What hoops do I have to jump through in order to get a reinstall of ASN? Just D/L the original?

Hi all, I found an error with qnh reports causing troubles to surrounding interpolated stations. Looking inside the "current wx snapshot" file, it seems there are 3 stations which report qnh as Q.XXXX (I tried several wx intervals); that dot after the Q causes ASA to read the qnh as 00.00, so all the surrounding interpolated stations have values of QNH like 750 mb!! Even less sometimes. I managed to delete these stations from the database and ASA works now correctly. These stations are: OPNH, WIOO and VYMD. The last one seems not to make troubles though, so I left it unchanged. It took me 2 hours to understand what was wrong, but I did it :) I was flying at FL350, when…

Hello, I recently bought LIJIANG SANYI INTL AIRPORT from SKYSOFT (icao: ZPLJ) and i couldn't find the weather on ASN menu. Anyone knows why this airport (probably could be more) is missing ?

Is anyone got the same problem my wind direction is always out by 5 degrees RC 150/07 ASN 155/07 QNH is the same TEMP are the same VIS is the same Just wind direction SO FAR lol

Hello, Does anyone have any experience using ASN with REX essentials plus overdrive? The reason I ask is because I already have REX but want to use the ASN as the weather engine. My question is Do i have to get REX4 in order to use ASN or can I somehow use ASN with REX Essentials? Thank you

The way thunderstorm clouds are depicted appears too light to me. When they occur in real life they are sometimes very dark. Just an observation. Love the program, by the way.

Suddenly, over the past week or so, my ASN has stopped updating automatically in P3Dv2.2. The "force to sim time" box is checked, the D/L interval is (as always) at 15 minutes, no wx options in FSUIPC are checked. I can D/L the wx by merely setting the time in the main wx config screen to the current time in P3D but then it does not update again. I'm using historical dynamic wx, downloading from the servers. I get no error message

I'm trying out ASN. When I start it, the program tells me there are updates and then directs me to HiFi's page to download the update for FSX. Each time I download the update, the program then expires my trial key, even though I have 7 days left. Has anyone been successful in updating the trial download or should I just leave it alone. I'm experiencing some choppy lag during heavy clouds (go figure) and was trying to see if the update improved that situation before I buy. By the way, I've contacted HiFi and got a new key but haven't received an answer about the update.

Hello guys I have a little question. Right know I'm at cruise level and I started playing with the visibility options. I noticed that when i change the maximum surface visibility, the visibility in the sim while in cruise change to that value despite that maximum upper visibility is at 125. It is normal? does this change needs to restart FSX and ASN? Thanks!

Hello I just bought ASN to go with the PMDG 777. Is there a way I can look up my destinations ICAO identifier and have a metar for that airport appear on the screen? It would make flying even more realistic than getting the atis from radar contact 50 miles out. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you. J Keeran

I would like to ask if the FSX option “Disable turbulence and thermal effects on aircraft” should be really disabled. If I check the option, which means to disable fsx-made turbulence, will I still get the realistic turbulence effects during the flight if I am using Active Sky Next? If I expect wing flex, turbulence and other realistic weather effects on the aircraft, should I still check this options? Also, the official website mentions that Hotfix 5 and B5227 Update have been released. Hello - So, I am currently using REX Essential Plus for textures and weather engine but I want to switch to Active Sky Next weather engine. My question is what problems (if any) will I encounter running ASN for the weather engine while still using REX E+ for textures? How would I disable the REX wx engine and only allow REX to inject textures? I have been considering this switch for awhile now but since the launch of the 777-300 from PMDG I want to take advantage of the new wx radar feature. Around the departure for about 100 kms it is as depicted in the map But the area shown in this pic is about 300 kms out. The weather stations both before and after the flight path are calling for overcast at 9000 yet I see no clouds at all This happens all the time Wonder if it is P3DV22 or FSUIPC or me or Opus FSX running in the background with weather OFF (so I hope) used only for the view changes anyone else getting this, sorta makes ASN useless al free upload image

I no longer have the post's on my "Content | Follow" page. I had saved a link to a post that contained ASN settings and also had the different texture resolutions for the different types of water, sky and cloud graphics. The post was made within the last month, I tried searching for a long time last night but could not find a post relating the what I am seeking. Thanks in advance for your help. Robert

Is there any way to maximize cloud turbulence? When I fly through clouds, I don't seem to get any. I am referring to the chop one experiences in real life while going through clouds. Also, I only experience turbulence when flying through thunderstorms; any other time, my flights are super smooth without the slightest bit of chop. Maybe my settings are wrong? I have max turbulence in ASN, and turbulence affects aircraft ticked in FSX.

Hello, I am a new user of ASN and recently purchased it after the release of the PMDG 777 SP1 and 300ER and I am very pleased with it. However, I would like to know if I could further customize it by renaming the 'User aircraft' from the live map view to a custom name like flight number, a/c type and such. I had Active Sky 2012 and I uninstalled it yesterday. After installing it I restarted my computer and went back to FSX and when I pressed SHIFT+5 a blank HiFi Technologies radar came up. I went in and manually removed all the flies that are from Active Sky and HiFi Technologies and it still does it. I found out that it is called xGuage and I looked to see if there were any files with that name and there were not. So I would love to get this completely uninstalled so that SHIFT+5 pulls up what it is supposed to.

My active Sky Next cannot seem to find the correct data no matter what settings I try, winds, clouds, temperature, all of it is wrong. Any ideas would be helpful. All service pack have been installed.

I have been having trouble with FSX freezing, looking at the forum this seems to be a problem on ASN on longer flights.<br /><br />My question is when it freezes, I go into task manager and it says fsx is not responding. If I wait about 8 minutes does fsx continue working? Because at the moment I am ending the task, leaving me frustrated about not been able to fly!! <br /><br />So if I wait 8 minutes, fsx will continue?<br /><br />I have just seen the post about unlimited frame rates, so will try that tomorrow.<br /><br />Cheers<br />Robert<br /><br /><br />Robert

Hello Active Sky users, I have just started using Active Sky Next and have a question regarding Active Sky's Winds data and PMDG's upcoming SP1 for the 777. The PMDG 777 winds aloft files will be able to be updated as of SP1, however the winds aloft files are currently locked and cannot be edited once the data is imported into the FMC. So my question is, how will I be able to update my winds aloft data to import in the FMC once SP1 is released? The only method I could think of is pressing the refresh button on the flight plan page of Active Sky or exporting the flight plan into Active Sky again. Thank you for your insight

When on the ground, i switch the radio to ATIS, then the wind direction always says its about 22 degrees from what it actually is. Eg metar on AS2012 map says 060 a 16, atis says 038 at 16. The other issue im having is that where there are no active metars at a certain airport, the atis will give a weather report based upon my current position?
