I have a repeating problem with the wind during descent. It is now autumn in Europe and there are strong winds. I flew ENVA-ENGM, ESMS-ESSA and EKCH-EDDH. Upper winds about 60-100kts and still about 30kts or more @FL100.About 40-50NM to destination passing ~FL200-FL150 the winds are constant about 40kts there was always a sudden wind shift to less than 10kts. Reloading the weather took it back to normal strong winds.DWC is on and I have the latest release for my FSX.

Hello, I bought Active Sky Evolution today, but it appears that the license key is invalid (the message during start up is "Invalid key, your license key is invalid"). Does anyone have this problem? How can I solve it? Regards Joao Guimaraes

ASE worked perfectly well for months and months up until yesterday when after starting the programit just crashed with the subsequent Win7 AppCrash warning. I have since tried to repair it (failed),uninstall and reinstall (failed). Not sure what else I can do, the PC hasn't had anything added hardwareor software wise. My OS is Win7 HP 64bit. I run ASE from a networked machine. I built and installed a new FSX machine. Now when I start ASE on the remote machine, ASE asks for the path to FSX. I can navigate to the FSX folder on the other machine but only folders are displayed, not the individual files including FSX. How do I get these individula files to appear? (I have checked "show hidden files" in the folder options. If I use exployer on the ASE machine, I can navigate to FSX but not within the window suppliued by ASE. Is there an ASE ini file where I could add the path to FSX?

Hello, I wanna know how to apply ASE weather setting to FSX immediatly. Is there any button like "Apply to FSX"? While testing some flights with ASE weather ans clear weather, I realized I can "clear" skies by selecting clear skies in FSX butcouldn't set ASE weather again. After clicking few buttons - REFESH, Apply weather on Wx config tab, ASE crashed. No way to applying ASE weather without restarting ASE?

Hi,I posted this in the FSX section, but no solution found, so someone advised me to post here. I try to sum it up here.My rig and add-ons : I use FSX, Active Sky X, REX 2.0 textures, mainly PMDG add-ons, all with latest updates, my graphic card is a ATI HD5870 with last drivers, CPU I7E860 not o/c, mb P7P55D, 8 gigs RAM, Win 7 64 bits..The facts:Since I switched to FSX, some months ago, I've got a frustrating problem for which I need your help for a solution, even if I know FSX and weather processing might be crap. I spent hours looking for a solution, without success. The problem: randomly, when on final, with bad METARs (mainly visibility under 10km) whatever on which …

OK, this is the next question I have, and this one has me very puzzled. Instead of using live downloaded weather, I have been attempting to use the WX Config option. I will copy a valid METAR from a weather site and paste it into ASE (please see pic below). I then select the Application Range to Global as I'm flying in a fairly small area and the station for the METAR is about 70 nm away from where I am. I then hit the "Apply Weather" button, and you get the window you see below. All looks ok. However, FSX does not seem to actually receive this weather. You will note the winds at 17007 in the METAR, but 320 at 6 kts (seems to be the standard that FSX produces no matter w…

Hi Guys For no reason at all I can see, ASE just stopped working across my network. When I try the suggested 'test' (from the ASE manual) of running the the AITraffic.exe from the SDK in the client, the monitor shows nothing. I don't recall making any changes that may affect SimConnect. I've tried using IP addresses and names, but neither makes a change. Any ideas gratefully received. Here are my simconnect entries... Server: simconnect.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0"><Descr>SimConnect</Descr><Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename><Disabled>False</Disabled><…

I've seen many posts about VATSIM temperatures being high during cruise but I can't figure mine out. I have ASE and use that for my weather. CAVOK on FSInn is turned off. None-the-less, as soon as I let ASE update my weather, in cruise, the temperature shoots up to around 45 C at FL350 causing a number of problems. Any ideas? Again, I have FSInn CAVOK turned off, and I've tried every ASE depiction mode.

Hey! I have been using VATSIM online weather for 3.5 years. I heard that AS simulates weather much better. What is the different beetween Active Sky 6.5 and AS Evolution? AS 6.5 is cheaper by 15 USD, so I think I will go for it.

Hello everyone! We've recently upgraded our website including a brand new back-end system and during the "upgrade" we noticed that our testimonials on file were fairly out-dated. While we have received many "kudos" and private "thank you" testimonials over the years including recently, we don't like to use them without specific permission and understanding that such text would be used in our marketing efforts. In that regard we're wondering if anyone would like to share their experiences with our products by providing testimonials, with the understanding that we would place these on our "new" website and marketing materials? If you'd like to provide such a testimonial …

Hi,OK, so I'm enroute right now over El Salvador when my altimeter starting winding down like mad. Looks like station MSSS is causing the problem:MSSS 1950 19005KT 9999 F027 33/21 Q10154 A2998 HZObivously a mistake in the reported QNH. Is there any way in a future version that erroneous values such as this can be ignored so they don't cause havoc. Things seem to be setting down now, but I've been attitude flying the last 100 miles with various swings of the the altimeter, etc.Edit BTW this is B647 of ASE. Now another one is causing problems MHAM with an interpolated QNH of 1181 mb!!!

Good Day All, and in particular Mr. Skorna, I've been using ASE for quite a while now (and ASA before that), and find I'm a tad confused about a few things, so I'm wondering if I could please get a little help in interpreting some data. I'm fully familiar with METAR's and whatnot, this is more to do with what actual weather I really am getting at my location. So, I have a few screen shots to help with my question here. First up, I'm flying in an area that doesn't have a reporting station (mostly in the bush - when are you ASE folks going to institute the most common "weather" phenomena there is in the Canadian bush - "warm and muggy with severe mosquitoes ? ), so a lot of…

I fully support your measures Damien Clark and hope you can identify and prosecute pirates of ASE. I never have figured out how software piracy can be so "successful" with so many verification procedures when using it. It seems they could better use their time by just purchasing the product.Best wishes for success.Neal howard

Hello everyone, We'd like to thank Jim Skorna for his service over the years.... he has been a great help and we sincerely appreciate his hard work and long standing positive relationship with HiFi and the flight simulation community. Unfortunately he will no longer be serving as our Support Manager. Please join me in thanking him for his service and congratulating him for his new "real life" role where his time and resources are very much needed. Thank you Jim, and good luck with everything! We hope to see you around the forums and in the simulated skies!

Hi Damian, Running captioned version (build 533) years now. Never usually have issues but for the second time in the last week I'm now seeing this error despite having an active functioning internet connection. Last time I just quit and eventually ASv connected ok when I tried again a couple hours later. The old fs machine is running WinXP SP3, antivirus disabled makes no difference, and no firewall other than Windows, turned that off too. Any server issues lately on your end or possibly something going on with mine? As I type this ASv not connecting. ThanksMark Reynolds
