Hi guys, Is it possible to load a flight plan weather then have the resultant flight weather for the whole flight with no updates? So the metar which is given after the flight plan has been loaded will be the same. It's just because I have radar contact and it's struggling with the weather and AI. Cheers

I've started my first flight since getting fsx. I had ran the xguage program and had the gauge installed in my planes. Today I'm fly my iFly 738 from kpdx to kdfw. The weather loaded up and It showed kpdx on the map and the route. After t/o I was going along then I looked at the gauge and it still show kpdx and the weather still showed kpdx. Even now I'm over Denver air space and it's still showing kpdx. I don't have any problems with fs9 which I still have loaded. Any ideas? Running win 7 pro 64 8gigs ram 1gig video memory, fsx on my D: drive. ASE is my weather.

I bought active sky on 10/13/13 downloaded it and installed it. I am have a problem with it so I registered at HIFI so I could put in a ticket but never received the email to confirm my email. I tried to login and it says my account has been disabled, so I sent hifi a ticket to sales explaining the problem with the login and still no reply. So all in all i'm stuck with a program that does not work right and I can't contact them to get help. Anybody have any idea's that would help me.

Hello I'm installing all FSX and their addons in my new Windows 8 with dedicated SSD for Windows and FSX system. My question is, when install AS2012 with latest SP2, what's the best settings? For IFR with NGX so.. Thanks

Title describes the problem. I previously had AS6.5 on my laptop and it ran fine. AS2012 seems to use more CPU and graphics resources which is pushing up the CPU and mobo temp to over 80C. I'd like to try it on a second desktop PC (E8400 3Ghz, 8800GTX 768Mb) which I think would cope much better but I still need to check if it adversely affects performance of Project Magenta software. If it does then I'd install on my FSX PC (i4770K, GTX780). I'm aware that I can only run AS2012 on one PC for licensing purposes. Do I need to uninstall before I can install on another PC? Only one instance would be running of course whilst I test performance.

Note: New stations must be added manually or station database must be updated from server using Edit Station Database section of Wx Options screen, before these stations/data will show. How do i do this? I am in the WX options, and cannot find anything in the Edit Station Database to update from server

Hi. When Taking Off with Active Sky enabled, I am finding it very hard to keep my aircraft straight on the runway. This has obviously got something to do with the wind conditions, but the drifting seems extreme for light wind conditions. I only use a joystick for control and use the keypad 0 & 9 for rudder control. I do not us FUSPIC either.I do not have this problem with default FSX weather so I think my joystick is ok. Are there any settings within Active Sky that I can adjust to prevent this or any tweaks to my FSX.cfg file? Thanks

Cant seem to get the export to the wx folder thing to work. I import my fsx plan, process it as usual but the folder never shows up in the PMDG/WX folder. I had to resort to the copy and paste trick. I should mention that AS runs on my networked laptop. Am I missing something?

Hi all, AS2012 has not been working very nicely for me for quite some time now. Most of the time it's just enroute so I learnt to deal with it. This time it's landing. Have a look at the image with focusing on the red circles. Does anyone know what's wrong with this? Why are they so vastly different?

I've upgraded from Win7 64bit Home Pre. to Win8 64 bit Pro. Now I get activation window every time I start Active Sky. I found similar topic in these forum, but it's for SSD device with same problem. I don't have SSD. Anyone with same problem?

Could someone advise me if I require AS2012 or can I use ASE for depicting weather along with PFPX? I do have ASE but I'm haveing trouble getting ASE to inject into PFPX. Cheers Rod.

I am running FSX with Fspassenger on one PC, Activesky 2012 and wideFS on a seperate laptop, and Plan-g and Radar contact 4 with wideFS on another laptop. Everything works ok but I highly doubt I have them all configured/setup properly to make the most of them. I currently run radar contact on a high end laptop with plan g but I am think activesky needs more horsepower since it takes several minutes to install snapshots before flight. I see frequent "slow downs" with radar contact but I am not sure if that is a resource issue with laptop or a symptom of poor fsuipc configuration. I am not new to flying or computers. I have used AS2012 for over 3 months relatively smoothly. For some reason today and yesterday I don't think I was getting the right weather coming into FSX. I now because I chose to fly over an area in the USA where there was lots of weather under the (real) radar. I has some scattered clouds at the most. Weather on the interner showed lots of clouds and lots of rain. The application indicated a valid connection to FSX. I closed the apps (AS2012 and FSX) and then I re-started again and did not see any improvement. How can I troubleshoot that I am getting the right info from one system to the other? And also how do I check that AS2012 is getting the right data? Alvaro …

Hello, I am using AS2012 in conjunction with Aivlasoft's excellent EFB program, using the "current_wx_snapshot.txt" as the weather data source for EFB. This is fine but the file never appears to update or refresh during a session, despite weather conditions changing and even if I refresh the AS2012 weather engine. Therefore, the weather info in EFB using AS2012 as it's source becomes out of date fairly quickly while the weather in FSX remains evolving. Can AS2012 output or update a file that EFB can read? I've been using AS2012 recently as I got fed up with REX giving me 70kt crosswinds at 3000ft when the METAR said 2kts However, recently I've noticed that for some reason the plane is almost shaking from side to side slightly (almost as if I'm yawing left and right in very quick succession) when in the Airbus X of the 737 NGX. I assume it is S-Turns? I wasn't sure if that meant turning normally left to right at first, but I assume now that what I'm getting is S-Turns as effectively that is what shows on the ND turn indicator (the dotted line thingy). I've recently returned to flight simming with the release of the PMDG 777. On all the flights I've made since the T7 release I'm wrong on the selected runway when arriving at my destination. The destination winds in AS2012 help me plan on what runway to expect, and then as I get closer, I check again and confirm my plan is still correct, but when I contact the tower for landing clearance, it is always another runway in the opposite direction. Dear all, I am just doing a flight from OMDB to VVTS. Overhead India we have some thunderstorms going on. Effects look great but After the lightning happens they remain steady on the screen... looks pretty strange. So now I have approx. 25 lightnings around the airplane. I fly heavies up in the high flight levels. What are my best visibility settings for high and low altitude maximum? I read the hints that say 70 and high as 80, is that the best for my type of flying? I cross oceans and long distance flying, so wondering what the best sweet spot for max vis would be. Thanks

Hello I have recently purchased AS2012 and it worked great, Thanks for the great product This morning I turn on my computer to do a flight from KBUF to KTPA.... As I open AS2012, I get a strange message, "AS2012_Exec A Critical error occured: Application failed to load - Root element is missing" The only option is to press ok and as soon as I press it it says AS2012 has stopped responding and the program closes... I have reinstalled this numerous times and nothing changes, I also reinstalled FSX and I get the same result.... Any suggestions? Thanks in advance Cheers

Hey all! I've been using ASE for a couple of months now... No problems till 2 days ago. When I opened up the program, it won't connect to the server to download the latest global weather. It fails 6 times (3 with primary server and 3 with secondary server). Then it gives up and a pop up appears saying it's unable to connect to the servers; OFFLINE mode has been automatically enabled. Also states that the firewall and security software may need to be adjusted - I turned them off and still no success... even tho I never changed them before to cause this to occur. If you have any idea, can you please let me know? Any tip would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi, Installed Active Sky on my client pc running Windows 64 bit per network setup instructions. When I try to open Active Sky i get the following error" Your network database files could not be updated. Please make sure sharing is properly setup if using a network configuration." Tripple checked my setup and cannot find any error. All my other addons for FSX which run over a network work without any problem.
