Im using SP 4 with AS2012 and while I like the options for high and low altitude and vfr flying, anything I setup as my Standard cfg doesnt stay saved. If I fly in my saved cfg then it works each time, however, the first time I use any of the other options, it puts my Saved Standard cfg back to default settings. What am I missing?

Hi, Active Sky (ASE in my case) will not connect to the weather server, it just hangs on "downloading global data for 19Z." Looks like the server is down again. Thanks

Hi, servers down, ASE swichig from primary to secondary server... no download. So for these problem i have saved any weather files in *.wx for ASE. But how to use ist? The Buttons in ASE - also the Button "open" are noct active for the time, so long ASE keep attempt to download. how i can stop the download process to open my weatherfiles? Where is the STOP Button for these? thanks, Alti

I have active sky installed onto my FSX drive, and, because I don't want to use the textures, feel like the drive will run better if active sky was on another drive [thoughts?] What is the easiest process to move the active sky folder onto a different drive? Or will it require a reinstall.. 3) Is it possible to install a 'lite' version that is just the engine, no textures, or remove textures from the install folder? Alex

Hi, I have had AS2012 for the longest time, about since it came out. Now im getting a root file error, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled countless times. Any ideas on what to do now?

Hi guys, I just checked with Damian. There are some routing issues to the primary server. Just to let you know what is going on. The secondary is ok but may take up for the slack under peak usage periods. It is being worked on. Please don't flood the service desk with tickets on this it is being looked into. Again the WX servers are "not" down. -Dave

Sorry if this has been reported before. Starting this Airac Johannesburg Airport has changed it;s ICAO code from FAJS to FAOR. AS is now using Advance Interpolation for FAJS. Can we manualy change the Station Data to display the FAOR or a server side change is needed as well? If we can only chnge on Client can you please advice which Date files needs change? Since Johannesburg is a large airport wrng metars can casue "problems" NOAA has been updated to FAOR. PLease advice if a ticket is needed.

Firstly, I have to apologize. Last year, I saw support for Active sky reduce and I got a little concerned. I then tried opus after a reccommendation. Sure, I had issues with it, but I was happy to hope that bug fixes would fix things. A friend of mine just today, told me to try out SP2, the clouds and overcast conditions have been greatly improved. I was getting issue after issue with opus, so I came back.. Wow, I shouldn't have left. Things look amazing guys, and even though I was a massive fan of 2012 pre SP1. Opus has now gone from my PC.. I notice that the AI at Olympia (KOLM) do not always hold short correctly when taxiing to rwy 17, particularly the Beech series (58, 76 etc) they tend to run straight past the hold short point across the runway and get clearance afterwards, odd though, this does not always happen. I looked at the .bgl for KOLM and could find nothing wrong with it so I have no notion as to the reason for this, but figure it worth reporting in case someone else sees the problem. This incidentally is using the recent freeware AI packages made available for the ORBx scenery area's. Kim Gowney

