Hello all. I have been using ASE for a while now in conjunction with FS9 and it´s been working perfectly. I bought FSX with Acceleraiton pack awhile back and decided to give it a go. For ASE to work with FSX as well as FS9 will I have to uninstall it and reinstall it with both platforms already installed on the system or am I set to go? I ask this because this night I decided to do a completely clean reinstall of FSX since it doesn´t seem to be working so great with the NGX, and I was wondering whether ASE will be able to load weather into it after this reinstall. Thank you in advance for your help

Hello.... I guess that this question goes to Jim, but any help is appreciated. I have been a loyal user of Active Sky for years, and upgraded to ASE about 12 to 18 months ago. Up until now, it worked flawlessly, and I do not fly without it...However, yesterday I began noticing a blue flickering (may not be an accurate description but when looking through the Cockpit glass in precipitation, the screen flashes from blue to normal several times a second.) This may be related to the aircraft (PMDG Beech 1900) or to the specific weather I was in. Yesterday in Utah, and today in Jamaica.... I am unsure. I have not downloaded and installed the new version update that is ann…

If this helps anyone: I had s-turn problems while hand flying my MilViz Cessna 310R with ASE in FSX. I changed my FSUIPC settings to this: http://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/1947-asa-ase-settings-with-fsuipc-and-fsx/ and everything worked well. Thanks to all the developers of ASE for a great product! Mark RitzmanASUS Essentio CM CM5570 Quad Core @ 2.33 GHz, 8 GB of ddr2 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 240, FSX Acceleration

I'm having what looks like a previously reported problem, whereby at altitude, the TAT being picked up by my aircraft swings suddenly from a negative temperature to plus 40 or 50 degrees C. This appears to cause the aircraft to adjust EPR for hot & high conditions with a reduction in available power, which makes it impossible to maintain speed & altitude. The problem usually clears itself eventually but of course the flight is ruined by then. It has happened to me on at least 3 separate flights.I'm using ASA Build 433 with FSX SP2 under Vista 32 bit. FSX is running under FPS Limiter. The specific plane in question is the PMDG MD11, although I see no related post…

Hi there, First time I tried to load the VFR flight-plan generated by PlanG v2.0.5.493 in .PLN format through ASE's Briefing page but upon loading the flight-plan, ASE shows departure and destination airports only, no user waypoints / intersections. Initially, PlanG saved waypoints in this format: <ATCWaypointType>User</ATCWaypointType>. When ASE didn't recognized it, I changed it to <ATCWaypointType>Intersection</ATCWaypointType>. But this didn't help either... Btw, I didn't have this issue with AS6.5. I'm putting the flight-plan below for review and will be grateful for your help! <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><SimBase.Documen…

Hello; With the release of the PMDG NGX, I now have a reason to start using FSX. I have both FS9 and FSX installed and working on the same Windows 7 64 bit machine. I have AS6.5 installed for FS9. I'd like to know the best/correct way to get AS6.5 working for both FS9 and FSX? Thanks. Dave

Hi, I installed Active Sky after long time. I bought my bundle Active Sky X and X Graphics in 2007. I read that I can upgrade to the version of Active Sky Advanced and after next version Active Sky Evolution. I cannot download the update to ASE. Unfortunately, I cannot find the update from the ASX to the ASA. well understand I that I must proceed update version step by step ASX to version ASA and next to version ASE? On your website i cant find update Active Sky Advanced from Active Sky X...only update ASA to ASE. Links from main screen in program Active Sky X do not work. When i click to links, displays webpage that does not exist..I cannot download SP4 for ASX or upgrad…

I am setting up a new computer that is finally able to run FSX with some gusto, however I did now want to transfer AS6.5 from my FS9 machine, so I tried to purchase ASE at your web site. All went well until the final screen when I clicked purchase button. Nothing happened for about 5+ minutes, and I knew better that to click the buy button again, however it finally went to a blank screen with just the words: Processing your order, please wait. After about 45 min. I went back to the home screen and tried to log in with the account info I just created to buy ASE. My old account must have been deleted and had an invalid email address. I emailed Jim at jim(at)hifisim.co…

ASE was a perfect, fully automatic, installation on my wireless networked system.Win7-64 server (FS9.1/FSX-SP2), WinVista-32 workstation (ASE/FSUIPC-Wide). ASE installer found the server and did all the work. All I had to do was to put the path to ASE into the FSUIPC Wide ini file. Then I told FSBuild where ASE was and now flight plans are using weather data. Needless to say, I was very impressed.

