Hey Jim, or anyone else, Just purchased this program, and am playing around with various shader mods to enhance shadows,, light, and 'fog' values. Any idea if these will be changed if/when I install a weather/conditions generated 'Graphics Snapshot' following my briefing/report? Thanks in advance Brian EDIT: Just installed an ASE snapshot, and yes, it looks like if I install my Shader mod, it will be over-written by the generated ASE 'snapshot'. Drats. I do like the extra punch I can give the shadows, but there is no way to only select one (light,shadow,fog) from the program, thus all three get changed, and I do like how ASE modifies these others per the weather condition…

Using ASE. Often I can see clouds that are far away in front of clouds that are close to me. Obviously this ruins the experience. Is there a problem that can be fixed here.

Jim I downloaded service pack 3 for 647 ase and installed I think, where can I check to see if it installed?

With all of the service packs and simconnect issues, for the third time I have run out of permission to activate ASE. It has taken months for me to get simconnect going, but now I am locked out of using ASE. Does anyone know the best way to get direct support? K Edit: OK, I just found the HiFi support ticket system...never mind!

Hi I've installed AS6.5 on a Windows 7 netbook running WideFS to take the burden off my main FS PC. Unfortunately, the max resolution that can be displayed on the netbook is 1024x600. This means that when I load the options page on AS I can't see more than two thirds down the page and therefore can't edit all settings or click on the save button!!! I know I can tweak the config file behind the scenes, but is there a workaround so I can view the options screen in full?? Many thanks Russ

I saw this last night with ASE controlling the weather, is it avoidable or is it just one of those things? Toby

Is there a light switch for the XGauge? I've never been able to find one and yet I've also never seen another post complaining that you can't see it properly once the sun goes down, which leads me to the suspicion that I'm missing something rather basic. Cheers, SLuggy

Hey all, First of all, here is what im running - FSX w/ ASE, REX, UTX and GEX. I also have a registered FSUIPC installed. For ASE I am using the config settings that are stickied ontop of the forum here. I am wondering how to get more of a gradual transition in weather... the clouds seem to generate rather suddenly, it will go from clear skies to clouds everywhere, then back to clear skies again. I can remember when I was using FS9 with AS 6.5, the weather would fade more naturally as you entered different scenarios. Its sort of odd to have clouds popping up and disappearing all the time. Any help appreciated!

Hi, I have been using ASE off and on for a while now and have just installed sp3. I am interested in enhancing my real world weather flying experience. Reading the forums here and for the NGX there is mention of the fsxoptions.cfg file and the various parameters within. I am running W7 64 with FSX and cannot find this file. Show hidden files and folders is checked and I have done a search on my HDD with no luck, ASE is installed in the default location. Could someone let me know what I am doing wrong here, where should I be looking? Rick Desjardins

Hello, I have purchased Active Sky X (Build 1160). After starting the software it works correct only for setting up the actual weather where I am. The textmessages are coming up in the FSX and the weather changes in seconds to actual weather. If I change the weather manually or loading weather from disk and hit Apply Weather I get the dialog "Weather applied" but nothing happens, nothing is changing and I do not get any Text message in FSX. Even hitting "Refresh Weather" is not doing anything... I have FSX SP2 (Accelleration) on windows 7 64-Bit. Regards,Carsten

I'm using ASE SP3 build 647 on a networked computer and FSUIPC version 4.712 within FSX. Today I flew from London Gatwick to Edinburgh in the 737NGX. During the climb, approx FL200 I noticed at waypoint EBOTO the wind was 229/09 and TAT -2C, the wind in ASE's Briefing screen said it should be 192/40 at this waypoint. As I climbed towards FL240 it suddenly jumped to 194/41, later in the climb (FL290) it went to 230/9 for a while then jumped again to 195/45 at FL300. It seemed stable during the cruise at FL310, then started jumping again to 229/9 during the descent. This figure 229/09 was the ground level wind at Gatwick. Hi, since some days I'm experiencing a strange issue that I did not notice before. If I quit from FSX and then I launch it again, ASE does not load the weather even if it is still running. To solve I have to quit again from FSX and close ASE and after relaunch ASE and FSX. Is this normal? If not how can i solve ? Thanks and best regards Joe

Hi @ all! To prevent the S-Turn Issue of PMDG aircrafts, I reduced Turbulencescaling in FSX.cfg to 0.5.In FSUIPC I have all weather settings off. But, reducing the scale to 0.5 doesen't stop the S-Turn issue complete. It is better but not solved. So, I suspressed tubulence in FSUIPC and the problem is gone, but suspressing turbulence in FSUIPC disables all turbulences complete.It likes a off-wind flight. This is not a solution for me. Leave FSX.cfg on 1.0 and reducing "Weak Turbulence" in ASE to 30% solved also the problem, but it also like a wind-off flight. I like turbulences during the flight and suspressing this is not a solution. For information:Suspressing turbulen…

Hiya, Is there any way to shift voicewatch from the primary sound driver over to a secondary driver. I use a USB soundcard for my in the ear ATC - VATSIM and IVAO and the primary for all engine and cockpit related noises. I would love it if I can change voicewatch over to the ATC soundcard, but I can't find any documents or threads that can help me. Is this possible, if so how? Chris

I cannot seem to get the wind or direction to indicate in cockpit (737NGX) until reaching 10000ft. The weather seems to be working, it just will not show up. I am sure I am doing something wrong with settings? Also, it drops off on decent when going below 10000ft? Got to be a setting somewhere....any help will be appreciated! Or is this an NGX issue? I am running ASE SP3 for FS9 using WideFS. When I do a reload AI traffic it seems to decrease the sim time by 10 minutes. Why would refreshing the traffic in ASE touch my FS time?

When running ASE on a client PC, everything starts off okay - I can see my aircraft on the ASE Map View, and weather seems to be injected into FSX without issue.Once ASE and FSX have been running for a few minutes though, some map functions almost grind to a stop. If I try to change the scale for example, by clicking on the + or - buttons, ASE then just hangs with a large egg timer over the map display. The same happens when trying to use the bottom selection boxes, or move the map. It doesn't 'freeze' as such, I can still use most other menu options. The map does eventually rescale some minutes later, but the aircraft has long since left that position.It could just …

(ASA Full install + various updates, then ASE Upgrade and subsequent updates) Is there not just one definitive install version which incorporates everything ?
