Hi Damian! I had tried SP3 when it first was released but without knowing how to properly set it up. I was thoroughly disgusted with the stutters and constant fsx wx updates that were occuring at critical times and would bring my equipment almost to a halt. I tried to get answers from Jim Skorna but his answers were more double-talk than informative. I continued to randomly experiment with different options with no luck and finally Jim informed me that if I wanted accurate weather I would just have to put up with the stuttering because it was a simconnect/FSX issue. hi guys, hope y'all are enjoying your flights cuz i know i am. i was wondering if y'all can help me understand how i can make ASE ans REX 2.0 work together on FSX. i'm a little confuse on how to set-up the weather textures. but what i did, perhaps y'all can tell me what i can do better. under REX 2.0 in the theme creations, i've selected reality where it says select a theme to install. after choosing this theme, i saved it and installed it fsx next i start up ASE, insert my flightplan from FSX and then it asks if i want to install snapshot in which i click cancel cuz i don't know what to do in that. within ASE, i launch FSX, while sitting at the gate ASE is uploading and …

hello FS fans and ASE people.When landing in the rain it would be nice to have a more limited view in ase. Can this be done?In a real aircraft the view is very limited when in a rain spell. In FSX even with ASE the view is hardly limited ever. This would be a nice feature to have in ASE I think. An automatic fog layer prortraiing rain.

Alrighty, I have been doing many experiments of late to see if I can't solve much of what I perceive to be issues on my own, but there are still some things I'm seeing that seem to go against both the setup I have and what the manual is telling me I should have. This has to do with the WX Config function. It's simple really. I go online and copy a METAR that I want to use. I open ASE (after FSX is open and ready, otherwise I get a crash of ASE when I hit the "Apply Weather" button), and paste the METAR in the METAR (Editable) window. Hi, Hope someone can help - I have REX 2 and ASE iin FSX SP2. When ASE weather engine is loaded the REX 3D cloud textures go and I'm left with the standard FSX cloud textures. If I close ASE and select a weather theme from FSX then 3D clouds load fine and look great!Issue remains regardless of what sequence I load FSX and ASE. Any ideas?Many thanks.

Bonjour, Running active sky evolution on FS9 (on windows XP) the performance is greatly decreased. I personally feel (could be wrong) that it is conflicting with something maybe an old FSUIPC which inturn is greatly decreasing the Frame Rate. Any ideas? Merci,James Andrews

Hi.I have managed, with the help of a friend, to install simconnect so that I can run ASX on my "Client" Laptop and FSX on the "Server" PC. However, ASX will not generate weather. Also, the AI Traffic tester does not work. The tester does work on the server. The Server's IP address is correct in CFG and XML. New user and have a issue. I tried the DWC option and found the weather did not match the metar in FSX at the destination airport or enroute. (CYYC - CYVR). Runways were also unpredictable. So I switched to standard mode and while I like the weather depicted, and the runways being more predictable, the constant updating and stutters is a show stopper. Even with auto updates set at 30 minutes, it seemed every 10 minutes it was updating. Is this normal? Hello. I wonder if someone here can help me. I'm using ASE build 647 over a network and my ai aircraft at the destination airport are still using the wrong runways. I have Force Destination Weather Zone and Force ATC wind Lock both checked. I was under the assumption that Force ATC Wind Lock was supposed to cure this problem. I am submiting a flight plan to ASE. I have Active sky running in FSX and have noticed that the 'upper' sky colour darkens above an arc stretching almost across the whole screen. I believe that this cannot be corrected ? Thank youDon

Hi there. I'm using FSX, the latest build of ASE, FSX Standard Depiction Mode, and Automatic Downloads every 30 mins. I have Use Local Range Suppression and Suppress on Ground checked, the suppression ceiling is set to 10,000 ft, and the Local Suppression Range is 100nm. The problem is that I still sometimes get weather updates below 10,000 ft, and the weather updates on the ground, which creates the stuttering effect at the worst times, i.e. when departing, landing, or taxiing. This has been the case with all builds of ASE. Any idea what the problem might be? Thanks a lot. David Midgett

Hi, I am ruinning FSX alonf with REX 2.0, GEX and Ultimate Terrain. Can I install ASE along with this setup or would I have to uninstall REX 2.0? The two programs seem very similar but ASE seems tp provide a more realistic cloud and weather generator. Do I require FSUIPC or SIMCONNECT if I install ASE? If so, where can I d/l (purchase) a current version of SIMCONNECT? Thanks for your help. Phil

Hey all.... If suddenly encountered a strange glitch... When I hit F12 (top down view), and pull back all the way, I find that the entire earth is blanketed with a light/dark blue haze. I've tried to fix this by messing around with the visibility settings in ASE, but to no avail. I've also tried starting FSX without ASE running, and the problem is still there. Anyone have any ideas? I recently purchased ASE, which I am currently using with FSX. I fly online on IVAO and have the weather from IVAP removed. The uppuer wind is all the time fluctuating very very abruptly which is making the flight un flyable. I never had this problem with IVAO weather engine, can anyone shed a light how I can fix this? As it getting frustrating.

I'm a little confused on this setting. when I set for WX influenced, do I changed each of the categories or only the "sky theme"? Also, do I have to set this each time before I fly or just do it once and then it remembers? Thanks

Hi, I purchased Active Sky 6.5 a while ago from Sim Market (ORDER Number: [Removed for privacy]). I finally got fs2004 up and running on my windows 7 64 machine and I can not seem to run Active Sky as it says it is unregistered (of course, it's a new PC). My e-mail from Sim Market from when I purchased the product has a link to a page that is supposed to have all my details but I can't seem to access that page. So I guess I have two questions, First, does AS 6.5 even work with W7 and if not, is there a free upgrade to a version that will. I am not looking to use this with my FSX install, just FS2004 as I always did previously. Thank you,LouP
