Hi every one! As I'm new to the forum, I don't know if anybody else has had this problem and/or if there's any solution apart from contacting support (which I already did). I just bought ASE directly from HiFi Software Marketplace (Order #xxxxx Removed for privacy) and the key I was given is not working... no matter how many times I enter the key I get this msg: "There was a problem writing your license key. Please enter again" Any suggestion/help will be highly appreciated. Best regards, Enrique Del Rosario

Hello everyone, Over the last several days our company and its members have been overwhelmed with threatening and strong words to us about our recent decision to put an end to Piracy and illegal unauthorized access to our servers. It is quite sad that those who are illegally using the software feel it is their right to use our products for free, and by us stopping them, we are somehow doing something unethical and illegal. They feel so strongly about this that some even threatened physical harm to us and our assets. Quite the contrary, we have absolutely no other option that we can see to continue to provide access to our legitimate customers. Pirate access has resulted…

On my laptop I already had ASE and was using it in my network. The problem is that I canot get ASE to work over the network as before. After the reinstall of FSX I also reinstalled the SDK : FSDX SDk, Sp1a, SDK Acc. What I did : Client : Changed the ip4 adress in Simconnect.cfg ( already in Documents ) to the new adres of the new server Set the new paths for ASE : Main FSX folder and AppDataRoaming Microsoft FSX folder . I was not asked for the path to Flight Simulator X files, nor does it exists in the registry. Before it …

Hi, I'm trying to get my ASE working with FS9 and FSX in a network. With F9 it is working fine, but I can't get to work properly with FSX. I have tried to follow the instructions point by point. But there are some issues that I'm not shore if I'm understanding them right. In the file there I should fil in the IP-address. Should it be the address to the server also on the servercomputer? When I'm suppose to test the network connection with the AI-traffic, from which computer will I do that? Edit: Forgot to say that on ASE computer I'm running Vista wireless and on the compute with FSX I'm using W7 64 Bit with wire

During a flight into VABB this evening I noted the following: - ActiveSky METAR winds for VABB show: 080/3- I checked the winds on my iPhone application "AeroWeather" and the realworld METAR was: 010/3- FSX ATC assigned me runway 27, so I checked VABB ATIS - it reported winds of 346/15- When I got closer in, the winds had changed to 010/3 (exactly what AeroWeather reported) - and I continued to land on 27 with a tail-wind... I know there are several threads on this, but I'm still confused. Why do the winds keep changing all over the map? I was under the impression that if ASX reported 080/3 80 nm from my destination, that the winds would indeed by 080/3 - this isn't the c…

Hello, All Active Sky Evolution users are invited to try our interim beta update B651. Since this is a beta, not an official release, this is used at your own risk. While we don't anticipate any issues, we always recommend backups before installing any non-official release. The update build is available here: http://dreamcatcher....Update-B651.zip Here is the revision log: - Improved performance of DWC write for better wind control.- Increased speed of DWC write for quicker wind, visibility, pressure and temperature smoothing changes, which should avoid “lagging” ambient conditions when making quick descents to landing.- Fixed problem with occasional …

Hello, I have just acquired ASE based on the fact that I used to love Activesky for FS9. I am currently downloading it, however I´m unsure whether to install it or not because in a couple of months I will be getting a totally new system to cope with the demands of FSX. I´d like to know whether I´ll be able to install it on the future computer with my current license key if I install it tonight on my current system. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello, I have been a long time user of AS6.5 with ASG for fs9 and am running on an ASUS 80ULVT laptop on a larger monitor. Overclocked I am doing decent with frames and a highly modified fs9 with some of the 3rd party heavy irons like ifly and pmdg. The other day I had a strange thing happen and that was upon entry into a flight and an ASG auto submit, as soon as the clouds appeared my fps crashed to 7. When I did not look at the sky fps went to locked limit of 20 but as soon as those clouds came into view I got 7. This has never happened for I run the 128/128 bit clouds, second up from lowest and even with many layers the hit is allways negligable. This happened more tha…