I have been thinking about purchasing ASE but I'm still flying FS2004, on an ancient computer, while using Windows XP. I do plan on upgrading my system sometime this year, probably this spring, but was wondering if ASE is exclusive to FSX or can one still use it in FS9 and a 32 bit platform without much trouble? Hello! Yesterday I installed the SP2 beta 3 to see what has changed. I am not sure was it the new version or the fact that I normally do only night flying, but this was something special. Just to share, here are a couple of pictures from a flight from EDDV to LSGS: Climbing away from EDDV with rain and overcast reported: Just seconds after climbing through the clouds: Looking back at EDDV: Prefight weather report stated that we should see a clearing weather when getting close to LSGS: LSGS reported CAVOK, but a lonely cloud caused a zero wiz during descent. First off, I am using ASE sp4 with FS9. I also use REX for environment and cloud textures. Over time I will create a new set of textures in REX for clear skies, IMC, partly cloudy, etc and save these texture grouping as a snapshot in ASE. I have about 5 texture sets saved so far. When planning a flight, I upload my flight plan into ASE, and then press the "process" button. I am then asked if I want ASE to loaf the appropriate snapshot textures for the weather condition. It seems that no matter what the weather conditions are, ASE will always load Partly Cloudy 1 or Partly Cloudy 2 snapshots even if weather is overcast and raining. Hi, when in FSX I land in my "home" airport, that is Rome Ciampino LIRA, every time I reach about 1000 ft during the approach, my vertical speed goes from -700 fpm to zero or positive, thus making the final approach rather difficult. This happens with or without ActiveSky (I have AS 2012 SP2 Beta3). I was told that this is caused by thermals generated by the simulator and so, in order to avoid it, I can remove or rename the file Thermaldescriptions.xml. If I do that, will I still be able to experience thermals in other places when I use AS2012? Hello everyone! Having read just about every thing I can find about this amazing package, I'm still a little confused about a few things. I'm hoping a kind person or two can point me in the right direction! 1. Some times I'd like to just create a set of static conditions, so I disable auto downloads and use the edit weather screen to set a simple scenario. For instance, I just want to make a low overcast layer of cumulus cloud from say 300' AGL with a thickness of 2500'. I'll make this active for a 40 mile radius. Tried to dowload fresh weather and make a flight. On initial load ASE said that that "using offline mean valid time: 01/31/2013 3:00 PM". The new window popped up and said that something like "3000 reports were ignored and your computer clock is set in the future" My computer clock is just fine, but because of this glitch I cannot download fresh weather for 2013. I have sorted my connection out now and my AS2012 is working. The weather engine seems to be very accurate and the cloud textures are really beautiful. I transferred from another product, and I am jolly glad i did! Superb. Just one problem: jumpiness. I am sure this is because I haven't got my settings sorted properly, but the weather is very jumpy. As the weather updates, clouds pop in and out and the winds jostle my aircraft as they change. One minutes it's sunny, next minute raining. Though the textures are beautiful, these changes are really unrealistic and become quite irritating after a while. What are the correct settings to ensure that the transitions, if you …

Hi, Today I took my virtual Beech for a ride to Innsbruck. Descending trough about 9000 feet a fog layer (or a cloud) came up and the visibility was reduced. However also my FPS dropped from 30 to 14. This can't be normal, or is it? I mean it runs at a solid 30 all the flight until approach where it starts to drop. As I passed below the fog/cloud layer about 300-500 feet AGL I had my 30 FPS again. This wasn't the first time I noticed that, but today it has been really bad. Hi everyone, Having a problem with ASE and the clouds in FS2004. I just installed SP4 and will test soon but wanted to start the topic just in case my issue isn't fixed. I did some looking thru other topics and have only come up with FSX fixes for my issue. So, I'll be flying along in the clouds and am very happy with the quality. Then all the sudden the clouds disappear as a weather update starts. About two minutes later all the clouds return. It is quite annoying to say the least and I know for a fact this didn't slip past the development team. The only "guidance" I found was for FSX which said to change the Dynamic Rate of Change but this doesn't help me since …

Hi, I have active sky evolution running with fsx. I like it but what I don't like is those unrealistic flat clouds, as thin as a paper sheet that I often see. Is it possible to get rid of them by an approriate setting? Thank you.

Before I reinstall, I thought I would check here to be sure nothing is wrong on the ASE end, or that some change has taken place in the pogram that might cause the following: When I try to start up ASE, i get an ASE error window whch states th following: "ASE has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." No solution has been offered. ASE has been working flawlessly for months until this problem suddenly appeard. Any ideas? Respectfully: RTH Edit: Tried to run setp and the "repair" function. It ran ok but I still have the probem.

Later on I bought Active Sky Advanced and that has been upgraded to Active Sky Evolution ~2 years ago. To be absolutely honest, I can not remember where I bought ASA and ASE, I thought I bought them at simmarket as well, but in my order history I couldn´t find anything.
