Have the latest version of ASN for P3D2.X. Have noticed several times that when I am flying in real-time weather and it is raining, there are no clouds in the sky. The rain is falling, but the sky above is blue. Anybody else have this problem?

I have ASN with latest service pack. My problem is that each and every flight I see clouds are drawn around my plane, like big circle around. I can clearly see clouds borderline. That is quite annoying. I have set upper visibility at 80nm, clouds min draw distance for 100nm, max draw distance for 110 nm. As per such settings I should not see clouds borderline, and those should be drawn until visibility limit. Somehow my settings do not work as I wish to. Any hints ? Thanks

It will say wind is at 250 and the runways are 13,4,and 29...29 is what i chose but when i requested a VFR landing fsx gave me the runway to land on RWY4...when they said cleared to land it said wind was 069 @ 14 but ASN said it was 250 at 12KTs.. why isnt fsx reading the right wind data?

I have tried everything I can think of. Whenever ASN is active, regardless of real, simulated or what ever weather, I get the heavy haze that reduces visibility to 10 or so miles. I can see farther but it is hard to make things out. If I wanted that effect, it would be perfect! ASN as a whole is great, just this one glitch that annoys the H... out of me. If I don't load ASN and select clear skies on FSX I still get a little haze, but not over powering; as soon as I load ASN, regardless of the real weather, the haze just pops in? After experimenting I have developed a way to manually create a REAL opaque stratus overcast down to Cat III minimums if desired. The images in this post are for a Cat II overcast down to 150 agl at KPIE. I got to thinking after my last several posts (and rants) concerning this problem that flying thru an overcast is just flying at visibility of ZERO! So if I could create a LAYER of visibilty to correspond with my cloud layer and make that layer to minimum visibiliy (1/16 sm in FSX) then I would have a solid overcast. FSX makes it possible to create LEVELS of visibility. Most of us are only familiar with surface visibility but, well, the images tell the story... …

am I suddenly getting the following warning from my ASN when it had been working ok for 6 mths, I have the latest update, and it will not start no more. I am connected to the Internet "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\not The folder stored in the registry cannot be verified. This means possibly that a network share is not currently accessible. Proper ASN operation is not possible. please restore network connection and retry"

Hi, I would like to continue to use OpusFSX for live camera and DHM but also purchase ActiveskyNEXT for its advanced features including cloud precipitation for weather radar. Does anyone have these working together?

When updating the forecast details in the pmdg 777 fmc the wind details are not as shown in the conditions page My ASN is updated with the last updates and the differences are shown after the updates Any idea why or solutions

I love ASN so much...i dont mean to request this stuff but 1. if there is a SP2 would you guys be willing to add less visibility so that you hardly see the end of the wing in any type of cloud like in real life( not that you guys really haven't done that(love that feature)) 2. more accurate weather display (taken from updated satellite radar)(whenever im in PHX (i live there) it says clear skys in ASN and it is clear skys in real life but it doesnt display that in the simulator theres always a couple clouds or Cirrus clouds way high up there where there shouldnt be) 3.im a horrible person for being so picky on a great program(thumbs up on that one)

I just picked up a copy of AS2012 this weekend and was wondering if I should install the XGauge add-on that comes with AS2012. Is this recommended or will it cause problems with NGX ?Thanks!

Dear HiFi,I found a bug in your XGauge Installation Wizard. After reading several posts here, and doing some testing of my own, I've come to this simple assessment.It would appear that when the XGauge installation wizard is run for the first time (right after ASE installation) the aircraft that were configured then are remembered somewhere. That's fine, however...If the user moves "certain" originally configured aircraft out of the \Simobjects\Airplanes folder (i.e. to retire them, or to have FSX ignore loading them) and the XGauge installation wizard is run again, the wizard falsely displays the error "Problem checking for access rights to FSX aircraft folder..." blah…

I have PFPX setup so that when I get a crosswind on the departure runway at certain airfields like Gatwick (EGKK) it will use the preferential runway if the tailwind is below 5 kts. Unfortunately FSX only sends the AI (in my case My Traffic X) to the runway with even a slight headwind component, so I am often taking off against the flow. I seem to recall there was a 'Refresh AI' option in the earlier versions of Active Sky but can't find it in ASN. Saying that I'm not sure even that would help as it would still probably send the AI to even the slightest headwind. Does anyone know of a utility that would force the AI within FSX to use a certain runway for departu…

