Hey guys, after your help I fixed my probem witth the fog. But now I'm facing a new problem or small issue :( I'm flying online and so it's important to get the newest METAR/weather available especially at these winter days with IMC weather. But when I approach an airport METAR is often 1hr old or older. But the real METAR is still ongoing and also pushing the refresh button does not help. I'm not getting any error/warning and internet is fully connected. Example: METAR of ATC: 1850z ASE METAR: 1750z I discovered sometimes he is loading a new weather but maybe 1,5hrs after the newest information. My settings are not really changed, only made some…

Hi, I've missed the ASE discounted upgrade time window, so I'm OK with ASX for now. I want to upgrade, but first I want to see something that depicts real mesocyclones that make pilots of heavies raise their voice when they talk to ATC. You have the most meteorologically advanced add-on to FSX and sometimes through a random happenstance of cumulous and cirrus layers combining, it is possible to take a screenshot that from a distance looks like a genuine anvilhead, but I was wondering if you guys are working on creating complete cells that work as a unit and in RL are a no-no to fly into? I have ASE (SP4) and AS2012 (SP1) on a workstation PC. I have FS9.1, FSX (SP2) and P3D 1.4.4747.0 (Simconnect version 1.4.0.0) on a server. I have FSUIPC and FSUIPC Wide (current versions). Naturally, I do not have weather data for P3D yet but I do have proper weather ASE/FS9.1/FSX and AS2012/FSX. all are working with FSUIPC wide or Simconnect .... no problems. I wanted to try AS2012 Beta SP2 (build B4696) to get weather tested in P3D so I installed SP2. Hi all. I'm currently running FSX SP2 on a dedicated PC (ASUS P8Z77V-PRO + IB 3770K + GTX680 + SSD + 16 GB mem) with good performance. No other programs running, except for ASE (SP4 build 702). In BIOS, I did not disable hyperthreading, and I'm not using any affinity mask for FSX, so it runs on cores # 0,2,4,6 and cores # 1,3,5,7 are almost idle For ASE, I'm using an affinity mask that runs it only on cores # 6 and 7. Would it be better to run ASE on cores # 1,3,5,7 and not touching core #6, which is used (only for texture processing) by FSX? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance Fulvio

I thought I'd drop in to say how pleased I am that I purchased ASE. I don't know if I'm imagining it but the whole sim feels smoother. I know there are a heap of things I can change but the default settings are close enough for me. Good value. Jon

Tried loading up AS2012 w the latest beta SP and it's stuck on "downloading global weather data from primary server" Anyone else?

I have two questions: 1-In New beta there are three selections, none of them give RW weather selections. I tried first one high altitude flying, now every time I restart AS2012 , High Altitude Flying dominates the AS2012. How can I choose only flying with Real World weather ? 2-If I only utilize AS Whether engine and select other texture/graphics add ons namely REX . Can I correlate REX with AS Whether Engine and How can I activate two systems work together? Thanks

I have read the manual, bit still I am confused how to use Themes. When I select a certain theme, run the flightplan and install the weather influenced textures I take it the textures from my selected theme are installed. But when I return to the graphics section the next time I wish to make a flight, my selected theme is re-set to Custom. what I cannot find in the manual, should I select my theme each time? Or does Custom mean it will use my last selected theme? Menno

Hi folks Any diffrence starting fsx or as 2012 first? The documentation says starting as 2012 first! Another question about settings i post also in the pmdg section. Flying pmdg with fsuipc registered and all weather settings off! Reading both documentations about tweaking fsx.cfg and fsuipc.ini. dwc mode and default settings in as 2012! Sometimes while climbing some shifts brings the vnav from one second to the other in strange climbrates and than back to normal. I think this is because the autopilot looks forward for the right vertical climbspeed! Bit looks not realistic! What can i do? Smoothing in fsuipc seems not helping! Hi Folks, I've noticed when I click on my ASE Icon it just says ASE has stopped working and nothing happens. I use it for FS2004 on a seperate pc using wide FS, I've never experienced this before . Hello everyone My name is Harry Grant, I have been away from Flt simming for some time now, but have returned, I have FS2004, (can't run FSX, I tried, my computer can't handle it) and recently reactivated my license for ASE, I just have a basic question, about those Graphic snapshots, that ASE request after you load a flt plan, Do you even have to have these graphic snapshots?, does'nt ASE still depict weather phenomenons whether these images are installed or not? My other question is, How do I install these snapshots, since I don't have any other programs to use with FS2004 in order for ASE to aquire the textures from? Thanks in advance for your time.

I've searched the AS2012 SP2 manual and the forum but couldn't find anything on the following. I'm wondering if someone can explain what the following 3 files are for in C:\Users\~USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\AS2012\Options: FSXOptions_High_Altitude.cfg FSXOptions_Low_Altitude.cfg FSXOptions_Standard.cfg Are these config files read by AS2012, or are they simply there as examples for different modes of flying, or what? Is the any way in AS2012 of stopping the error message interrupting FSX when it cannot connect to the Active Sky server for weather updates? I have looked at the options screens but I don't seem to be able to find an option for this. I always fly in full screen mode and the interruption sometimes makes it quite difficult to get back into FSX.

Hi gents, I have read about the Xgauge function in AS. I have AS2012 latest version networked on a laptop. My setup works flawlessly and I would not like to do anything to change that. Is it a straight forward process to get a weather "radar" from AS2012 to show up in my MD-11s ND? How does this actually work? Will the installer search for planes and ask? Thanks, Regards, Morten

I have attempted to ask this question of Hi-Fi Technologies on their official site but as ASv 6.5 is no longer supported and was purchased in a 'Flight 1' Wrapper some years ago (I still have all the info), I am prevented from registering an account with them. Soooo...I came here. My question is: If I purchase Active Sky Evolution which is usable in both fs9 and fsx (Both on my system and both used extensively), would I be able to use AS v6.5 graphics in fs9 and will I be able to use REX graphics in fsx? I noticed in process manager that AS2012 w the latest beta patches, has a very large memory footprint. My process manger shows it's over 100 mb's just when sitting idle before I start FSX. Is this normal? I don't recall it ever doing this before.

I have AS 2012 and am quite happy with it. I also have a decent system overclocked to 4.0 ghz. 12 gig ram, and an overclocked NVIDIA GTX - 275 card. For the most part, I am getting around 30 fps., but when in fog or overcast, I drop to the low teens instantly. Are there any setting adjustments that will still keep the realism and also boost the frames? Thanks. Tom

To all, Looking for solution / ideas .......... The Setup > Win7-64, FSX, AS2012, FSUIPC and WideFS payware, RCV4. AS2012 connecting from laptop via Simconnect and RCV4 connecting from laptop via WideFS. Also running latest version of FS Flightkeeper via WideFS (from laptop), and Flight Sim Commander (on the PC). The Issue > Winds reported by RCV4 ATIS prior to getting clearance are never in synch with winds reported by AS2012. At some point thereafter, near to beginning of any flight the RCV4 / AS2012 weather always synchronizes nicely and stays that way throughout the remainder of the session.
