I had ASX installed on C Drive. FSX is on F Drive in Program Files>Microsoft Games>Microsoft Flight Simulator X . I decided to move ASX to F Drive so I uninstalled and then reinstalled ASX on F Drive. The default path the installer was going to use was C:\Program Files(X86) so I changed it to F:\ . Was that correct or should I have I also specified Program Files?Thank youMichael Cubine

I downloaded build 638 last week, I notice build 633 is now the latest. Is it ok to install 633 over 638 or do I need to do a complete un/re-install of ASE? I assume it is just the executable that is being replace with each build? Thanks,Rob.

Could someone explain to me the purpose of the "Use Local Range Suppression" checkbox option and the "Suppression Ceiling ft(MSL) feature in the General Options Tab? I'm using FSX SP2 with the registered version of FSUIPC. Thanks.Bob

I have been test flying the new B629 for the past several days - (though I see that it has now advanced to B638).90% of my simulated flying is at or above FL310, so I was anxious to try the new DWC option, as I value accurate and stable winds and temps at high altitudes above all else, and I noted that the new DWC was optimized for this very kind of flying. As far as the accuracy and stability of the upper winds, I can only say "Bravo!" - Without question, you seem to have nailed this - the upper winds performance is now the best I have experienced in any HiFiSim product, and I have used every release going back to AS 6.5.I flew a couple of legs of the recently-completed W…

Hi GuysGot a bit of a problem with ASE. I've just built a nice new i7 machine to run FSX on which is running W7 64bit.. I have ASE installed on my client machine which is running XP 32bit. To get both machine to talk to each other I've had to create a log in on my XP machine. Now when I try to open ASE it's asking me for a licence number, I guess because it thinks I'm a different user.. although I still have my licence DLL in the HiFi folderIs there a work around for this?RegardsSteve

Just started getting this error a few days ago when I attempt to use the Historical weather download function. It says I have the wrong system time set, but as you can see my system time is set correctly. (US Eastern time). Realtime weather seems ok! Any help would be appreciated. I'm running ASE build 572.

After several days of testing with ASE I know what the S-turns will look like and when they will occur on my system. It is not because of the autopilot. The S-turns will occur every time the Shift-Z ("Z") and the winds shown on the MAP/FMC ("FMC") disagree. As long as the wind shift is the same in Z and FMC there are not any S-turns. For example if Z shows winds of 270/30 and FMC shows winds of 180/20 the S-turns will start. It seems that once Z and FMC get out of sync, only clearing the weather with FSUIPC will stop them. I am not sure what the correlation between Z and FMC is, maybe Jim has an insight? I have flown three flight totaling 25 hours in real time using…

Over at the ASE forum webpage, a poster indicated that he had a problem with RC4 and ASE "B927". I just downloaded, and installed, B629? Is therea build 927 or was that a typo? Thanks.Bob

I am tryin to set up ASE in a networked configuration using two PC's both are Win7 64bit machines. I am following the instructions provided in the ASE manual for this and I have gotten to page 53 Step2: Configuring the server. It says that I must configure two files on the Server machine SimConnect.XML and SimConnect.ini moreover, it tells where they go. My question is that when I go to those locations neither file is there? In the instructions underneath where the paths are explained it says that there are example files located in your FSX SDK installation folder and we suggest coppying these files to the appropriate locations and then modify as follows. I am assumi…

Hi guys,it happened yesterday and today again, when I start ASE it says it's not activated. The activation works fine, but I wonder why? I installed Squawkbox 4 recently which reinstalled the simconnect client. I run ASE on a secondary PC. Can that be issue? How can I solve it? I won't be able to activate ASE again after a short while this way.ThanksFedeP.S. Running build 572.

Build 629 Starts off great but then all my clouds disappear, Im using DWC, force destination weather and Dynamic rate set to 0 and have had it to 30 aswell, here is the situation I started my flight at CYVR ASE loaded the weather perfectly, rain, wind and overcast, but after 5 minutes or so pretty much all the clouds disappeared and it was a bright sunny day, the wind was still correct and it was even raining still aswell, I tested this several times, the same result, starts perfect then clears up in about 5 mins, here is a pic and the departure weatherDeparture (CYVR): CYVR 261900Z 08010KT 8SM -RA FEW008 OVC021 08/08 A2989 RMK SF2SC6 VIS LWR NECYVR 261738Z 2618/2724 090…

