Jim or Damian,I would like to refer you to a discussion and my analysis over in the Radar Contact forum - regarding the new functionality of getting RC to use ASE weather - it takes too long to parse and is cuasing RC voice resonse delays in the critical approach and landing phases of the flight. HI,I am not happy.Since I updated to SP2 , my weather depiction is totally wrong. It may be a concidence or I may have forgotten an important setting.I wanted to attach a screenshot but is seems to be down (two attachement windows)!!METAR is 6 SM SN BR SCT 008 and I have clear skies!!! 4NM from KPSC station time 17.46, last update 17.25 (was wrong all the time )settings GMT force to real time Please help.Thank you very much.

You talking about when I am on one side of the runway and its clear does ASE show that the station is showing no precip/snow, then when I am on the other side of the runway and its snowing then ASE is then reporting snow? I'm frustrated with ASE. I have had Active Sky and ASE for some time. I downloaded SP2 last week. Last night I am on takeoff roll from 9R using Sunskyjet KPHL. Weather is correct, cloudy, overcast and rain. Halfway thru the takeoff roll It goes right to clear no rain and no clouds. Then after takeoff about 3 miles from the end of the runway the weather goes back to clouds and rain. What is the problem? What can be done to fix it?

Hello all,After the server issue yesterday, I installed SP2. Now, the depiction doesn't work correctly. I always launch ASE before FSX, so it can load properly, but today stuff doesn't work as it should. I shut down ASe inflight, as it didn't depict the weather properly. Hi Jim, Hope all is well with you...I often get an error message when AS6.5 tries to download current weather "download failed or canceled" - it keeps retrying every 10 seconds or so but it can go on for my whole flight.But I don't think that this is a problem with my setup as I have the AS weather engine as an allowed programme in Windows 7 firewall, and (moreover) more than half the time the data downloads just fine, (I can see the 400kb or so progress bar in the AS main window). Is there a known problem with the server - or else why would I get this problem some of the time and not others?Thanks,Martin

I looked over the fixed items list and didn't see a comment about destination winds specifically. Has this been fixed in the update, and if so what mode within ASE should I select?

Since Sp2 I've noticed that ASE is overriding the upper vis set by FSUIPC and it's actually causing a much lower visibility at altitude so I'm flying in a bit of soup. I've tried both with and without the 'enable vis graduation and smoothing' option checked, as well as setting the ASE max and min vis limits to 200SM. Nothing gets rid of the low visability other than to close ASE and use FSUIPC to clear weather, which then re-instates my FSUIPC limits. Note we're not talking about zero vis at altitude, rather about 5-10SM less than I have set in FSUIPC.I don't actually want to use the ASE smoothing/graduation as I have them fine tuned to my liking through FSUIPC, and infa…

hi,ASE is great :( except that it has a major defect which can ruin the immersion dramatically. :( Clouds intersect with terrain REX has the same issue, by the way (I have AS 6.5, REX and ASE)I don't understand why it is not possible to fix this issue. Metars give cloud height and the airport altitude is available in FSX. It should be possible not to display clouds below nearest airport elevation + cloud height. I would like to have an option which allows a minimum cloud display altitude. Not realistic? not worse than the current state.Thank you for you help

I've recently bought the ASE and in the mid-flight i dun noe why the weather changes suddenly. For example first there was some clouds and a bit foggy and later the clouds and fog suddenly disappear. After 10 or 20 minutes it suddenly appear back again. It's unreal. Hello,Im having problem with using together ASE SP2 and Qualitywings 757 SP2.Example: I departed today from GCTS and wind was constant all the time - 269/12 - even on FL350. I reseted ASE and everything looked fine (wind changed to 270/102) but during descend wind blocked on value 250/52 till landing - even on the ground.Problem exist most with ASE SP2 in every weather mode. Without SP2 it works much better.Sorry for my English. Chris

I'm still running build 586 - I was wondering if someone could briefly summarize the pros and cons of the three new weather modes in SP2? (Or point me to the information, if someone already posted it).

Jim,I'm still using B611 and with no problems so far with the winds aloft after about 30 hours of testing. I don't know about the haze and other problems that have been reported related to visibility since 95% of my flying is at night. Let me know when you think I need to go to the next build (if ever). Everything is set to default except DWC is checked and FSUIPC (registered) is off.The winds aloft are performing like I had hoped and the clouds/visibility are close enough.Bill Bridges

Using WIDEFS the weather is slow to update and when eventually it does appear the weather then clears again and I am back to no weather. All was fine up to this latest update..UNINSTALL yet againUPDATE - I have reinstalled and back to Build 586 and that works fine. Any version after that for me does not work properly.CheersKeith

I know ASE does not have a specific option for TAF Processing like AS6.5 did, at least not one that I see, but does ASE have a Dynamic TAF Effect/Element in the background to simulate weather in the future using TAF reports? If so, what is the best ASE option set up to get this effect? I normally leave it on "force Sim time" but it seems to always use the current METAR even if my sim time is set ahead of real world time. Should this remain checked or should I uncheck both "force sim time" and "force real time"? I am using the B586 version of ASE.Thanks
