip's to the pc's but that cant happen because when setting up simconnect you need to have an ip that wont change (correct me if im wrong ). also crossover cable wont let you to use internet so then how will ase get data for the weather ( i am all new to networking so please bear with me )

hello i will be soon networking a 2nd computer to my main fsx pc . so my question is : i will use my 2nd computer for addons such as active sky 2012 so do you guys thing that a pc with an intel core 2duo cpu @2.66 ghz and 4 gb of ram is enough to run ase 2012 on a 2nd computer thanks B)

Hi, Getting real tired now a days with whats going on with ASE during flight. I was making things slide but this took the cake. First off while in cruise the air stability is not stable. My equipment VNAV (LVLD) keeps switching off Then now over the Atlantic from FL360 the altitude instantly registered FL410 and my equipment took a nose dive for FL360. Flight is ruined with FSpassengers on my haul and my trust for Active-Sky as well which is not complying to my enjoyment of its use. My Build is 707 Regards,

Hey guys,Long time owner of active sky. Haven't been simming for a while and did a complete uninstall/reinstall of fsx recently. Ever since active sky is acting really strange for me.Just did an uninstall.reinstall of that too and still have problems.firstly the performance seems to be awful compared to before. I have fps externally locked to 23 and unlimited in fsx like always. when I fly in heavy cloud situations like the preset "instrument flight" it drops and stays around 17 on the ground and at low alt.I had cloud layers set to 5, then dropped to 3 and no difference in performance.Secondly, active sky seems to be drawing clouds out to the horizon regardless of view d…

Hi all, I am using some UK2000 Xtreme scenery and have noticed that Active Sky has "painted" all the grass areas with its concrete texture, so there is no grass in my airports now just concrete! Does anyone know how to solve this? Thank you.

Hi, I've worked through the detailed instructions in the ASE documentation but the networked ASE (on client PC) doesn't seem to be talking to my FSX (server PC). Checking through the outputs from the loading screen when ASE is fired up, the server folder locations are correctly identified (or do I need to write the full path instead of the P2P network path) and simconnect states it is initiated. I have all my "User" files in a separate partition H: on the server PC, and configured such that Win 7 will default to this. I'm also using Bullguard but am pretty sure I've punched a hole in the firewall, similarly with the Win 7 firewall. I can access and change (read/write) …

Hi, Just looking for a solution to a little difference to the real world weather and the active sky real world downloaded weather. When I look at real world metar: 250/10 9999 F040 15/11 1006 Then I load activesky and its metar and the weather which is loaded is: 255/11 9999 F045 15/11 1006 Is there any solution to the settings in order to make sure activesky matches the real world 100%? So frustrating !!!!!!!!!!!!! Tried to register to submit a ticket and i nerver get the email to activate my account. I obviously enter my order number, serial etc... May be someone can help me here. I'm on AS2012, DWC (FSUIPC latest version) Wind direction differs exactly 8 degrees (no matter what option i choose) from what AS states to what i read on 737 NGX overhead panel, or what FSX shows when pressing SHFT + Z. On my flight from CYYz-VHHH, on the AS2012 map it showed me passing straight through severe weather (red and yellow). But is FSX there was no sign of it. As2012 is showing as connected.

Greetings all..... I hope that someone might provide me with a solution for this problem or aim me in the right direction. I am running Active Sky Evolution with FS9 and Windows 7 (clean install of OS, etc....) and this is happening (see attachment). This only happens when running Active Sky. When I use FS9's real world weather, no problems at all. This problem has gotten so bad that I cannot even use Active Sky right now. I had to use my cellphone to screen capture the problem while videoing it because I couldn't hit "print screen" fast enough to grab one. Also, I am using Build 702. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have FSX running in a networked mode with FSX on one machine and AS2012 etc running on another through Simconnect . I also have FSUIPC registered version. All connects fine and weather updates etc onto FSX. My problem is that the clouds in FSX change like so quickly, I will be flying along and one of two things happens, all clouds disappear then get redrawn in different places or they just redraw immediately in a different area. I am sure both of these symptoms are the same problem. I have FSUIPC Smooth pressure set to 8 and smooth Temp set to 25. Can someone help out please. On several occations now when starting AS2012 there's a message telling me the license key has not yet been activated. I then choose to activate it and it's done successfully but then I get this message again and again... What do I need to do to make sure my license key stays permanently activated?

For many years I have been using AS6.5 with very few problems. Now, for some reason, it seems to just shut down after a few hours on long flights. I minimize FS9 and the AS box is empty and I need to restart it. Sometimes this will happen several times. Eventually, I get so tired of restarting AS that I just give up and fire-up FS9's own weather. The only thing I can recall changing are some settings in my Invidia Inspector. Any ideas? I use Active Sky 2012 for my weather in FSX and it is loaded prior to FSX. During the last two FSX loads I noticed that as well as generating scenery/objects etc., a 'new' load has appeared. Not seen it before and drags out the load a bit..........'creating world-wide weather' A bit irritating and not needed as my weather is AS12 ! Is there some way to disable this load ? I have AS2012 SP2 installed and have been using it error-free since it came out. Normal routine, just as the manual says: start it up, file a flight plan, wait for the box to pop-up which gives you the option of installing AS2012 Integrated Graphics, when I press “OK” it installs the graphics and away I go. However, the last couple of flights, the pop-up box to install the graphics doesn't ever appear. This started happening, it seems, when AS2012 started looking for hurricane information in the start-up. I could be wrong about that, but it seems that way. I haven't changed any settings in AS2012. Can anyone shed some light on what's happening?

Hi all, could somebody advise me why and or can I fix the issue of having massive stutters when the weather is updating and injecting during flight? I have a very stable and crisp sim at 30fps, this only happens during the weather updating, Thanks in advance. Cheers Rod.
