Hey, anyone else noticed that in FS9 the clouds from ASE are now going all the way to the ground to the point it looks like the ground is actually cutting the clouds in half? I don't remember ever seeing my clouds going through the ground in a previous release and I have seen it into every flight I have taken since...Any suggestions? Am I the only one seeing this?-P

Just got an error mid session about 300 stations being suppressed because of a time/date error and that I should check my clock. My clock is accurate... I said OK and ASE said the message would be suppressed for the remainder of this session but I have never seen that one before...-Paul

Hello,Just been flying with ASE and noticed that I could not get any weather for the any airports or stations for any report time after 1700z, this was at 2030z. I am still flying, and I tried to tick the "VATSIM Online Weather" checkbox, and suddenly got up to date 2000z weather. I once again tried it without the VATSIM weather ticked, and out of date weather appeared once again.I presume that Hi-Fi are experiencing server issues?Thanks,Jack

Cant figure out which is which - looking at the Report page at this moment for LOWW the temps are given as 9.0 and 3.0, and on the Briefing page it is 8.0.First off, which is F and which is C on the Report page - and what is it on the Briefing page - F or C?Sorry - I should know stuff like this but dont.

Jim: I am having a problem in flight where the winds shift back to the same as the origination airport a bunch of times during every flight at any altitude, I generally fly from FL330 to FL430. When this happens my speed oscilates up and down constantly and sometimes overspeeds. This will go on for about 3-7 minutes and then the winds will suddenly go back to normal. What is odd is I can be right next to a weather station when this happens. At times it seems as if it happens mostly when flying over mountains. It gets really anoying. Like the title says... I'm getting frequent CTDs immedately on launching FSX whenever DWC or cloud smoothing are selected in ASE with Build 642. On some occasions, the FSX launch screen just disappears. On others, I get to the Free Flight screen but it's shifted to the bottom right side of the screen and is only partly visible (I noticed a similar problem when I was using Winch X - it vanished as soon as I removed Winch X from my system). hi, i have been using asv6.5 for a while now and have really enjoyed using it along with fs9. i have upgraded to fsx and thought its about time i upgraded to ase, does this now have its own weather engine or will ase use the weather engine in fsx.

Hi,I'm having some troubles with the temperature displayed on the TAT indicator, when climbing and level on cruise it seems that displayed temperature is higher and does not match the standard rate, for example at ground the TAT shows 10ºC or 13ºC and flying at 6500 or 7500 feet it shows 15ºC or 17ºC.I tested without ASE usuing FSX weather engine and this does not happen, I have not tried higher altitudes yet because most of the times I fly small GA airplanes.ASE build is 642, smooth cloud transition weather depiction, with most of the settings default and using latest FSUIPC for wind smoothing purposes.Could someone tell me if this has been experienced or give me a hint …

Jim,I am not able to get a briefing on the following route: FAJS EXOBI WIV G465 KAT ESPAP PPB DWI R468 BKK A202 SIKOU VHHH. The altitude is FL370 and TAS is 480. The 34 waypoints show up, but that's it. It is a good route since it does not show any errors in PMDG or FSBuild. The route shows on the map. I get this message "Please try again in a moment. Briefing wx process unable to complete due to incomplete weather synthesis...."I have flown this route several times in both direction and the winds/weather appear to be working correctly. B629 is, IMO, the best update so far to ASE as far as accuracy of depicted wx. But I am experiencing one minor annoyance.About every 10 minutes or so, when flying at high altitudes (FL 180 and above), I see rapidly flashing light, which covers the entire observable sky. This lasts for about 45 sec. to one minute, then stops. Then 10-12 minutes or so later, this flashing repeats. I don't notice this when flying below, say 10,000 feet. I have my wx updates set to every 10 minutes, in ASE. However, I can't say for certain that there is a connection between the wx updates and the flashing.Anyone else observe this?Bob

I am hoping that someone can help me in resolving an issue that I have been noticing in terms of visibility on the ground. I am not sure if it is an ASE issue, but somehow I think that it is related. I am running ASE with a registered version of FSUIPC with FSX and most sliders open widely as I have a very updated and powerful computer.The issue is very noticable from the spot view, but somewhat also from the sides of Virtual Cockpit view. I tried using 642 with FS9 but every few minutes it clears all the weather, then starts a new download. When it finishes I get the "initial weather depiction complete" message. After trying several flights I have gone back to 586 and it works no problem (as it did before).Brad

Hi,I applied ASE SP2 when it was released a couple of weeks back. Ever since then I have found that the ATIS reports for destination airports is incorrect. For example today when arriving at EGKK I called for ATIS during the descent the weather was reported as 280/26 SCT 4600 temps -49 and pressure 994. I immediately checked the weather in ASE and it showed as 080/3 SCT2300 temps -3 and pressure 994. This was about 60 miles out from the airfield. I am using RC4 and have got DWC switched on. FSUIPC weather settings is off. Any ideas?ThanksJonathan

Hello HiFi Simulation,I flew into WSSS (Singapore) recently and the airfield wind was VRB at 5 knots. On approach the wind indicator on the ND was spinning in circles, this was causing problems with the approach as the autothrottle was going all over the place and speed could not be attained.Is this an issue with varible wind forecasts with ASE? I have the latest SPs.Thanks

Hi everyoneI thought I'd replace my trusty ole AS6.5 with the latest and greatest ASE edition, and whilst I've found plenty of guides on how to set up FSX with ASE, there's not too much for FS9.I've followed the instructions (shame on me! :( ), and whilst the weather supplied looks great (with REX snapshots) I'm having a few dramas that I never had with AS6.5.Flying heavy iron at FL300+ I get nasty weather transisions that seem to 'flip-flop' for a couple of cycles, ie the clouds disappear and reappear quickly, the baro pressure jumps up and down, and using the map I might be in heavy cloud but the map shows clear. Hi all,I have FS9 and ASv6.5 (on a second computer wideFS connected) and would like to purchase ASE, but first of all I would like to have a clear description of the interaction with REX (that I purchased short time ago...).Mainly, what should I do before flying? I mean, up to now I have loaded a theme within REX, saved it in FS once for ever and before flying I just start ASv6.5 and FS9. Nothing else. Now what should I do? I'm using Activesky 6.5 and GEPro. I have AS setup to start GE Pro. I'm I correct in that if I have ForceSky to asg in the option menu of Activesky and then it starts GEPro that FS2004 will use Activesky sky textures and GEPro ground Textures? Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help.