Hello everyone, i commenced a flight from EDDF to LOWW. I put the flightplan into ASE in the briefin section and received my average winds, which were to be 254/37. Each wind aloft at FL350 at each waypoint were somewhere between that average and ALL should come from the west, i.e. somewhere between 250-290. Well, sometime after initial climbout i had absolutey no winds at all, although in Frankfurt, weather was quite rough... later on, i had "some" winds but coming ALL from the east, most of the time from heading of 035 to 044 instead from the west. It was nearly the exact opposite direction?!?! Furthermore, sometimes weather was absolutely clear, as if i had no ASE ac…

I purchased ASE for my FSX program and love it, what I am questioning is whether I should purchase REX to improve upon the weather simulation within FSX. As I understand it, ASE only uses the weather graphics (ie clouds) that are built into the FSX weather generator. I have seen youtube videos where others have added REX and the cloud rendering is phenominal. How do the two interact. I understand the REX is it's own weather generator and I don't need that since I have ASE, but I also know there is a function to turn off weather generation and utilize the graphics only from REX to augment FSX and ASE.I have been using FSX since its early days, but it is only recently that …

I have Win7 FSX with all SP's (with the Accelaration package) and PMGD's 737 NGX just got FSUIP, ASE and FSBuild I understood that 'wind smoothing' via FSUIPC would be a good thing to get for the PMDG NGX flights. Turns out that the ASE documents suggest not to and to use their DWC(?) so I will write off FSUIPC. All I am trying to do is get ASE winds aloft into FSB and then have these actually in FSX, here is what I have done after just over 3 hours of forum searching... 1. I set FSB ACTIVESKY-WXRE (ACTIVESKY will not work - get error report) export directory path is as follows: C:\USERS\MIKE\APPDATA\ROAMING\HIFI\ASE\WEATHER2. Checked Apply Winds Aloft Data in FSbuild's…

I am using ASE with the latest SP and AI Wind Lock on. However whenever I do a flight the winds at the airport I am going to are often wrong, and seem to be backwards. Once I land it changes around, is this because of DWC? Any tips would be great.

Hi, Two months ago my previous computer started to fail seriously. So I decided to buy some components and build a new rig. I am now in the phase of installing all the programs we use for flight simulation. My new rig runs W764b and my flight simulator is FS9. This evening I have tried to install Active Sky v6.5 in my new computer, but it is impossible. Every time I have tried it the AS6.5's set-up program has failed while trying to install MS .Net Framework v1.1. I have had a look into my rig's control panel, and I have seen there is installed MS .Net Framework v4. I think it was installed the first time windows update did its work after the OS installation. Please, help…

I am getting back into flight simming after a few years off. I just got a new computer and have; FSX (with the expansion pack)FSBuildPMDG 737NGX I used to use ASv6 back in the FS9 days along with FSUIPC I assume that I have to get ASE now (no problem) What I assume I can do to get upper level winds into the sim ispurchase FSEsomehow get FSBuild to inject upper winds into its flight planning from ASEsomehow get ASE to inject these winds into FSX is this correct? I do not do online stuff and dont need realtime current wx nor do I have FSUIPC anymore (may be able to still get it though). I only got FSUIPC back in the day to smooth out the wind shears. Does FSE take care o…

hello everyone, a few days ago i had very big problems concerning winds aloft beeing absolutely incorrect during my short haul flights in europe and america. Winds were always incorrect and most of the time in the opposite direction although the downloaded data from ASE was correct. the first conclusion was that the SimConnection was broken or damaged. Now i found the real answer. The problem is the Option: ATC Wind Lock. During short haul trips, this option, due to the fact that departe and destionation airport are so close, overwrites ALL wind aloft datas and inserts the winds of the departure airport all the way down to the arrival airport, where in the worst case it s…

I am trying to reinstall ASE without XGraphics and Texture Snapshots. Here's what I've done: 1. Uninstall XGraphics from Control Panel2. Uninstall ASE from Control Panel3. Delete the "\Program Files\HiFi" folder4. Delete the "AppData\Roaming\HiFi" folder5. Delete the HiFi registry hierarchy at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HiFi6. Delete the "Snapshots" folder from inside my FSX program folder.7. Reinstall ASE After all of that, I still get the prompt "Install Graphics Snapshot Textures?" after importing and processing a flight plan into ASE. How can I get rid of that prompt? It shouldn't give that prompt when there are not installed snapshots should it? Thanks!
