I recently moved to P3D updated to v2.2. At some point in the next week or two, I will re-install my ASN. I have a valid license (of course) and was just wondering about the current state of the ASN beta program for P3Dv2.2. I do know that when HIfi Sim puts up a beta and says "use at your own risk", there isn't actually much risk and that things are fairly well in hand and under control. Will I also need the current hotfix?

After finally deciding to purchase ASN, I was extremely excited, until I started fsx, while I'm waiting for fsx to start up, I get an error, about something to do with this: as_srv\as_btstrp.dl.l fsx then says there was a fatal error. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi, What are the benefits of AS Evo over AS6.5? I'm still using AS6.5 with FS9 and was wondering what improvements I would get with Evo. I can't find a comparison chart. I would like to hear some thoughts from people who made the shift. Thanks, Henning

Hello! I´m so happy to bought ASN because it´s really the best weather-engine EVER! I just have one strange problem: Everytime i reach the Destination/ Approach, the ATC gives me the wrong runway. Example: I´m looking into the METAR and see that the wind at my Destination ist 250@5 knots, which means that i have to land on runway 25 (EDDG). Suddenly, after i reach the top of descend, the ATC tell me that i have to land on runway 07???!!!! Strange. Of course i´m landing on runway 25, which is right. It seems to me that the ATC didn´t know the right wind direction. After that i saw that the point "Auto load simulator flightplan" wasn´t checked, so i decide to set …

Hello, I'm thinking of uninstalling FSX due to bugs & glitches constantly popping up. If i remove and re-install FSX will i lose a activation try? I have 9 activation tries left, do i need to re-activate it if i remove FSX? Also, what will happen after i run out of activation tries? Will i have to pay $50 for a new license? Thanks for reading

Hi there, I have just bought active sky 2012 but it won't connect to the internet. It can get METARs, but it can't connect to the weather servers. I notice that there are several service packs for it, if I bought it from simmarket today, would I need to add these SPs, or are they already on it? Thanks John,

Hi All, Just wanted to ask any ASN users who fly either the NXG or AXE how the aircraft behaves in the cruise. I use Opus and at present because of small changes in wind direction or speed I find the Airbus engines constantly surging back and forth...not very realistic and I have mentioned this to the developer...but alas no reply. I did try ASN some while back but I cannot remember if it effected the aircraft in this way....I like Opus for the cloud generation but would get ASN if I knew it did not suffer from the same problem as Opus.... I seem to be unluckily as all smoothing effects in Opus still does not stop this...so just wanted to know if ASN produ…

I noticed in the Select weather option of P3d There is an Active Sky Weather Theme choice if you place the bullet selector below to the Weather Themes option. If running ASN in live mode should I leave that bullet in the User Defined option or should I place it in weather Themes and select the Active Sky theme? It's a bit confusing. Thanks, Robert

(Sorry for my poor English) This is too exaggerated or a bug. I was flying on VATSIM, all of sudden my plane nose moved toward downside. It feels like a something is dragging me. There was not take-off airplane in front me. Maybe ASN think that airplane taxing on the ground is in midair, then wake turbulence effect is created.

I have the freeware FSUIPC 4928 version running in FSX with ASN... Do I have to manually disable FSUIPC weather via the control panel every time I start or run FSX? Is there a way to ensure FSUIPC isn't loading the weather and to permanently disable the weather feature so as not to conflict with ASN? Thanks!

Is anyone else is having problems getting wx to download to ASN (hotfix 3) at the moment (15:38z)? Also the website (http://www.hifitechinc.com/forums) is glacially slow to display, although www.hifitechinc.com pings just fine. Apparently the same problem was noted in another thread last Saturday.(29-March). PS: 16:16z ... official forums now responding so I posted the issue there in the Technical Support sub-forum. At least one other user has also reported the current problem. Update: 16:35 ... ASN servers seem to be back to normal operation.

Hope this hasn't been answered elsewhere, and I can't seem to find the answer in the docs: Opened PFPX and generated a flight plan from KFLL to KDFW. Exported it and opened ASN. Loaded the generated .PLN file from the FSX flight plan directory. Now, PFPX says 16000 to LBV and then cruise after that to FL380. Sounds like a plan. But when it's imported into ASN, I get a TOC 40 miles out of KFLL to 16000, and then the entire flight is 16000 until a TOD just outside KDFW. ASN is supposed to accept .PLN plans, true? So what's wrong here? I can load the PFPX plan into the PMDG 777 computer with no problems, including the SID and STAR data, so why is ASN giving me thi…

I purchased ASN yesterday, this might have nothing to do with ASN so thats why I am posting it here, rather than to waste to devs time trying to figure out the problem... It was pretty bad weather last night in Manchester (EGCC), fog was present and the effect during the dark hours of the night (23:00 hours to be exact) were quite unrealistic. The picture speaks for itself, the gray ground effect is only in the far distance, its the effect of the orange/red sky thats the problem. Just to add - I am running DX10.

I installed Active Sky Next and now when I launch FSX, it crashes. I uninstalled ASN and FSX launched successfully and quickly. Not surew what file is causing problems but it seems associated with the installation of ASN.

Are the ASN servers down? ASN reports "Downloading weather", but never completes. A couple of times, it reverted to static weather.

Anyway, transitioning from Opus to Active Sky Next, one thing I don't like is that ASN renders any form of reduced visibility at night as a deep blue, rather then something like black. This leads to the insides of clouds being solid dark blue at 1AM, and in moderate visibility can tint both the sky and ground a deep blue. Coming from software where night has always been black, even if visibility was poor, and night time clouds were a very dark gray, is there any way to change it? I suspect it would be particularly bad ruining sunrises (hard to tell if dawn is coming if the sky is a pre-dawn blue in the middle of the night - and it is). Unchecking "disable default haze lay…

Hi, ASN informs me: Too many data reports being ignored due to their date/time stamps being too old, suggesting my computer clock is possibly set into the future. Then it shuts down. My computer clock is set to todays date and time Australian Eastern Standard Time. Does anyone know why ASN is doing this and how to fix it? Jon

I have purchased ASE from HiFi that I really liked, then went to AS2012 and thought it was the bomb, then went to Next, here we start having issues especially with the cannot control ambient weather parameters. I have also tried the P3D version and still having an issue - Will not run! To make sure it was something that I was or was not doing I installed AS2012 and networked it. It runs, follows my plane on the map and generates the weather. The only thing it cannot do is the graphics portion. Has anyone been able to crack this egg? When I look at the ASN log the only thing that I see that in an error is the that it says dll.xml.ASbackup access has been denied. …

Hey guys, I have just purchased ASN and I love it, the only problem is that I like the cameras from Opus, but I was wondering how can I use the cameras from opus and the weather engine from ASN. I tried to disable opus live weather engine but it's still working I am not sure why. I am using the DHM by the way. so is it possible to use them both, one for the cameras and one for the weather engine? if so how? sorry if it has been posted before, I searched but did not find post like that. thanks in advance!