Well, after installing ASN for the first time last week, I thought I really ought to show my gratitude by saying a big thank you for this absolutely superb weather engine. For the past two years I've been using the 'other' big name WE, but wow, I had no idea such a difference could be seen by changing to ASN. There is such diversity in the layers of cloud and the coverage. Tonight I've witnessed low lying fog in the valley west of Palm Springs, several levels of cloud and a rendition of cloud which I haven't experienced before, wonderful! Hi. I had ASN for FSX installed on my laptop. Then I got a desktop PC running FSX and ran ASN over the network from my laptop to the desktop running FSX. Yesterday I bought and installed P3D v2.4 onto my desktop. I downloaded ASN for P3D today, version 1.0.5410.16346 and installed it on my laptop after uninstalling the FSX version of ASN from my laptop. I shared the 3 required directories on the P3D computer and put the ini and cfg files where they should be. I'm running ASN as Administrator. I can browse the shared folders from my laptop. I can run AI Traffic and it says that its connected to P3D when P3D is running (but not when its not). However…

Hi Guys, I bought ASN on 19/08/2014. I have ver 1.0.5226.33572. When I open it I get a reminder to update. When I check for the update it tells me I have to load SP2 before SP3 if I don't already have the SP2 update. My problem is how do I know if I have the SP2 update. Having only bought it in August, would it already be updated with SP2? So I need to update with SP3.All help appreciated. Thanks Don

I just got FSX after using FS9 for about eight years. I have ASE but don't use it much because it doesn't do what I want so I'd like to see if ASN will. I'm on a trial and tried it out. It's really much better and will upgrade if it has this feature. I was able to fly in overcast and it was still smooth. I fly vfr only in GA aircraft. I like to see what's going on. But also I'd like to fly in current weather. This causes a conflict when I want to fly a particular flight plan and there is ifr conditions. What I'd like is to set it up so I can always see 10-15 nm around the aircraft regardless of weather conditions. That way I can fly in current weather and and…

Could you explain a little more the differences between the available presets? user presets easy mode realism mode. I am usually flying the q400 or the A318/19, what would be the best in P3dv2.4 and why? At the moment a can not decide between realism mode and p3d presets. thanks.

Hello. I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I opened up AS65 tonight and it downloaded the weather and started processing things like normal. However, after the line "Generating Intermediate Weather Date" another line shows up that says "Main Thread Process Error... Retrying at next interval." Then, that goes away and it goes back to "Synthesizing Local Weather Data" and repeats from there. Going to "Generating Intermediate Weather Data" and so on. Never getting out of the cycle. Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on here? The last I used it things worked fine so I'm kind of confused here.

Hi, I still use and love Activesky 6.5 for my FS9, but would like to know how to use the cloud textures and sky textures that come with the freeware package HDEv2. I would like activesky to use those cloud and sky textures instead when updating weather.Thanks

I had to uninstall my PMDG 737 ngx and once i re-installed and inserted the xgauge and used the default key shift + 5 its not working? Its already been accepted in my fsx.cfg its also showing in fsx menu and thats the only way i can get it to load. My shift + 5 hot key doesn't bring the gauge up on any aircraft i have tried them all. Can anyone help please?

Good day fellow flight simmers.. I use ASN with FSX and the PMDG 777-200...I have noticed when entering a storm with heavy lightening and rain or hail against the windshield, I don't hear any noises of rain or lighteneing. Complete silence..I only see the effects..is it normal to not hear the external sounds, or is there a setiing that needs to be adjusted? I have read through the manual but couldn't find reference to adjustment of external noises within the sim...I do have sounds enabled in the menu and my default audio device is correct..

Hurricane Gozalo is bearing down on Bermuda and the consequences for the island could be very grave, as was evidenced by Hurricane Fabian in 2003. But if any island nation can somewhat withstand a direct hit from a Category 3 hurricane, Bermuda can. It has the most detailed construction requirements and it's emergency preparedness is second to none.