Hi, I have problem with ASE and FS9, when I start a fly, it doesnt seem that ASE affects the weather at the starting airport, I've waited for half an hour, and when I check the ASE information for the airport its very different from the one in the sim, especifically for temperature and pressure. This problems disappears when I get to another station, then, the weather gets right. What is the problem? It was working fine, and suddenly this happened, i've not installed or modified anything on my FS9.1. Thx

Hi everybody I've shared the correct folders and got ASE installed and running over WideFS, but cannot install XGauge. I get a message that the installer can't find the FS9 install (which is in it's own root directory on C:\) along with a 'Parameter not valid' message. I point it to the correct network link, but then the Xgauge stops repsonding. Running two Win 7 PCs in the same home network, running / installing as Admin, etc. Like I said, ASE is updating the weather fine, but the Xgauge is showing my location as the last spot I was at before I reinstalled ASE as a WideFS install. Any ideas? Cheers, SLuggy

I've used ASE for a while now (with pretty much the default settings). I just bought X Graphics (I'll just use the default settingsfor that, too for now) and wonder how the two inter-relate. Which do I start first? Both have launch FSX buttons, which one do I use etc. Probably elementary and naive questions, but I'm new at this stuff and couldn't find anything in the X Graphics docs. Thanks.

Hello. I've encountered some difficulties with using Active Sky Evolution (upgrade from ASA), so I completely uninstalled it and ASA, removed all traces of both including registry keys, and decided to start fresh. The plan was to install ASA, the B433 update, the SP1 update, then the ASE B572 upgrade. I was going to hold off on the B642 update for ASE because that's when I originally started running into problems. I reinstalled ASA and when starting it for the first time it accepted my issued license key and passed the online registration. I then closed ASA to install the B433 update. After installation I started ASA again but it checked my license key online registra…

I fly a C172 in r/l and when filing an instrument flight plan, I need to be reasonably accurate with my ETA's at the various fixes.waypoints that comprise the flight plan. To get this accuracy I access winds aloft data, and extract the wind data for the altitude closest to cruise, and use a flight computer to calculate ground speed (which yields time when divided by distance between the waypoints). When we get a flight model as good as the recently released C182T bird, where I can quite accurately get TAS from given power settings, I am now wondering how I would get winds aloft data from ASE- I usually use historical weather as I am loading usually IFR weather at my de…

Hi Folks. A couple of days ago i had everything working fine, but today ASE does not want to run as a window on the desktop. It seems to be running minimised, but i cannot restore it. I have tried various different suggestions from this forum such as uninstall, reinstall, delete the 2 main directories etc. But nothing resolves the problem. ASX, ASA and XGraphics all work fine. I am running Windows 7, and have upgraded from ASA to ASE. I also have ASE SP2 installed. Any ideas or suggestions welcome. Regards.

Hi,How can I keep two separate asv6.ini file for fsx and fs9? I had something working long ago but couldn't find anything here about how to set the asv6.5 shortcut properties' target="c:\...." to make the fsx version read the fsx's .ini file."C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\ASv6\ASv6.exe" is the shortcut target now, if I change it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\ASv6\ASv6.exe asv6.ini then it says thte target is not valid, make path and file are correct. Also, when starting up the program, get this message saying something about updating the wxstationlist.bin, how do I get rid of this? Thanks,Pat

ASE is installed on my FSX computer because I originally believed it has to be there. Will it work just as well on a network PC using WideFS? Will a move help frame rates?Am I allowed to move ASE from FSX to network PC?I presently use the network PC for Electronic Flight Bag display, Plan-g, etc. and it works very well. Here is the setup; FSX PC has 3 monitors using Radeon "eyefinity". Network PC has separate monitor. Thanks for any help.Neal H

Hi Everyone After generating my weather using ASE build 642 i appear to be lacking in contrails after I have reached my cruising altitude, which is normally between 25k and 30k, the aircraft I generally fly is a 737 or some similar type jet, the temperature according to my gauges is roundabout -30/-35. What are the deciding factors that generally make contrails appear? Thanks Shaun
