I am a new user of ASN and I must say the weather is stunning. However, my FPS have been absolutely slaughtered! It looks like a slideshow anytime I'm on the ground or below about 10,000 when weather / clouds are present. I have tried reducing the cloud layers to 2, reduced minimum and maximum draw down to 80nm, lowered some AA settings in Nvidia Inspector, reduced ground traffic to 0, reduced autogen to normal, and reduced cloud and water textures in REX to 512. Still, it looks like a slideshow when I'm in the clouds with FPS below 10. Honestly I can't fly or even enjoy my sim like this. I would sincerely appreciate any help with this. Thanks! Just purchased ASN and believe I have it right, but is this the correct procedure for using the ASN weather engine ? 1) Start ASN 2) Do NOT use "User-defined weather", just starting ASN is sufficient for the engine to be active 3) If flying VATSIM (I am usually always in this mode), do I check "Enable Squawkbox Weather Control" in the Squawkbox Options/Weather page ? Just a quick question for someone please. Am considering buying. I would like to be able to download the latest weather and then save it to my HD for later use. I would then like to turn off automatic updates of the weather. Is this possible, and if so, how. Many thanks John

ASN and FSX had been working flawlessly until I made the unwise decision to test the new SP1 Beta. Below describes the current error in trying to restore operations pre-SP1.Note: This is also posted on the HiFi site. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I have been trying to sort out the freezer issue with FSX, I seem to have gone through everything and I am back to where it all started. I never had problems with freeze until ASN, but because it's a great great program I have looked at everything to sort it out but unfortunately I can't fix it. Maybe ASN will have to be rested for awhile. Does any know of a fix? I did think they sorted it in a update but it doesn't seem so. Help?!!! Rob

I have tried several times to download the Next demo, but just get an endless loop of waiting for a response from the server. I even signed into my account at SimMarket and tried to get it from there. No luck. Could someone else try and let me know if you get through? I have been enjoying Active Sky 2012 for some time now and after lots of problems with Prepar3d v2.2. (restores, traffic files, updating...) my Prepar3d crashes every time I load the sim from the active sky screen. I can open Prepar3d and then open active sky and i will get the green screen (but not sure weather is loading). I have tried to install different themes thinking that maybe a texture or something was causing the CTD but it still doesn't work. If I have to reinstall then I am more than scared because with this stupid sim anything you do could cause the sim not to work at all. Is there something that I can check before having to reinstall. Hello! So, guys... the weather was bad here in São Paulo and I loaded up ASN and FSX just to see how things would show up in the sim... The clouds seemed to be too high in comparison to the real-world METAR, so I closed FSX/ASN and reloaded ASN. Clicked on "Conditions" tab, typed "SBGR" and took a look at the METAR. Is there available higher resolution Blue Marble map background textures, or another replacement map set that would be of a higher quality? I see the ones in the "high res" folder. I am seeking more detailed.

When in FSX everything is fine , then when I fire up ASN I loose the controls of my fight surfaces. This doesn't happen all the time but often enough to be a concern.

What does it mean when the CURRENT ACTIVITY on the status bar is constantly IDLE, I have never seen a change in wording from idle to another activity. My question is: does it suppose to change with the weather conditions and if so,how. Appreciate any reply, thank you Jacobus Homan

Hello all, I have noticed recently with ASN that it seems to run fine and load the weather into FSX, but the METAR does not seem to be kept up to date. For example when I compare it to the real live Metar it can sometimes be 2/3 hours behind, but if I close ASN and then open it again it updates to the latest Metar. I checked and it is in Live mode, also it has an exception in my anti-virus and firewall and is also run as administrator... Any ideas how I can fix that? Kind Regards, Danny

I bought ASN on 12/23/13 and so far its been great, but for the last 2 days its been saying it has to be re-activated. I've have not changed anything on my computer and its only installed on one computer. Anyone else having this problem?

Hey guys I was just wondering the voice for the ATIS sounded better in AS2012, in ASN it sounds way more robotic. Is there a way to use the older soundset? Or maybe someone has a better version for ASN to improve the voice? Angelo

I have been noticing that the weather doesn't really get updated for long time. Sometimes 5-6 hours. Usually metar should be updated every 30 mins right? max 1 hour-2hours. Mine doens't at all. It's set to refresh every 15 mins already in settings. I end up having to quit ASN while in flight and launch it again then it will update. For example i am in flight now: It's now 0900Z and latest update at EGBB was 0750Z. This is the result of me having to quit ASN and launching it again as EGBB was last updated at 0300Z around when i took off. and 4-5 hours later it's still showing the same which is why i had to quit and launch again then it updates to 0750Z.