ASE acts very differently now with the latest beta 625. Before I would start ASE, wait until it was done, then load FSX (w Acceleration, win 7 64bit) and after selecting my aircraft the weather would change from clear skies to user defined automatically. Now that doesn't happen anymore. And sometimes after closing FSX I notice that ASE is also mysteriously closed, or messages about fsx connection not found. I have fsx and ase installed in c:\games and ran all as administrator

Seems to be an ongoing issue with visibilty / haze effect which has not noticeably improved with beta629.As I climb or descend, the haze effect/visiblity comes and goes abruptly at various altitudes. At cruise, the haze effect is visible most of the time below me, usually when there is cloud around, even though the cloud is often 10,000+ ft below me. It's been like that since I got ASE. It's not a big deal for me, but is a little annoying.I have disable FSX haze = Y, graduated vis = Y, DWC is ON (since I bought ASE months ago, I have always had it set this way as I typically fly big jets, high altitude), using build 629. I noticed with build 629, there is a new window…

Ok,I thought I resolved this issue but it is back. Everytime I run ASE I get this message and it crashes. I have disabled AVG, and firewall. I set FSUIPC (the latest registered) to "weather settings off". Everything in FS9 is configured per ASE manual. Any ideas what is causing this. I would like to run ASE but always have to revert back to ASV6.5. Win XP ProFS9.1AMD Phenom II X2 555 BENvidia 9800 GT3328MB Ram

I have just started using this beta, in standard mode with FSUIPC controlling wind/baro/temp smoothing. I have noticed that FSX stutters slightly and the image flashes during what appears to be new weather being updated into FSX. Is this normal and to be expected in the final build, or will it be smoothed out? It's not a game stopper, but annoying to see. However, if its part of a compromise to improve aloft winds/visual weather depiction, I can accept it.Ideally, if weather update supression works at preventing wx being injected during the takeoff phase (anytime below the supression altitude) and during the descent phase (80 miles from destination with Force Destina…

I can't seem to change the title in my post as I meant to say 'REX' and not 'FEX'. Anyway, I'm using ASX (FSX), and want to know if REX will work with it? I've read on another forum that REX works well with ASE so I'm hoping that it shouldn't be any problems when using it with ASX.Thanks.

In the FS9 mode of ASE, I still have the constant ground haze at FL 250 for example. I have the latest version that was supposed to have corrected this FS9 issue. Any suggestions? Halfway through my flight, I ended ASE and fired up AS 6.5, which gave me clear ground terrain for the rest of the flight. Is the FS9 mode in ASE still broken?!?

Greetings,I was wondering of anyone uses the WX CONFIG option in ASE and FS9 with any success? Whenever I try and set cloud minimums it's always 1500+ feet higher than I asked. As an example, the min at KGEG is 2542. I set a cloud layer in WX CONFIG for 2600 feet. However, what gets set in FS9 is 5000 feet.To test this I set a cloud layer at 100 feet, and now FS9 reports a layer at 2500 feet. Any idea why this would happen?

Jim, maybe you can shed some light on this, because I don't get it:Transatlantic flight, in-bound North America , just off the Canadian coast, station CWCA reporting FL340 winds 254@46, temp -58,4C. FSX reporting FL340, winds 277@46, TAT -29CAnd this is just one of the fixed stations that doesn't match the actual vs the reported weather. Why the discrepancy?Menno

What is the offline mean valid time supposed to be? There has always been some discrepancy between downloaded GMT time and that offline mean valid time, but the current difference I'm getting has finally made me wanna ask.As you can see, I wanted to download weather for 14 October, 19 GMT.First, I'm slightly confused about 0:00:00 (19Z), what is the 0:00:00 for?Second, why would it later say 14/10/2010 12:00:00? 12:29:46:0530 - Downloading global weather data for 14/10/2010 0:00:00 (19Z) from Primary Server...12:29:46:0546 - Generating Machine Code .....12:29:48:0121 - Generated Machine Code .....12:30:06:0077 - Start Download Content License Result Check12:30:06:0077 - …

I've just completed my first flight into Houston using the ASE beta build 625.I've changed the weather back to standard from DWC, but on arrival at KIAH, the wind was about 90 degrees off what it should have been. The ASE report had winds 220/4. The Active Sky ATIS (122.02) gave winds at 217/4. Yet the FSX ATIS gave 128/4. And the actual wind on landing was indeed 128/4.I follow the following procedure at startup:1. Load FSX and load my saved fight.2. Set time and date to my requirment.3. Start ASE, and ensure 'Lock to Sim' is ticked. 4. Once weather has all loaded, load flight plan in briefing page.5. Select 'Refresh AI' on the report page. There were no problems with depa…
