So I installed Active Sky Evolution with the SP3 today. I used the settings from PMDG'S forum for fsx, fsuicp and ActiveSky: http://forum.avsim.n...t-with-the-ngx/ I'm running the latest FSUIPC registered. I do not have an antivirus/firewall. My system is a core i5 @ 3.4ghz. 4gb ram with the correct timing. Windows 7 x64. FSX is installed in D:\FSX and ASE is installed in D:\ASE it'S a fresh install too. I'm plugged on ethernet cable with a very fast 20mbit connection. I start FSX with the FPSlimiter then launch ActiveSky. Overall I really like the immersion ActiveSky Next brings to Prepar3D (v 2.2 in my case) but one "feature" drives me absolutely crazy - ASN's insistence on adjusting global visibility when it senses you have entered a cloud. The effect is clearly illustrated (and criticized) at 9:24 (and again at 12:25) in Froogle's video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSylDlkcBCk. While he doesn't realize it this effect is from ASN (which you can clearly see running on his taskbar) and does not happen natively without ASN injecting weather into P3D. I have my AffinityMask set to 14. What is the difference in changing it to other values? I've seen many people have other values than me. The reason I ask is due to the 8 minute freeze. I had freezes for a long time. But when I added affinitymask 14, it solved the whole thing. No freezes for almost 6 months. Last night I hade some freezes again. May it help to change the AffinityMask to some other value?

Hi guys I try Connect the new AS next in my network. Simconnect work fine (i have checked it with IA Traffic) I have followed the user manual but when i execute AS in my client, the program show my "error installing the simulator module". Of course App And FSX folder have full share setup. (I have checked it Also waiting And reading through my net). Any idea? Thank for advance Mabainca

Hello, First of all, sorry for my English, it isn't my native language ;-) When I plan a flight with pfpx (with ASN weather selected at the options) the winds aloft are quite different. It's still in the planning phase so there can't be a difference between planning vs. actual winds. So after pfpx computed my flight I save it and load it inside ASN --> flight plan. At some waypoints (FL240) the difference is about 20kts (290/20 and 290/38). The wind direction always matches, it's just the wind speeds which are always 'off'. I hope someone sees what I'm doing wrong here. Regards

I've just download the trial version of ASN for a test flight from KLAX to KLAS flying a light plane SR22 cirrus. I was really wow with the live clouds using REX4 (nothing compares to default) but also during all the flight the cockpit was like shaking (lots of turbulence) then I suddenly have like an airsickness (less fun here I can tell you.) Is there a way to reduce the shake? May I choose a heavier plane to minimize the shaken effect? I know I can read the Metar and map then avoid these turbulences but I just want to fly direct to test and not to do any serious flight at this moment. Do I have to leave open ASN all the time while FSX is running for live weather? …

Opened ASN this AM (June 6)and checked weather at KAVL. All METARS are headed by 28 and show (of course) wrong weather. FSX real world weather shows correctly (low visibility and fog). What's wrong ??? Dave Hinson

I set up a flight in YBAS Australia using both FSX and P3D2. So same place same time and ASN in both cases (FSX version for FSX and P3D version for P3D). The result was an average cloud cover in FSX similarly to fair weather. In P3D2 the sky was almost without clouds. How can that be ? In both cases I could see that the barometric pressure was not standard so in both cases ASN weather was injected. In both ASN versions I have let the settings be the same i.e unchanged for most part except I enabled enhanced overcast.

I downloaded the free trial of ASN and i have been very impressed with the wind effects on the aircraft while flying. One thing I have noticed is that when on the ground the clouds are not moving across the sky, is this normal? When I used the default weather I remember the clouds moving. I am using default textures. I tried selecting some windy weather and still have the same problem even though the windsock is fluttering like mad, is there something i need to change in the settings or FSX? kind regards Darran

I made screenshots but unfortunately, I can`t add them here (how to add pictures to my computer??). I'll have to describe the pictures - same simulator P3DV2.2 (same settings) and same REX4 textures but ASN visually builds weather like a cartoon - concrete-edged clouds,such as cardboard when you look from afar. But AS2012 visually is much better, more natural - soft edges,clouds merge into one another. Since the ASN has new features,I would like to use ASN but it doesn`t look so good as AS2012. Hi Using ASN for FSX, the XGauge seems going off by itself after yet to be determined period. Is anybody else having such issues. Any tips. will also check other ASN forums like HIFI here etc. cheers just noticed this happens some time after the Xguage looses focus, that goes behind another window. Not long after its off, with all the scale settings back to zero.

I wonder what are the latest setting recommendations concerning the AS Next and the overcast conditions? I noticed that nothing has changed on my end. Overcast at ground and climbing out, but when over clouds its suddenly scattered... This seems to be persistent problem.

I have recently reinstalled my windows and I reinstalled my fs9 and active sky. But the active sky won't connect to the flight simulator. I also tried installing REPro and WOAI, they also wouldn't install. I don't get what the problem might be and I've searched untill I can throw away my laptop. I'm running windows 7. REPro always says an erros has occurred and active sky doesn't say anything but if I click on lock to FS position, it won't do that. So I know it is not connected.

Now I have an expired server subscription inside my PFPX, and I dont need to extend a new server subscription. Out of the blue I have these errors appearing when I start my ASN. I have tried opening it after FSX and before. Also I have updated to latest version. I also have looked at permissions on each folder path possible. It seems as if it works perfectly fine but I'm getting these errors at start up. First this one: Then this one:

I don't like when programs make changes on their own to FSX files, so I neglected to do the cloud fix when reinstalling Active Sky recently. I am a registered owner of ASN but having some issues while running the software in Networked mode. When flying in Vatsim and at some intervals the sim crashes with the FSX apphang error. When not using ASN weather but using Vatsim weather using FSInn no issues whatsoever. Would be interested to know if anybody else using networked install is having similar issues before I raise a support ticket with HiFi Simulations. Thanks

Hi people, Im suddenly getting this as_btstrp.dll error whenever i start up fsx. If i click yes, fsx will CTD, if i click no, it will work, without active sky working. Currently have activesky next installed along with FSUIPC 4.934 (latest version) along with an endless list of extra addons. Please help me out here, i hope its something really simple...
