I purchased AS 2012 last night and installed it. Part of the installation process was to run X Guage. From my understanding, X Guage went through and updateed all the panels on the aircraft that I currently have on my PC. I have several more payware aircraft I haven't loaded to FSX. When I install them, do I need to go back through and run X Guage again to update the panels on those aircraft? What can I expect if I don't run X Guage after install on a new aircraft. Will AS 2012 still perform and i just won't have a map panel when flying that aircraft?

Hello,Could someone give some advice in regards to the minimum hardwere specs needed to run Active Sky 2012?. I am concerned about how much frame impact may I have when combining PMDG 737NGX, a relatively dense airport (as KLAX from FSDreamTeam) and Ulttimate Traffic 2 together with AS 2012.Thank you very much for your help!Dan

Hi everyone,First of all I'll try to give my short feedback (fyi, I own &@($* since AS 6.5).To me, AS2012 is the new absolute reference about FSX weather. If you are a user of the previous versions of AS, you won't get lost, as the HiFi way of thinking the interface remains the same (even if design has been slightly modified). So what's new ? Lot of things, AS2012 documentation is online, and the list is soooo long. It is in no way a ASE 2.0-like. Hi and thank you for AS 2012.I had ASE and Flight Environment X from Flight1 installed. I installed AS 2012 and uninstalled ASE. AS 2012 has so much to offer with graphics that I am thinking of uninstalling FEX. Before I do that I would like to know if you have any rocommendations to be sure I don't do something wrong.Should I re-install default textures from FEX menu before uninstalling?What are the backup textures in AS2012? are they the ones that were "active" when I installed AS2012 which would mean they were the textures I had from FEX and not the original FSX textures?Thank you for your supportDan

I just downloaded and installed AS2012. I have run into a slight issue and want to know if anyone else is experiencing it or if there is a known fix. Whenever I open up a menu item that would pause the flight (i.e. World -> Map; World -> Time & Date; FS-PassengersX Info Pane; etc etc), when I resume the flight I will have a myriad of issues (i.e. everything will be black, or I will see the sky and some items on the 2D Panel, or the VC will show the PFD, but nothing else, or external view will show only the wings, etc etc). Hi, Im using a latop for my client computer for FSX. I loaded up ASE2012 and loaded some textures and the son of a b**** gave my laptop a blue screen. It's not overclocked at all and its in perfect shape and I do not running anything on but Active sky. I like to know why this is happening?Cheers

Hi there,AS2012 is really a great program! The WX influence system is great to always have different flying conditions.I have however one question :How can I isolate a texture so it can not be selected at all by the WX influence system? In fact, I want the system to choose sky textures from AS2012 but if I do not like especially one texture, how can I tell the system not to choose that texture?Thanks in adavance,Best regards,Pierre Laine

Damien and crew,As a long time user of X-Graphics, ASA, ASE and now AS2012, I am astounded with the performance of the new weather engine and the spot on depiction of the weather, Combine this with the unbelievable HD graphics and IMHO this is a cracker. No more messing with FSUIPC for wind smoothing with PMDG planes.Congratulations!

This is the first one that I have ever experienced and the only other thing I have done is install AS2012 and the SP1b update for the NGX. Maybe just a coincidence, very disturbing however.

This is something that has been discussed many times and sometimes you get into trouble when letting external texture programs like AS 2012 replace the original FSX lights.Currently I'm doing all my flying in PMDG's NGX and as I understood it having AS 2012 replace the a/c strobe and spotlight will not affect the NGX since it has it's own built-in lights, could someone who knows this stuff confirm this? Also...will the new fx_2.bmp and spotlight.bmp only affect the user a/c or also online (IVAO MTL) and AI a/c?

Hi all,been an ASE user for quite some time and now jumped onto AS2012. I'm very satisfied so far.However, one thing has been bugging me since ASE:Why do CBs always produce lightning and thunder depictions, even if there is just "CB" in the METAR and no TS reported? This is especially annoying during winter time.I used to "fix" this by just renaming the appropriate .fx and sound files so that lightning and thunder roar would no longer be depicted, but this cannot be the right solution.What am I doing wrong?Thanks

Hi All,as a very happy ASE(+REX for textures) customer I am, as many others, wondering about upgrading or not to 2012.One of my main concerns is : I use ASE on a networked PC, along with small addons like Ivap, the eye,... so that the main FSX PC is free of all the addons load.Question 1 is : as there seams to be textures involved in AS2012, is it still possible to do this and what consequences will it have on the use of AS2012 ?Question 2 : are there significatn differences in weather depiction between the 2 or are the changes mainly about textures, in which case how would it function in a networked setup ?Many thanks in advance

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I was just wondering whether there's a way to prevent station weather updates while taxiing. I've already set my ceiling to 10,000, but I still get ASE updating weather while I'm taxiing to the runway. Yes, I know I can turn off updates while I'm on the ground, but if I do that, the weather won't update when I start.Thanks.

I have buyed the new AS2012 and I am wondering something...Everytime I load a flight plan to follow.. it ask me if I want to install the AS2012 Graphics....Do I have to install those graphics everytime I make a flight? It is a little boring to install everytime. Or it just install all textures and AS2012 just pick up automatically the right textures depending on the weather, so I only have to choose one install?Also in Graphics tab, there is a button Wx Influenced that start to install textures.. But again don't know if I have to do it once.. or everytime I fly.It would be interesting to make an update in future to install all textures and just load them when needed…

First of all, thanks for what I understood already without even had the chance to try it out yet another great product! Since buying the product I've been busy trying to decide what textures to use :( but soon I'll try my first flight with AS 2012 and I'm very excited!One question regarding the routine for installing the textures you've chosen. I'm running AS 2012 on a networked second PC and the installation is a rather lengthy process and to me it appears even if I only change one of the textures let's say chosen cirrus clouds when I then press 'Install' it will copy ALL textures once again. I just got AS2012 and, with no surprise, I am very pleased!Yet, allow me a couple of suggestions/questions:1. Contrarily to ASE, I found the background of map very blury - as images (clouds, precipitation, etc.) are out of focus (please see the attached screenshot).2. In flight plan shown in the map, I suggest that the flight plan to the alternate airport be shown in a different color (in order to be not confused with the main flight plan).3.
