I have been using rex textures for everything. I know some people have mentioned HDEv2 for clouds. For those of you who have used Rex textures have you switched to other textures with better results? If I were to try another set of textures, for example HDEv2 then would I end up losing the rex textures for runways etc, or is it possible to have one set of non-rex textures for clouds and use rex textures for runways? I am looking for a texture set that would go best with active sky next.

I have installed the gauges into my aircrafts and the X Gauge Installation wizzard tells me that they are installed. However,when I press Shift 5 all I get is a blank black box where the weather info should be. Could anyone possibly shed any light on this or anyone else experiencing the same problem? Michael

Hi, I am having a little problem getting the exact weather that ASN is saying and the weather in FSX. I load a flight plan in ASN and then load FSX, when I listen to the ATIS in radar contact the weather is never exactly the same. Ie. wind is maybe 10-25 degrees different and wind speed slightly different too. Anyone give me some help on this one? Cheers Rob Robert

Using ASN approaching final at KMDW in a snow storm with 22 mile an hour winds when I hit what I have to believe was a wind shear. Should there be wind shears in snow storms?

I downloaded the ASN trial version on my laptop which is networked to my desktop computer which has fsx. When I run ASN I get a popup message saying no simconnect client found and I am told I must have either fsx sp1 or sp2 simconnect client installed. I bought fsx gold edition with acceleration, which I thought contained sp2. Should I download sp2 now or will that mess up my fsx?

Hello, I bought my ASN today, Just 2 little questions: 1) I use upgrade option of ASN during installation , now my ASN activated. Should I keep still my ASE and AS2012 for keep ASN active or for future checking or ....? Or I can uninstall them? (no need to AS2012 textures) 2) I will buy P3D soon but I will not install on my current OS. My machine is dual boot and I will install P3D v2 on my other OS. Can I install ASN under my current license on my second OS? Hi, Loving ASN so far but I need to ask. Default within ASN is 90 mim 90max Do these setting over write the 60 I have set within FSX? Or do I need to change my FSX to match you min? Thanks.

Hello I am planning to purchase PFPX along with Active Sky Evolution soon and I had a few questions. The primary reason I am purchasing ASE is for the real world weather engine. I am not interested in enhanced graphics, the reason I am not getting AS2012. I just want to make sure however, there is not advantage in getting AS2012 for the weather simulation. Is the only advantage better graphics? When I was researching PFPX, I noticed something about needing to purchase a weather subscription after one year of use to keep the weather features in PFPX. I flew the route RPLL-VVNB between 17:00 and 19:30 zulu on 11/9/2013 and was unable to get from AS2012 weather that was anything close to the real weather (winds, clouds, etc) as I flew across the position of this large typhoon. Route (FL320) : KARAG L628 MESOX DCT BUNTA DCT PHUTA DCT NOB I noticed a few weather stations detected by AS2012 but none was detecting the strong weather at the time. Yet all sites such as http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/ showed the storm with winds over 100 mph Any ideas of why this happened? Alvaro Escorcia

I am using AS2012. I fly into a small general aviation airport (T31) that does not have it's own METAR report. The METAR report that AS2012 is using for T31 is not the weather station I would like to use when going into this airport. Is there a way that I could permanently assign the KTKI METAR report to T31? Hey im using AS2012 and every time i arrive at my destination FS is using the wrong runway. When im on final approach or landed the right runway is use. Why? Have anyone an Idea? Thanks

Hi There, I have just installed Active Sky 2012 and I have a couple of questions: 1) I have Active Sky running on a networked laptop and it is communicating with FSX but the "Start FSX" button is always grayed out and I have to start FSX manually. Is this normal behaviour? 2) When I have completed a route and select "Process" I am presented with the option of installing AS2012 graphics or snapshot graphics. I have been using REX for my textures so should I be selecting the option to install AS2012 graphics? Thanks and best regards Richard

Hi, sorry to post such a daft question. I have upgraded from AS6.5 to ASE and I often switch from historical WX reports to real time, but how do you do this? If you have used a historical time Wx report and then want to use the latest real time WX report, what do you do to get it? regards, mark

Every time start up AS2012 it says I need to activate the software. Does this happen to everyone else? I have to click a couple dialogue boxes and then it is done but it is rather annoying. Is this normal? Ted

I received this notice today, I've never seen it before... I'm not sure what it means. Both my Windows date/time and my computer bios date/time are current and accurate.

On approach the other day into YBBN where the storm was overhead, I was receiving very strange and annoying weather behaviour through AS2012. I will try hard to explain what I was seeing and hope I can get the picture across: Essentially when I was descending, suddenly a periodic (probably at a constant/unvaried frequency of 1Hz) "tick..tick.." sound started going. I can see my speed suddenly dropped about 20-30 knots on my speed tape, and that it jerked up (the speed) in sync with every tick, but it doesn't stay up; it jumps up and down with every tick. After descending through a certain layer of this behaviour, it smoothed out with the speed goes back up by 20-30…

Hi I posted this in the official HiFi forum but so far no response so I thought I would try here. When flying any GA type aircraft whether FSX Default or 3rd Party i.e. A2A C172 or Realair aircraft etc, my Airspeed Indicator Needle pulses (small jumps) about once every second, for some reason this does not happen when flying the PMDG 737NGX or B777 (maybe due to a CRT rather than a gauge). I am using AS2012 SP3 Beta B5025 and the registered FSUIPC 4.9, although this problem has been apparent for quite some time now, before the SP updates, I just haven't got around to reporting it before. I've been using versions of AS for a long time but took a bit of a hiatus to explore XP10 and have subsequently forget how to tell what textures AS2012 has currently loaded into the sim (FSX). I usually import the route I am flying and let AS2012 install the weather influenced textures based on said route. What I did in the past is was to try random textures within the sim whether I manually selected them or let their respective program select them for me then when I saw a particular set of textures I liked I'd make a note of them; pretty soon I'd have enough to build my own theme and save it as a snapshot. Having trouble with the best settings for island hopping. Can someone help? I'd like to have AS2012 with latest beta patch setup to fly around Hawaii without having to load a flight plan after each leg. Also doing that doesn't seem to work right because aircraft that take off to surrounding airports, even the one listed as an alternate, are cleared to land on the wrong runways at their destinations sometimes.
