I am doing a clean install of ASE. I keep getting a screen when I start the exe saying, "FS9 Application Data Location Not Found!" I point it to C:\Myname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9 but it still tells me thats not the right location. I have also tried pointing it to C:\Myname\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\ASE and also C:\Myname\AppData\Roaming\HiFi I am running Windows 7 64bit. Thanks for any help.

Afternoon guys.Here's the problem:I start ASE, and then start FS. Sitting on the ground, everything is fine. After takeoff (minute or two), the weather clears. If I return to the departure area, the weather returns. It's almost as if the program is only succeeding in writing the weather for the departure area and that's it.Here are the oddities:ASE Tracks my location the whole entire time. Hi,I am having all sorts of problems depicting low level cloud.1) FS92) B6513) DWC enabledI flew into Hamburg (EDDH) last night, and was greatly looking forward to the approach. The METAR was giving 5000 BR OVC005. This is what we have also been reporting at work (London) all week. I would expect to be firmly in the white stuff all the way down approach, not seeing the runway, and popping out at around 500ft to be welcomed by some bright runway lights.Instead, on the fight from London there was lovely overcast all the way, but as I descended towards Hamburg this changed. Hi,I am planning on running ASE from my laptop (network configuration). I am confused about FSX SDK service packs. Shall I first install SDK from my FSX CD and then upgrade to SDK SP2 or just to SP1a? The ASE manual says SP1a.Thanks

I don't think the community is asking for an exact release date, but we are wondering as to when generally we can expect Active Sky 2012. Will it be around Q4 2011? or Q1 2012? etc. Again, just an estimate. Keep up the good work guys.

Hi folks, have been using ASA with fsx for long time now, yesterday it did stop working, can't get it to load the program, I start the program and the loading screen comes up, and then it crashes and I get a message saying ASA have stopped working and is searching for a resolution, have uinstalled the program, deleted the hifi folder in programs, and installed it again, but no result, have disabled my anti virus program, no luck..., any ideas?

Hi,I did a forum search on this here and all that turned up was one guy that fixed it with B644 update from Feb of 2011. This purch of ASE was made a month ago so I think I am up to date here with Build 647. So Yesterday morning I am sitting on the ramp at Anchorage PANC in the predawn hours for hours trying to figure out how to get this new MD11 fired up properly and it starts raining at -20c!. The sky was also few clouds only, some mid level stratus. The metar I got on ADDS an hour earlier was clear and the TAF was all clear untill 12 hours later when it was to start light snow. Hi,Is this possible without having fs on my second computer. I haven't attempted it yet but would like to have as little data as possible so would prefer to not install fs2004 just to have ASE control my weather networked.Can ASE be tricked into thinking I have fs2004 installed by just copying across a few folders. ASE will be used for weather updates only. By the way I have licensed widefs and fsuipc.Also is it possible to get audio metars by tuning radio in while networked.ThanksGraham

I am just flying KJFK-EHAM in the PMDG 737NGX via the following track: KJFK MERIT3 MERIT HFD PUT WITCH ALLEX YQX 50N050W 51N040W 52N030W 53N020W MALOT GISTI LIFFY UL975 WAL UM16 DOLAS UL603 LAMSO EHAM. I generate the track in Aivlasoft EFB and save it in FSX and PMDG formats, and then import it into ASE and into the 737NG FMC. The FMC shows all the waypoints, but ASE shows nothing between YQX and MALOT, and shows the distance between these as 189 nm, which is actually the distance between YQX and 50N050W. Any suggestions welcome.

HiI have run into something strange that I have not seen before. Clouds Redraws every 5-10 min!?From the beginning with FSX and ASE in DWC mode and the Prevent Cloud Redraw in FSX is ticked I havenever seen any redraw of clouds. Now suddenly it happens. So..What have I done I asked my self. For a week a have been flying around with some small airplanes around myhome town in Sweden so I set the weather to Smooth Cloud Transitions. I worked OK at low level and low speeds.Then I got into Airliners again, PMDGs new 737NGX released a SP1. Hi everybody, I'm having problems with the departure airport temperature, but only in one airport: SVMI (Caracas,Venezuela). When I choose this airport, the temperature in the sim is about 10 ºC less than the one in ASE, This happens often, but not always, sometimes the temperature is right. Hello!It's time to reinstall FSX but before I'll to do that I must uninstall a few addons and Active Sky X and X Graphics belong those series I suppouse. I don't want reinstall my OS (WIN7 64 bit) and I don't want any problem either so thats why I ask from pro-men that about what is a correct way to uninstall those 2 addons?Once time as I uninstalled these products I got a few seriously problem and I had only one solution to solve them: reinstall OS and it's very long process and I don't like do it now.I hope that some one could help me.RegardsRolf

As I had explained to you in our past conversations, I have found success using DWC for departure and enroute and then switching to Standard on descent to assure that FSC ATC assigns me the correct runway at destination. I have noticed that the suppression options seem to work when it comes to the altitude but not when it comes to the "ground" suppression. Upon landing, ASE begins to continually update stations every so many seconds. This makes for a very choppy ride in heavy scenery airports. I suppose I could go back to my desk top and change to DWC again but it seems like much wasted effort for the few minutes taxi to the gate, but the stuttering is ve…

After heavy metal sessions (QW752, PMDG744), I decided to glide a bit (Aerosoft DiscusX obviously). So I added CumulusX to the addons list. The questions are: how to set them up and how to get rid of the CX cumulus textures?I have renamed Thermaldescription.xml in FSX root folder and disabled thermals/ridge lift inside ASE. Is that all for proper work? I know CX produces lift in some areas (so it is working), but maybe others have better solution to the case.Would it be enough to move or rename CX textures to prevent CX clouds from popping up? I just recently bought and downloaded Active Sky Evolution as I was getting fed up with the default FSX weather causing my aircraft to overspeed due to unrealistic winds, and then subsequently crash. Now, I am having a slight issue with keeping ASE as the default weather. I have the weather set up on FSX and "User Defined". I run ASE before starting up FSX. To first get ASE to be the primary weather, after I start the flight I have to open my menu, go to weather, and hit the "OK" button (because, as stated, User Defined is already selected). Dont get me wrong, I Know that ASE and REX are as good as it gets but comming from fs9 there are some things that are different that are bugging me.I have been trying to get the weather generation like it was in fs9 because it was so much more realistic. DWC and smoothing to me are not as realistic as standard. When you are really flying in an airplane you can see the weather coming from a ways off and standard mode is the only way to get this. Otherwise the clouds just fade in and out under you as you fly into different Metar areas. The problem is is that ASE will not let you use the visibility smoothing feature for standard.
