Can you please explain how this works in DWC mode. How does the weather/clouds change if this is checked? Does having this checked in DWC mode give a more or less realistic weather picture?

HiGot this problem of my clouds suddenly popping in from no where. Three flights i have tried now but always the same, at some pont along the route thick cumulis clouds will appear. I have tried a number of configerations but to no avail. What i have being doing is setting my flight plan and then starting FSX, everything else looks great but i have this annoying fact that i will be flying through what would appear clear skys and then all of a sudden the sky is full of clouds. On ASE before i upgraded all would was stable but now i dont know what is wrong. need some help lease.Thanks Shaun

Hi, how much free space should I have on my hard disk (laptop computer network connected to FS computer) at minimum to install and use AS2012?Thank you.

I am still downloading the program (started yesterday!) but as my broadband is hardly any faster than dial-up I wondered if there are any plans to release the program on DVD? Sadly it looks as if it is going to take me at least another day to complete my download (I hate to think what will happen if any of it is corrupted - PC through the window probably!)

I've noticed if I minimize AS2012 then go back later its back on the status screen. Could you make it possible to remember the last tab opened and return it there when reopened. I like to constantly check my winds aloft through my flight plan or check the weather report at destination airport. Its not a big deal but ASE used to remember the last tab opened even after being minimized. Just a small request.Thanks for the great upgrade.

Installed this on a win7 64bit machine. Selected the FSX path and then after selecting the AppData path it locks up.This is a network install and the paths were verified before the AS2012 install.Tried several times to complete the install and all were unsuccessful.Tried uninstalling and when the dialog box comes up for restoring FSX graphics it locks up and I'm Unable to remove it from the machine.Steve

Hello everyoneI installed ASA12 tonight and i have to admit its a vast improvement over ASE. I still have the abrupt weather change (in DWC mode) that some people still see but i think it may be user error. If i am flying the NGX for example what is the best way for ASA12 to handle the weather? Should i load the flight plan and then process through ASA12? Will this prevent the abrupt weather changes? What would be best practice for setting up these flights? I tried it in ASE and it looks like it works but i just wanted to see if this is how most people on here plan the weather for their flights. Still experimenting with the new version but so far its awesome and brings FS…

Hello,I've been getting "Pure Virtual Function Call" errors, ever since I installed AS2012. This causes FSX to crash, with the faulting module being "visualfx.dll".I have not had this type of error for YEARs - since the early FS9 - Activesky days, but I seem to remember that this is caused by some process trying to call another instance of itself. I am running FSX, with UT2, FSCommander 9.1.1, RC4.3, & STB v3.1, so I know that a lot is loaded. Up until the install of AS2012, (using ASE), FSX ran fine. I use Rex2 textures, also.Any other reports of this issue, or ideas?ThanksBill

Hi folks.I started with HIFI Sim back with Active Sky 4 about 6 years ago and upgraded up to 6.5. Now I am finally going to new computer in a couple of weeks. I have all of the installer files for varioius versions/upgrades back to 4.5, a rather confusing mess honestly but I have lost my receipts or order numbers. My log in and password to your support site don't work anymore, [looks like at some point you went to email address ID]so I cannot sign in to re register.It looks like I would somehow have to start with AS 4 or 4.5 and reinstall on top of that old product sequentially since the installer files for AS 6 require the presence of AS 4. Today was my first use of AS2012 and found 2 glaring issues:1) After initializing AS2012, the home screen that gives users vital information regarding updates,etc, does not have a "home" or "back" button. After reading about the latest FSUIPC note on the home page, I clicked on the forum link to download the latest FSUIPC module. However, I was not able to clear the Pete Dowson forum page within AS2012. I had to close the program and re-start in order to see the AS2012 home page. Am I missing something here or was the "home" button availability overlooked?2) With FSX running, the Wx Report does not lock to the nearest station or airport when checked. It always refers back…

Hi !When I choose weather influenced setup from the graphics menu I get an "Install Wx Influenced error!" and when I press "ok" custom theme is loading. I have AS2012 on a 2nd network computer. All other functions are working normally. Please helpPeter

As I am working all weekend and yet have been able to try, can you manually input waypoints such as VOR's into the flight plan prior to letting AS2012 autimatically select the wx textures? I dont use any flight planners and simply copy real world ones currently in use from various sources and then input them into the FMC. With ASE, this could not be done and thus I could only input the airports.

I have the haze layer back again but with no box to get rid of it this time. Can I use ASE to do this and then use AS2012 w/o getting it back again?I am also getting sudden cloud shifts all the time even though I have suppression range outside of my max vis set at 59nm and am above it above 10,000 feet. I am using standard depiction which never gave me sudden cloud changes in ASE as long as the suppression were set correctly.Thanks

Hi everyone just got as2012 and all is good!! What I would like to know is what I would need for a reinstall. I have asa.and ase which was upgrade and as2012 which is an upgrade. I would like to remove asa and ase but if I have to reinstall as2012 will it look for ase? thanks and great product!! keith

I have this black sky issue with AS2012. When below a ceratin altitude, the sky above is continuosuly getting more black as I climb. Then at some altitude, I pass through this black layer. Hello,Recently I purchased Active Sky Evolution as a replacement for AS6.5 (using FS9). Everything works fine, except for one feature: the voice ATIS service. The sound sets are activated during ASE initialisation and the relevant box in the config screen has been ticked. I also checked the COM settings in the aircraft config file. Everything seems to be OK, but still no sound when 122.000 is being selected. All other sounds (like ATC) work well. Am I overlooking something? Thanks in advance for any input.Regards,René

The opening screen is too small, it does not show all features. I can move the screen but cannot change the size of the screen.

I have a few questions that come to mind, sorry in advance.1) I haven't done a theme yet, just letting ASE do it all, I will do a theme creation I guess, still don't understand some aspects of the program, like the route planner, it imports textures. so when it doesn't it just used what you got?2) So this in mind, whats the difference between using the route planner, and using ASE textures, and just loading in? I have ASE set to Force to sim time. Works like a charm in the Pacific Northwest. But now I have gone down under and ASE is giving me snow all the time in spring...! Seems ASE doesn't know I am on the other side of the world...? What can I do to remedy this?

I got ASE about two weeks ago and am loving it! when I installed it I didn't know that you could run it on a networked computer. My question is: can I move ASE from my FSX computer to my laptop with out having to buy it again, and if so, how?Thanks,

I wonder if those already using AS2012 could coment on the performance. I do not yet have the recommended Intel i series CPU I'm still running a Core2 Quad Q9650 at 3.0GHz, with 4GB DDR2 RAM and a Geforce GTX550Ti 1.0GB video card.Has anyone with a similar setup got AS2012 and if so does it run ok? Ahh, had a very nice flight last night up the B.C. coast. Almost everything worked seemingly perfectly (one small item - will raise a support ticket once my registration is completed), and the results were awesome.I have a question regarding the start up order. Re the Manual, pg. 13, it says you can start FSX and AS in any order, and I have done it both ways now. My question is, I almost always fly at sim times which are not current (most often I go back a few hours in time). If you load AS2012 first, AS2012 is going to depict the most current wx since FSX is not yet running, is it not? I am mad, haven't had ASE installed on my system for a while, and I just took the plunge and bought 2012 :(.I have rex currently installed, how do I properly remove those files? Do I even have to remove all of those files?Alex
