As the title says, I get nothing after I click the ASN desktop icon, not even the "Stormy" intro sounds. I recently had a lot of trouble with FSX after encountering some graphical issues, and the only thing I can think of that may have affected ASN would be deleting the FSX.cfg

Hi Folks; I just purchased ASN about a week ago and have been using it but decided to put it to a real test for reporting accurate weather. It was raining in NY the evening on 07/09 for a few hours at both KJFK and KLGA (LaGuardia Airport). Also confirmed it was raining at both Airports. I did a short flight (FSX) KBOS to KJFK and when I approach and landed at JFK it was bone dry and ASN weather reported no precipitation which was incorrect. I then disabled ASN and downloaded FSX weather and weather was totally correct, rain with light thunderstorm. I've had a good old rummage around for an answer before posting so be gentle with me. Loading a flight plan into ASN (5665) results in only a partial display. I.E. LJPZ to LIPV via....screen shots do it better! This is my flight plan in Plan G. Duly exported to FSX format. Loading into ASN gives me this: I've poked and poggled but can't figure out why. Help appreciated.

Yesterday I updated to Open Beta 5666, used normally, today tried to open it and it's not opening. I didn't install anything, changed anything, my PC was just turned off and on. I already tried to Uninstall -> Restart -> Install again -> Restart = FAIL

Hi I bought ASN a few days ago, and cant open ASN. Nothing happens when I click the icon. If I disable AVG free, I can open ASN and use it. I have added the exception in AVG as per ASN manual ( Certain firewall/AV software such as AVG requires trusting/excluding the ASConnect module file as_btstrp.dll (located in your [FSX/P3D Installation Location]\asn_srv folder.) but it doesnt seem to change anything. I stille have to disable AVG before I start ASN I hope there are other users here that have a solution. I cant imagine I´m the only one using AVG free.

Does anyone else have the issue of no aircraft showing on the map? I have aircraft checked in the overlays section but still nothing. Everything else works great, I use VOX as well. I have posted on the HIFI forums as well and was hoping the good folks here on the avsim forums might have some helpful suggestions. Thanks and have a great day/night

Hi All, I'm in a very unfortunate situation. I recently purchased a new FSX machine and PC to run as a client for programs such as EFB, Active Sky etc. Ive always ran active sky over a network and never had any problems. I set the original networked install up my self. Since buying these new machines I cannot for the life of me get ASN to connect to FSX.. It just says waiting for simulator in orange. How can i fly the weather situations which can be found using the search-function in activeskynext? I only see a list of results but no way to load one of this weathersituations in p3d. The manual doesnt help here. I only describes how to generate that (in this case) useless list...

When I turn on ASN my clouds channge from REX4 Clouds to some kind of flat layer of clouds. Is there a way I can fix it? Thanks

Howdy folks, I'm having a new issue that just started recently with ASE weather. I'll be flying along and my clouds just "pop". Let me explain further: I was flying from ATL - SXM. I took off from ATL and the clouds looked good, looked realistic. At about 18000ft AGL, the clouds disappeared for about 30 seconds, then a solid layer of clouds formed under me (@approx, 15000ft). I thought nothing of it. However, I got around northern Florida where some storms were and starting getting some turbulance but the solid layer of clouds remained. I have reverted back to P3D 2.4 - the 2.5 version was too problematic for me. However, I seem to only have a 2.5 compatible version of ASN, so it is consequently not working in 2.4. My original ASN purchase was an upgrade purchase from ASE on Simmarket. Help appreciated thanks

I know FSX is not very good at giving you realistic turbulence but as it is now with AS 2012 and FSUIPC and after following the installation tips where you're told to adjust some settings for turbulence I think I never experience any "bumps" at all during approaches for instance. I would love to have the kind of approaches you see on cockpit DVDs for example where you clearly see how "bumpy" some of the approaches are IRL.Is there anyway to get some more "bumps" in FSX using AS 2012 and FSUIPC?

I understand that in principle it should be possible to use the "save" and "load" buttons to do exactly this, but while I can succesfully save my manual scenarios (a file with extension .wx appears in the default folder), I don't seem to be able to load it. Reinstalled Active Sky Next, (that is after reinstalling FSX). No stream. But when I open up the program there is no thunder like before, the boxes at the top are all gray, the 3 boxes in the in the center have nothing in them when the were full of writing before. I in stalled the following up dates, B5360, B5410, B5575, B5589 in that order. Am I missing something?

Reinstalled my flight sim and it is working good. Reinstalled Active sky next and the upgrades, though when I open it the buttens at the top are all just gray and the 3 boxes that use to have writting in them are all blank and I do not get the classh of thunder on open I did have. I have now been a proud participant of VATSIM for about 3 weeks now I love it!!!One question I have is this... Actually a couple..When flying on VATSIM what should I have my active sky options set on..I have just let them be the way they are and they seem to be doing fine... I shut off the squawkbox weather..But one thing I have noticed in ActiveSky is it has a checkbox for online with VATSIM.. I have Active Sky NG, and was wondering if there is any advantage to using the soft clouds, or are they just duplicating what Active Sky does?

I know the airport exists. If I search for the airport in the "search" tab of ASN, it finds it and gives me current conditions for it. But I cannot use it as a departure airport in the flight planner tool. The airport in question is KCPT if that helps.

Over the past week now, I am getting inaccurate surface wind directions, even with default settings in ASN. The wind speed is correct, however when checking the metar both within ASN and online from NOAA, the direction is always incorrect, for instance right now in KSNA the wind should read, 230 / 8 knots.. however in fsx I am getting 217 / 8 knots... this happens at all airports I select, the wind direction ranges from 10-30 degrees incorrectly, any thoughts on what is going on?

I have active sky next and I am wondering something. I talked to the REX forum and they said they have the anvil cumulonimbus cloud and that it is up to the weather engine to depict it. I see the towering clouds but can ASN create the anvil cumulonimbus clouds?

Hello everyone, I have recently run asn on a networked pc. It says sim connected and all the files are shared and writable. When I run test using manual weather, using the rain drops preset, the clouds pop up, but the rain doesn't come. The tarmac turns all shiney, but no rain falls. When I go into map, no rain shows up on the display (dbz turned on) All the ports are unblocked. Thanks in advance, 1251452

I was flying from ORBX's Fall City, 1WA6. I loaded up FSX and ASN created the live weather for the location. When I tried to set manual mode and type in the airport it goes to gray like it can't find it. Any solution to this? I know its a private airport but I would think if it can load weather into it, I should be able to make my own as well.

I'm currently using ASN with 2012 graphics on FSX (box). I was wondering if REX soft cloud would work with HIFI graphics or would I need the REX hi def package and uninstall the ASN 2012? Have any other simmers used that combination?
