What would be the recommended specs for a remote PC that would run ASN? I cannot really work out how much work would be done on this PC (by ASN) and how much on the host PC running FSX. Many thanks, Stephen Westrip

I just checked the wx at KBOS and KSYR using the ASE "Report" option. In the decoded textual weather for both airports, it mentioned "Clouds: Overcast at 200 feet". But the METAR for each airport had no indication of this. The rest of the METAR information for both airports was accurately reflected in the decoded textual weather. I'm wondering why the text would report something that's not reflected in the actual METAR.

Hi, I bought Activesky Next, and when I started FSX I got an error that ASN cannot gather weather parameters. It suggested giving administrator control to the HIFI Program 86 files, the ASN Srv files and its sub dll's, and exclude it from my antivirus software. Having done these tasks, it still does not work. Any ideas? bob marton

I think that Active Sky next is a brilliant product but one thing nags away at me and it is this; When flying at say 35,000 and with my weather map showing scattered or broken clouds at say 3,000 feet all I can see below is clear ground scenery with no hint of any lower altitude clouds. Now,I am wondering whether or not this is normal or if it is to do with my cloud settings within FSX. I always fly with Live Weather. I apologise if the answer is obvious but when flying in true life at this sort of altitude you will always see clouds below. I thank you in anticipation. MIchael

Hi all, I started to noticed that the upper level SAT temperatures in FS9 varied slightly to those being displayed in the winds aloft pane of AS6.5. To find out of there was a particular trend, I collected upper wind data from four different airports (KLAX, KORD, SBGL and FACT) and compared the wind data in FS9 to that being downloaded from AS6.5. For each level (FL030, FL060, FL090, FL120, FL180 and FL240), the temperature in FS9 was between -3.5 and -4.5*C cooler than AS6.5. In total I have 24 data points and they all display the same difference. To me this indicates that the difference is not random. Has anybody else come across this and can explain what is going on…

Hello I have ASv6.5 and Active Sky Next page says to have a discount I must have AS2012, ASE, ASA or ASX. So, I am not sure if my version is elegible for the discount. Is my version ASv6.5 is elegible for the discount? Thank you.

Hi all, I have this strange issue with AS2012 and P3D 1.4 (but I had it also with FSX). I'm based in Naples Capodichino Airport (LIRN) but everytime AS depicts the weather from a wrong station, in my case KQNN. If I try to disable the station AS loads the nearest one (KQLQ) as if I was in Naples US and not the one in Italy. It shouldn't be a great issue but, you know, in LIRN I have now 12 degrees and light rain while AS depicts heavy snow and -12°C. Besides the snow ceases suddenly to fall after 2-3 minutes and when I look at the weather it's neither the LIRN one nor the KQNN one. Hello, I am a longstanding user of almost all activesky verslons. And so it came verf naturally to install and buy ASN. But from day one I am experiencing problems to connect ASN, installed on my client PC, with FSX installed on my main rig. Almost every time I want to run ASN, it will ask for the correct folder on the main PC. The asking in itself wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the fact that pointing it to the right folder doesn't work... One starts thinking about a problem with simconnect or the sharing of folders... But since activesky 2012 is also installed on that same client pc, and since activesky does not show the same problem, I am wondering what…

With the release of ASN and REX4 Textures, Is X-Graphics still a viable contenter as it relates to weather textures? I'm unable to locate any recent discussion on this topic. On s separate topic, I have a network question: Can textures be installed on FSX Server PC or Client with the ASN engine residing on a Client?

Hey everyone wondering, is anyone else experiencing wind issues at TNCM, I have Fly Tampa scenery and when i load up ASN next i get 100 knot winds on the ground. its so bad that is just picks the cesna or any small plane up and tosses it into the sky. Its quite comical really however the airport has become useless. I have the latest FSUIPC installed and I've tried it without ASN and just default weather and the plane can stay in one piece the loading screen for TNCM shows winds at 100 knots earlier today i was landing in the 777 and the wind was so hard that i touched down on the runway and the plane just crawled to a stop within 20 feet also trying to take off its …

It seems like the next patched version of ifly 737 will be incorporating the weather radar overlay into the 737 ND. Hi Everyone: I am still using Active Sky X. I love the program. I have not had any time to fly since the summer. Now that I am back flying again, it seems that my Active Sky X is no longer working. I keep getting an error message that says: "We were unable to connect with the servers. Offline mode has been enabled. Unlike human relationships where unpredictability and surprises are sometimes desirable this is rarely the case when it comes to Flight Simulation software. With that out of the way I want to give a few of my impressions why I think that ASN is the best FSX Wx simulation software to date. First - as the developer of FSXAssist / P3dAssist, I'll get this out of the way upfront as this is not a plug for SkyPilot products but only to show what is possible with ASN. Hi I posted this over in the official forum too and still waiting for help. I go through the process of installation which seems to go smoothly but at the very end I get an error: "Microsoft .NET Framework CAS Policy Manager has stopped working" So I have to click on close program so it won't install, very frustrating, any ideas please?? Hello, I experienced this issue several times yesterday as I was flying over Spain in the Pamplona area. The METAR was CAVOK. I was flying at 5000 ft and started my descent. The visibility was clear down below but when I reached 4500 ft I crossed a 1500 foot thick haze layer and then was in clear conditions again. It is strange because before starting my descent there was no haze at all below me. What can I do to avoid this? Thank you

Hi all, To those testing ASN, or those who bought it, it's Christmas before time: http://aviationweather.gov/data/iffdp/6443.txt,tons of awful weather over Europe ! I just made a short EGLL/LFPG in the PMDG T7, I guess it's the first time since I sim (so for ages:p), that I met reality so close, regarding graphic weather depiction, and in depth weather dynamic simulation. If you can't choose, just reproduce my flight at this time, and I promise that you will have your nr 1 hardcore flight. I had all previous AS version, and competitors' products, this ASN beats everyone, and will do more when coming graphic/textures package will be out. Enjoy !

Hello ASN team, on your list of things to add for future on ur product any possiblity to add a WX exports to support winds data export, and with upcoming fix of PMDG777 where they unlock the weather file and can be read while in fligtht this would be awesome feature to have, even a simple export button to a text file the wind data as you already do in the briefing screen. Hello. Im trying my first flight with ASN (full license) and the winds on vatsim vs the winds depicted by the sim are wrong. If you look at the screenshot below the winds by ASN are 090 @ 3 and A3024 when on vatsim it s on squawkbox as 060/11 and A3009 If you look at squawkbox it has weather at 1953z on the 22nd but ASN has weather from the 20th at 0035z I do have the vatsim weather clicked on ASN in the options. many thanks in advanced.

I'm stuck in a conundrum right now. I so very badly want to pick up ASN, but I know for a fact that I will be jumping in between both platforms for a while, with ASN coming out in both.. I'm going simply mad! Which brings me to my question.. Will I have to buy 2 copies, or will there be some sort of nominal fee involved with transferring or upgrading the license for P3Dv2?
