Hello,after updating to Build 640, the time changes for about ten minutes, when I click the buttom "Refresh AI Aircraft".It is not a big issue, as I can set the time ten minutes later when starting FS9.1, but I thought it is worth to mention.My best wishesHans-Christian

I just installed FSUIPC 4634 and Wideclient 6833. I also installed ASE Service Pack 2 (B640).When I load my last flight created before these last upgrades I find the sky with a layer of clouds. Then I start ASE. I get the information on the FSX screen that ASE downloads the new weather, it also say that the weather update for 319 sations is done. My plane sitting at KBOS (today bad weather) should be in a cloudy weather but after ASE updated the weather I have a blue sky. Can anybody help me ?

Hi, During christmas I'm going to make a reinstallation of windows 7, programs and FS9. I'd like to know if I have to install all the updates available on the hifisim website? Currently there is: In-Progress Beta (B640)Interim Update 1B (B586) Service Pack 1 Official (B572) Do I have to install all of these over my ASE installation, or does the latest build contain previous updates as well?

Had some time to do a bunch of flights with Build 640 now in different areas with different weather.DWC ON, force dest ON, vis altitude set to 12000ft, registered FSUIPC with wind smoothing and turb inhibit ON, FSX with med-high settings, WinXP, dual core intel, nvidia7800...nothing has changed except the version, I keep all options the same.- through climb and descent, wind shifts quite sharply causing some yaw motions, settles down at cruise.- clouds appear then vanish moments later through climb and descent...until at cruise then things settle down. I think one of the age old problems of FS weather is the way it deals with visibility. If an airports METAR shows say 1 mile on the ground, whilst descending into it you will still be able to see the ground and the airport itself until you reach the top of the layer. At this point obviously the vis starts to graduate down. It's hugely unrealistic to be able to see the ground in such circumstances, then to have it suddenly disappear as you enter the viz layer. ASE deals with this reasonably well when there is fog reported in the METAR by using clouds to represent the visibility layer, so you can't see the ground from altitude (although doesn't always seem to work!) HiI've just purchased ASE. I installed x gauge only to find out that the FSUIPC menu had disappeared from the add on tab in the FSX menu bar. Imagine how scared I was :( . After a few minutes of panic I decided to unisnstall X gauge and hopefully my panels were restored to their original state. So now I am afraid of messing up my panels again. I just want to add the X gauge menu without changing any existing feature. What should I do? I don't remember changing anything in the default installation options. I am now waiting for a piece of advice before installing x gauge again.Thank you.

Perhaps this has been addressed before but I could not find any info. Has there ever been suggestion or way to impliment call up of Xgauge without having to go to FSX menu in Instrument views. I would really like to click an "icon" button displayed on panel to call up the Xgauge panel.Thanks

I had been using release 572, and I decided to try the latest beta to see what was different. After installing B640 over the existing installation, I thought I was seeing some winds aloft anomalies so I decided to switch back to 572. I uninstalled from the control panel, and deleted the remaining folders in program files. After reinstalling ASE 572, it fails to start. The box asking what version of FS I want to select appears, but the program hangs for a few seconds then crashes. Hi,Been a while since I have posted in this forum.A few weeks ago I was performing a defrag on my client PC where ASE is installed and used REx to provide weather during a flight.I installed a graphics snapshot, completed my flight then went back to ASE the following day after the defrag was complete.Since then I have not been able to set Barometric pressure using the B key and I no longer have any wind generation in FSX.Are there any files on the server (FSX) computer that could have been overwritten? FSX SP2ASE B640FSUIPC4 registeredI had sent HiFi an email on this recently when using B638. I was hoping that B640 would cure the problem but, alas it didn't. Specifically, approximately2/3 or more into my flight, I lose all the wx. The winds aloft become calm and any clouds in the area disappear. This despite the local METAR stating clouds, and winds aloft at my altitude, are present. This happened today on a flight to KJAC and previously on another flight the other day. I did find a "solution" for this, which is to shut down ASE, and then reload it. This immediately restores the correct wx back into FSX. Could you please help me?? ASE seems to have stopped working in FS9, but works OK in FSX. Weather updates are not coming in,although at startup the FS9 box was checked. Hi Jim,just a query.I fly every week to and from work in a Fokker 100.Now the place i work, the OAT in summer months varies between 40 and 50 degrees celsius CAVOK, so you can imagine some of the rollercoaster rides we get at times.Yet when i fly into these sites on flightsim using ASE, smooth as a babies butt.With ASE or Flightsim for that matter , does the temperature have any effect on turbulence or is that something thats not possible to code?Thanks,Andy

I have been useing ASE for quite some time and it has been a while since I cranked up ASA. I have enjoyed ASE very much (as I did ASA) with no known problems until I just had a unique one. Hi,I'm having an issue with the weather. And I'm not sure if this has got something to do with ASE (in FSX) or some other setting in FSX or FSUIPC itself. Anyway, here's my problem:I'm using ASE in FSX together with FSUIPC 4 and the Autosave feature which is integrated in FSUIPC 4. Every 20 minutes, Autosave creates a backup file together with a .WX file.Whenever I shut down ASE after my flight, restart FSX, and I want to load an Autosave-file from the "Load flight" menu option (without starting ASE), it appears that when the flight is loaded from this file, the weather has been cleared (i.e. there are no clouds in the sky. I am likely misunderstanding how ASE works but here is what I see at CYUL (Montreal)...On approach to CYUL (DEST airport, lock to DEST = Y, flight plan entered) about 10-15 miles from runway, I checked the ASE report page, the reported weather 'lock to closest' field is changing every 1 or 2 seconds between CYUL and CYWU (CYWU or something like that...another station interpolating). CYUL is a reporting station AFAIK, yet it is picking up / conflicting with another station 'advanced interpolation' when in the immediate vicinity of CYUL. Fired up ASE today for my flight from KMEM to KONT and have never seen Overcast depicted so well, Im using the latest Beta and DWC(have had some depiction problems as of late) last night I DL the latest beta fsuipc(4633) and widefs (I run ASE over a network) I even added the UseASEweather=Yes to my fsuipc ini( even though Im not sure if I had to) Im using RC4 everything was spot on in the ATIS and the winds and baro were exact in what ASE was reporting and what fsx was showing. Anyways I hope this is not just a chance encounter because this is the sweetest my weather has ever looked.

Hi Jim.As much as I love ASE, this program sometimes causes me a lot of headaches, most likely because I either don't understand how it works or how to use it properly to get the desired results, even having read the PDF a few times. JimI like the changes imnplemented to DWC - in particular, the new visibility graduation which smooths between what the metar reports as the base visibility layer and the selectable upper altitiude in the ASE options dialog box. Just a quickie question...Looking through the manual, a bit confused (then again, I'm not exactly fully awake right now)... If I choose to force it to the sim time and go flying in FS on a previous date/time, will ASE automatically give me the weather from that date/time? Or do I need to do that in combination with the historical weather page?
