Hello. I'm using FSX and noticed ASE only supports pure FSX flight plan. But including me, many simmers are using valid Navdata for flights. So, how could I get wind data using these current navdata? For example, there is a VOR station named ABC in FSX, but changed XYZ currently.Does ASE can see XYZ in spite of it does not belongs to FSX? There seems many programs making routes but.. how can I convert them to be recognized by ASE?Also how can I convert again into it's original add-on type of rte data? Sorry for my poor English..But I need some help to use wind aloft data for my flight. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.Should I use 3rd party route program? Then plea…

I nearly always fly FSX using ASE build 647 in historical mode so that I can exit the simulation and then reload it several hours later to continue/complete my flight. Is it necessary that I exit and reload ASE each time or can I simply leave Active Sky running but minimized to my task bar?

I am not a fan of real weather (it usually isn't the kind of weather I like to fly in at that moment ;) ) but I am a fan of ASE because it creates beautiful skies! Only recently I discovered you can save the current real weather for future use so I started saving nice weather configurations for future use. Now simply loading the weather works well: it seems its immediately appplied to FSX. But sometimes I'd like to change the weather a little, so I go to the WS Config page, edit the weather and click Apply... but then a lot of things don't change at all. Like the last time I tried this I deleted various layers of clouds but they didn't go away in FSX, no matter what I did…

I remember it was the topic by Jim with his ASE set-up for both FS2004 and FSX and it's no longer here (and I cannot find it). Could you please help me to locate it. ThanksDmitriy

Active Sky Advanced, a previous generation product, has reached end of life and is officially superseded by Active Sky Evolution. Official support and online server availability for ASA will cease on October 1, 2011. Active Sky Advanced users should immediately upgrade to ASE which is offered as a free upgrade via our website at http://www.hifitechinc.com (downloads).

Would someone who is getting accurate enroute and destination weather please provide their ASE option selections. I am unable to get very low clouds to appear on approach. Say 200' overcast, or 400', or even 800'. Other clouds and visibility are good. Thanks, zach

Hello, It seems there is something going on with emails between me and your email system. Since my purchase (yesterday), I have not received the email with my purchase information, nor have I received replies or ticket numbers from 3 support requests. Could you please investigate? Thanks,Cyclopean (Richard Gardner).

Since my upgrade I run ASE on the same machine as FSX. I miss being able to get METAR and especially Winds Aloft from my laptop (where AS6.5 used to run on WideFS).Is there an alternate way I can still view the data from the AS servers....without swapping screens etc on my FS PC?Ta!

Hello I have just started using ASE after a long break and having an anomoly with Winds aloft, over the last several days when I have checked the winds aloft data in the report screen its always coming from the 250-290 degrees no matter what australian airport I am sitting at, I have checked I am downloading current weather, all TAF airport information is accurate, am i misunderstanding the winds aloft data. Either way even if its only for a particular region I would expect winds aloft would not always be in the 250-290 directional range, is winds aloft really that predictable from a directional point of view, thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question Wayne

Hi All, We at HiFi need to know if the VATSIM weather at your departure and destination airports is up to date if you are using real time weather. We are attempting to see if the change in their weather servers is affecting our programs. Please just respond with a simple yes or no answer as no other explanations are needed at this time unless you feel it would add to our knowledge. Thanks!

  17. Running AS6.5 and FS9 on win XP. Not running widefs or anything like that. For the last few months I haven't been able to download weather archives from the day before to a few months before. "The weather for the specified date range was not found. (Or there was an error," But I've had no trouble downloading archives from say last year. Download current has always worked fine also. Now today I tried force secondary and force primary and since then I get a message on startup; "Error initializing, Check your INI file". Looking at the ASv6.ini file I see nothing obvious wrong although I have no idea what it should look like. Any ideas what might be wrong? I don't relish the…

Using FSDT LAX v2 and Megascenery SoCal What cause this?

  19. Hi, I run ASv6.5 (currently build 554, SU3 installed) since a long time with no problem, but since yesterday I have that msg on startup: "Error Initializing - Check your INI file". Them ASV freezes most of the time, displaying "main thread error" (whether FS9 is started or not) and whenever I try to download current or historical weather I get a win XP 'incorrect filename' or 'incorrect path' error and the program crashes. Yesterday I was suspecting a corrupted ini file following an HDD defragmentation, so I ran ASV installer to 'repair' the installation, and then it went OK. But today the issue is reappearing, and my ini file looks OK.I can see one other forumer having t…

Hello ! As many, I'm interested in Prepar3D.Does ASE support this polished version of MS'ESP ? And more important, as information on Active Sky 2012 is (as the time being) completely hidden in HiFi site, will AS2012 support Prepar3D ? I've read Jim's message in Prepar3D forum, but it's not clear for me ;-) I know that I can try it (I have 3 instances of ASE and 2 of Prepar3D) but I should want a technical advice from HiFi . I know this has been posted before, but I can't seem to find the thread that covers my exact problem. I am running ASE Build 647 and have noticed that the winds at the destination airport are about a 180 degree difference from what ASE says it should be. Once I land (usually on the wrong runway), I notice that FSX will gradually correct the winds. However, at this point, I am landing on a runway with tailwind, and AI planes are taking-off right at my windscreen. This is frustrating, and I am looking for a solution. Thank you!
