I purchased ASN and I just reinstalled P3d 2.4. How can I find my original license I.D. for ASN? Thanks a lot,

Hello all I just finished a flight. I experienced something Weird. In the metar it said very calm weather. Wind 7 knts.. But asn showed gustings to 40 knots.. Also the metar it showed.. Was completely off. How is this possible? Vkr Victor

I have been away from flight simming for several months and things seem to have changed a little in the meantime. I am currently running P3Dv2.2 and am in no hurry to update to v2.4. When I started Active Sky Next today I found an update for ASN but the reading material says this is compatible with P3Dv2.4 only. Am I correct that it will simply not work with P3Dv2.2 and that I should not update?

ASN (P3dV2) has started doing something funny .... Clouds appear as turning flat squares. Kinda like the way the Forbidden Zone looked when they sent Zod away in the first Superman movie (I thought that might be more fun way to describe it rather than post a screen shot). It appears to do it at all settings. Anyone else have this, or a suggestion as to what I may have flipped to make it do this? It's on an Nvidia GTX 760 card. Any ideas?

Hi I have just retired from working and taken up FSX which I am loving. However I am a bit confused (comes with old age lol) about what to select in FSX free flight regarding the weather. I have REX4 and Active Sky Next which are both great.. however when it comes time to select the weather I dont know wether I should choose 'Active Sky Next Theme' or REX4 in the selection choice. I set up my route in ASN then minimise it and open FSX. Choose plane (PMDG 777 or 737 800 NGX), Choose airport, choose time ...but then the weather choice always confuses me. Any help or advice would be very much appreciated. Cheers Neil B

HiJust a couple of questions. 1)Is it possible to start up Active Sky X without connecting to the internet and load a saved weather file or do you need to go online each time?2) Is it possible to load up Active Sky X, start up FSX and then save the flight. The next time you start FSX without Active Sky X enabled, will the previous weather show for the saved flight?3) Do you need Active Sky X to remain open and online when you start up FSX?3) Will the X Gauge only work with Active Sky X open?Many thanks for any response.J

I *know* it has a slider...and thank god. Yesterday I was flying into O85 Benton in a Cessna 210. I was about a mile behind a PA28 Warrior on approach. When I got over the threshold my airplane got caught in it's 'wake turbulence' and was jerked and flipped repeatedly to a 60 degree angle. My ASN slider was set to 50%. I've since dropped it down to 20% and may go lower. 50% is way over where 100% should be. Gregg

Oh No! Just installed SP1 (fsx) for ASN. This is a networked configuration that was working absolutely perfectly before. After SP1, ASN will not connect now and sits there with the message "waiting for simulator". During the installation process, the installer asked me to copy ASConnect_FSX_Install.exe over to the FSX machine and run it. I did. Installation proceeded normally, and the ASN version is now 5391. The Simulation Install Folder Path, and Application Data Folder path are the same as they were before, pointing to the correct directories on the FSX machine. As usual the next time I ran FSX, I was asked to authorize the bootstrap process, which I did…

Hi all, I've been having a problem recently when flying in the sunset in AS2012. I'm not sure how to insert an image through here that is saved on my computer so I'm going to try and give my best go at describing it textually (If anyone can tell me how to do so, that'd be much appreciated). When in cruising altitude, when I look straight ahead, I have two "different sunsets." The colors are the same, but they occur next to each other and there is a gap of darkness between them. Look at these pictures! Do you call this a overcast? Maybe some will, but this is just to trick me into believing that I'm flying above a thick overcast. I live in the area where the screenshots were taken and at the time, the weather was bad with a thick continuous carpet over the whole area, not these "lumps" of clouds stacked together. For me, it really ruins the whole flightsim expericence :( :( :( Any ideas? I have the "enhanced overcast conditions" in ASN ticked and have tried increasing the amount of layers but its still just "lumps" of clouds instead of a realistic carpet covering an whole area.

Hi Damien I have Simconnect working perfectly on AS2012 but when I installed ASN and changed the Simconnect port to 445 it never works, just says waiting for Simulator, I have changed the config file on the client and the server, have no idea why it refuses to work, I also have all firewalls of whilst I am troubleshooting, any ideas Wayne

Today when I flew I suddenly got an error message from ASN that said that my computer clock was set in the future. ASN then shut down. When I restarted ASN, I realized that ASN tought that the actual time was 11:10 UTC, when it was 11:30 UTC in real life. I continued have this error and the only way to get through it was to set historical time to any time before 11:10 UTC. What can the issue be? Is there some kind of server error or is my installation corrupt in some way?

Would it be possible for asn to include departure and landing runways. Kinda like the way topcat and simbrief do it, think it would be a cool little option to hear in the atis.

Since I installed the updated ASN version for P3D 2.3 I've got a problem where the clouds are horizontally divided in light and dark, by a straight line. It doesnt happen all the time, but I've seen it regularly and it seems to happen more often, last 2 weeks. Does anyone know what this is and how I can fix this?

Hi, just purchased ASN and loving it, however I am having trouble installing Xgauge. It tells me that there is a problem checking for access rights to my sim aircraft folders. When using explorer, I cannot save the uncheck read only box in my aircraft folder. It appears that I have the old xgauge from a previous version in my gauges folder as when I insert it manually, the old gauge is there. Could someone please explain how to manually uninstall the old xgauge and insert the new one into my gauges folder. Many thanks John

More than a bit stumped at the fact that my copy of ASN seems convinced that Los Cabos was sunny and clear (to 20k) with wind around 6kts all weekend through Monday. Anyone else having trouble finding the mystery hurricane in our hyper-realistic "live" weather add-on...? What might my settings be lacking? :blush:
