I have recently purchased ASE and I'm delighted with it. I love the flight planning/auto install snapshot option. I just have one general interest question. When a flightplan is loaded and ASE is asked to choose/install a graphics snapshot to install, is this a random process based on the wx category options. ie if it is raining and you have snapshots of say 3 texture sets eg one from Graphics X, one from REX and one fron FEX in the "Rain" category, does ASE randomly choose a texture set to load or is it more complicated.I'm not asking for a technical answer, but just in general terms. I thought it might help me to decide how many texture sets to snapshot in each category…

When flying the new PMDG 737nx and using ASE and weather program my auto pilot keeps disconnecting and plane rolls violently. The wind speed and direction constantly changes 23-30 degrees. I keep getting crazy s turns and when plane tries to correct itself pass 30 degrees back, autopilot kicks off and plane rolls out of control.If I switch back to AS6.5, all goes well, no more s turns and volent wind changes. This only occurs with this particular aircraft. I tried with PSS 757 and Feelthere busus and they work ok with ASE. Not sure if this has been reported, please advise solution.Thanks in advance for help.Bill M

good day,reading the manual, but do I need put the setting for fsuipc as stated on page 9 for fsx. I have fs9 and wondering if I need to put these same settings for smoothing? Rick

After reinstalling Win 7 x64 premium and FSX on my main sim computer ASE on a secondary computer won't work any more. After answering prompt on where my FSX folder is I recieve an error message, Database write corruption problemYour station database could not be updatedI have shared the three folders mentioned in the manual. But the main FSX folder denies access when trying to open it even though it's displayed on the secondary computer. I forgot to change the default installation folder during the installation. HiI have a problem in my fs9. IN the last two days I have not been able to download any historic weather, only the current weather.Furthermore I started to get CTD when loading the weather at 77 % in fs.When downloading from the fs weather generator the same occurs but not if I use the set up theme clear weather from the fs weather generater. As soon as I choose something with clouds I get CTD.I can still open a saved flight and it opens with the weather, that it was saved with. So at first it seems fine but after a few minutes I get CTDAny idea ?

I am using ASE over a network. It works great unless I have an FSX crash (program crash) . The only way I can get ASE to connect again is reboot the FSX machine. Is there any other way?ThanksBruce

HiShould i have full version of FSUIPC to have smooth weather changes, or ASE is able to do this itself ?So far, especially wind changes is so rapid and erratic that sometimes navigation systems have problems to keep plane on track.Usually it happens during takeoff and landing, but also sometimes at high altitude wind gusts are very big.Which parameter can reduce those erratic and sudden changes? Running AS 6.5 for fs9 the last couple days, the downloaded weather has been about 5 to 6 hours behind. Was wondering if anyone else has this issue or is there is a server problem.-Thanks

I just purchased and installed ASE (FS9/XP). What a great app!!I have two questions:1)When I launch ASE, by default it tries to download weather after loading the internal files. That's great for folks who have a reliable internet connection (mine is down more often than up). Is it possible to configure ASE so that it does not automatically try to download upon start-up? (Otherwise, I have a 5-minute wait while it tries to connect to a non-existent connection.)2) On the WxConfig page, I'm unable to enter negative numbers in the temp and dewpoint boxes. Unfortunately, I get lots of days with sub-zero weather! Have tried with both of the "-" keys. What's the secret?Thanks, …

Hello.I notice that when I start ASE I see it trying to load up and it says "Net / Rep download failed,switching to 2nd server . This goes on until it finally says "Net/Rep download failure" What does this mean,and what should I do about it?WIN 7 64,fsx.Thanks.Dennis

Hi,I brought ASE ( Build 647 ) the other day but it does not seem to work the way it should for me so im guessing ive done something wrong but im not sure.Here is the issues im having.Wind Speed, The wind speed in FSX does not match the metar reported in ase - fsx will be 7kts calm and ase will report 17 kts gusting up to 29 ktsCloud cover - Over cast conditions are the same as an almost clear and sunny day, its just not drawing the cloudsFog - well fog is good up to 5000ft but then its clear skys all the way even though it can be raining with overcast conditions reported by the metar. Hi there,I am a long time ASE user (ASX, ASA...), pretty satisfied with the app.I also have a tablet PC with moving map, connected to virtual GPS thanks to FSUIPC. What I really miss, is a weather overlay. I use Jeppesen FlightDeck (v3.3, pretty old, but with weather capability), it only works with WxWorx subscription (expensive for a simmer) through XMLink. Since I do have a detailed weather in ASE, I would like to incorporate it there, would it be possible at all through XMLink?I know Xgauge works through SimConnect on a networked PC, so this should work also. I do not have any knowledge of XMLink so far...

Hi,After doing quite a bit of reading and research, I finally purchased ASE yesterday. The product seemed very promising, and I must say I was initially impressed. Unfortunately, this was short-lived and soon gave way to anger and frustration. As in the attached screenshots, I am getting random artifacts, tearing and other display problems. I have no idea if ASE is not liking my other add-ons but in the absence of ASE, they all happily worked together. I have not noticed anything specific triggering these issues. I have seen posted many times about how DWC controls weather "Globally" and how that can affect FSX AI traffic, the reported winds at destination and the runway FSX assigns. For example, I was given RWY26R at KATL on a recent flight even though the winds at the surface were 090 @ 14. This of course caused a strong tailwind on my final approach. Hi,I'm a happy user of ASE, until ... tonite !I was still using it last monday, but tonite when I click on the .exe Icon, it asked me to choose what FS version (it was not asking before as I chose this option in the past), I clock OK, then a windows message appears saying "ASE cesed working".I tried installing again: nothing more !I didn't make any change in the options or whatever for weeks now.Help is needed, thanks you !

Hi, In my case ASE SP3 (with and also without Beta 649) causes the following problem: Very often and over longer times wind direction and speed do change permanently by one or two degrees / one or two knots.These changes occure up to three times per second and they do significantly irritate the PMDG 737 NGX autopilot. Do you have any ideas on the reason for this annoying weather behaviour? Further specs: - DWC enabled- Turbulence influence to aircraft set to "Off" in FSX"- VATSIM weather- No registered FSUIPC If necessary I can post or send the respective ASE & FSX cfg-files.

If I set visibility in ASE at 60 but in the full FSUIPC is it possible to set visibility for different conditions (ie overcast) at 1000? Do they work together that way without a conflict? If so, in the sim, will it follow my FSUIPC settings or will everything be at the ASE 60?

For FS9I use win7 but the UAC is turned off so I have no problem with administrator rights.But there seems to be some problem with windows rights, something I'm not aware of (and I have no idea what this is) because it says I need to adjust windows security rights. Can you please help?

I go to c/users/myname/appdata/roaming/microsoft/fsx. Everytime ASE is open it ask for this path. And says the files/folders are not found. The computer is not on a network. Using win7 I just install ASE last night. Using witjh REX2. ThanksMaurice Jones

I had ASE working fine on a client machine. Something has broken and I have reviewed the troubleshooting steps in the manual. HiWorking through a new install of Active Sky Evolution SP3 and have come accross something that needs clarification. I've read the manual, however, cannot find mention of this.When the minimum visability is set to - let's say 1 nm, the FSX display will show the visability at 1 nm. However, as soon as I reach 2900 feet in altitude, the visability automatically switches to a distance greater than 1 nm. The same happens in reverse as you descend. You can see quite a way (greater than 1 nm), then when you reach 2900 feet the visability drops to the value set in the configuration screen.No doubt I don't quite understand something here.
