Hello, I'm considering purchasing Widefs for its capability for using support programs vroute, Acars, vipilot etc on a client computer. I was wondering if ASN is supported with this. If so how could I install/activate on my client laptop. Please forgive my rookie questions. Just really searching for answers to see if it would work. Really hoping that this aids in me flying FSX full screen on VATSIM. Thanks ROMAN78

I bought the upgrade to the old Hi fi Active sky I had and ientered both the keys and I can't avtive thsi now.." I am not able to log inbtio their Hi Fi forum either... Sigh! They have a Mott with crocs to protect their site?

Greetings, just installed P3D v 2.2 hours ago, downloaded the latest Active Sky Next and ran the setup. Specifically this one: Full Version / Trial version B5210, size 116MB directly from the HiFi website. Windows 7 is on C-drive. FSx is installed on its own D-drive. P3D is installed on its own E-drive. ASN works perfectly with FSX. However ASN comes up with the following error when I load up P3D: ASN cannot control ambient weather parameters correctly, thus it cannot function properly at this point and will shut down. Please make sure you have proper rights/ownership of the program files (x86) folder and have trusted/excluded ASN from your securiy soft…

I have just un-installed FSX re-installed FSX SE. In the process I have re-installed ASN, GSX and EZDok. Shortly after the ASN install, I had problems with EZDok not starting. The problem was traced to the EXE.XML file, which was corrupted. I manually edited it and got things running, only to have it happen again. Then I noticed that ASN runs some kind of ASNConnect app when starting, and I'm wondering if this could have anything to do with the EXE.XML problem. This time I can't even find the EXE.XML file. Any ideas?

Dear....captains. Today, I purchased the ASN for PMDG777, and REX4 is installed in my computer. But, ASN didn’t work the weather radar even though there is many clouds when I selected a “Activesky weather theme” in P3D weather options. and. When I change the others weather options in P3d except “Clear skies” and “Activesky weather theme”,,,, ASN weather radar do work well… I don’t understand this situation… please help me. Oscar

Hi everyone I've just installed ASN and when I try to connect to Fsx Steam edition it errors saying I have to have SP1 and SP2 installed and also something about having simconnect installed Surely the new Steam edition has SP1 and SP2 already included?? Any help would be appreciated Cheers Paul

HI folks, I have installed P3D V2.5.12944.0 with ASN3PD 1.0.5410.16349 and keep getting the ambient weather error. Can read/write all directories over the network and when initially connected is says P3D Connected. I have allowed ports and excludes and have tried this with and without firewall and scanning running. Any simple instructions for simple people? Losing the will to fly here and considering binning ASN altogether. Thanks in advance. S

I bought AS2012 today as I wanted to get a more realistic experience. I installed it, and going through a tutorial on YouTube, i imported my flight plan from KPHX to KSFO for a test flight. After processing, the program showed wind speeds of up to 127 knots and temperatures of as low as-80, which is completely wrong for Arizona/California weather. When I go to WX report and type in KPHX, it shows temp of 19 and wind of 10, which is correct. What am I doing wrong?

Every time I start FSX and try to start a new flight, I tune in to 122.0 to get the weather and I find the audio is not working. I have narrowed it down to ASN itself after troubleshooting. I have even gotten an error that it could not find the audio devices and to shut it down one time when using the "scan for audio devices button". It showed the correct device though. This AM - New Orleans KMSY - 1200Z : National TV weather showing 0.2 sm visibility FSX Real Weather showing 1/4 mi vis, fog Simbrief showing 1/4 mi visibility, fog ASN depicting CLEAR vis, - Flightsim also showing clear. I'm looking for anyone who uses the NGX and what settings do you recommend to have these set at Maximum downdraft rate FPM (500) Maximum updraft/thermal rate FPM (500) I feel its doing something to my AC during the flare and touchdown at LPMA. So does anyone turn these settings down?

Without ASN running I can run 35% traffic(mytraffic 2013)Rex 4 clouds at 2048,Flightbeam KIAD with almost every slider all the way to the right (Autogen is set at dense.) In the PMDG 777 during a major Thunderstorm and still get 40+ FPS on the ground with ASN running I have to cut the clouds to 1024,lower the traffic to 15%, and set the max cloud layers to 3 just to get 30 fps on an ok weather day if the weather is bad its down in the 20s. I know this isnt bad FPS but what on earth is happening to kill my FPS! I know that FSX in DX10 mode runs AA on all the clouds but like I said I can still manage 40+FPS if ASN isnt making the weather even on an overcast day with the sam…

I can't figure out what is going on. I can complete flights when ASN is not running, but at some random point with ASN down in my toolbar I get a CTD. Ant solutions for this?

How come skyvector and aviationweather show sigmets in Italy and asn nothing ? I have turned on airmets,sigmets and pireps in asn but I see nothing there ? thx

Hi All, Something I have never really payed any attention to until today. In the Active sky next, visibility settings, the two - Maximum surface visibility and maximum upper visibility. I was just wondering what the realistic settings for these would be ? Especially i live in Australia and do most of my flying in Australia, so settings that would resemble the Australian airspace ect Thanks in advance

I read through the manual and find nothing really about how cloud thickness works. Is the higher the number, less visibility or vice versa?

Hello! Lately, and in almost every flight I have black squares on the sky. Sometimes only as I leave the arrival airport, sometimes during the most part of the journey. These black squares come and disappear after a while or they stay for longer periods of time. When I disconnect AS next, these squares also disappear. Is there anyone that could help? I suppose that could have to do with the settings of AS Next. Thank you Dimitris

Hi all. I have done a new install of ASN having used initially REX then Opus and now trying ASN. I also have REX texture direct, REX essentials OD and REX soft clouds. I have now had two instances of thunder and lightning with fair weather cumulus clouds being displayed. I have posted on the ASN general forum and also the support forum but I have had no replies as yet, so I thought I'd ask here incase anyone else has come across this. Both flights were in the UK.
