DamianI'm sure you're pretty busy. I've been trying to keep up with the NOAA servers since wxRE uses NOAA weather as it's source. I'm not happy with it. So, I brought this topic up to Jim regarding changing the METAR source within wxRE an paying for it. He said to talk to you.If it's possible. I'm willing to pay for it, Name the reasonable price. Is it possible to change the wxRE Weather Source to: http://adds.aviationweather.noaa.gov/metars/It's more consistent on weather updates an very dependable.As of now, I sometimes fly wxRE with 2 4 6 hours of old weather since the weather is from NOAA.Thanks, Mike

I have uninstalled ASV after attempting to start it several times and getting a message and icon showing that windows needed to configure something. This is all after the program worked flawlessly. Now Im trying to reinstall, but to no avail. Im clicking on "ASV upgrade", but it's trying to give options to uninstall, modify, or etc....This started happening after downloading the new Flight1 installer/downloader for the new B200 Xtreme for it's upgrade yesterday.Any help is appreciated,Eric

Hi all,The server is up and running..I apologize for my absence over the past 3 days, my newborn son was in the hospital but he is ok now, we are back at home. Unfortunately cell phones aren't allowed in the hospital so nobody was able to get ahold of me.We suffered a pretty large-scale attack (coordinated from different locations) on both of our redundant servers on the 20th. This continued until just a few hours ago when I manually pulled the plug, and identified/blocked the offending nodes. Sorry if this has been addressed before.I know I've asked this before, but having used the old version I had the out of memory error and solved it by switching the clouds to DXT's.Since installing the new version I got the error again. I haven't switched the could sets as of yet.I'm using an ATI card. Is there anyone else having this problem?Thanks.

I have not bought the registered version but saw an option on another forum here to extend the graduated visibility up to only a certain altitude in the registered version.ASV apparently cannot do this extending it upward indefinitely.Would this option solve the issue of getting a more realistic haze layer with the disable FS haze layer option on?The issue for me is getting above the haze layer without the ring of haze.Does modifying the setting of the registered version even work with ASV 5?Greg

I have been trying this out this afternoon.I am categorically not stating that the Soft Horizon files are causing this for the simple reason I don't know if it's the cause myself - and in fact they make the horizon look absolutely fantastic -but has anyone else been getting CTD in conjunction with ASV and Soft Horizon?

OK I did a silly thing - after installing the ASV update version I got rid of all previous AS versions to create more disk space. Now when I try to open ASV I get the following error message..... "Failed to load control "ChilkatZip' from ChilkatZip.dll. Your version of ChilkatZip.dll may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application"I can not now reinstall the update as it will look for the missing AS2004.5 - tried to use system restore but to no avail - please help!Thanks

Gents,I have been a faithful user of AS2004 eversince it started its development phase. I was a beta team member for the initial release and found it beautiful to see my longtime weather depiction wishes come into fruition.There was not a single aspect of this very good program I could complain about.Continous updates have made it even better every time.Then came long awaited ASV.I was very hopeful to see this software to be again a major step forward and despite being extremaly happy with previous version I took the upgrade plunge.The primary reason for that was the vertical air simulation which was the majot lacking item on my wishlist till far.It delivered it, however …

I Just recently became an AS user having previously used FSMeteo. I'm very happy with the switch especially with the ability to check weather before loading Flight Sim.I am confused by discussions about multiple service releases. I downloaded on 14 July and got Build 314. Hello.I have installed ASV5.I have some questions regarding the Active Environment.I really liked the looks of the default clouds for 2004.I have been trying hard to get a closer look of clouds in AE but they don't seem to be looking that good for me.I have selected these :11 wispy,wispy,wispy moderate.They seemed to have the closest look of the default clouds to me.I check them in the sim. by selecting fair weather.Can you tell me the settings for getting the closest look of the default clouds.I have 256x256 with mips enabled.Thanks in advance.

I have flown into 2 hurricanes Dennis and Emily and my wind speed has never exceeded 45 kts. Is this a AVS problem or FS problem. I am using FS9 and AVS 5.0. Thnaks for any help

Gentlemen,I have upgraded from AS2004,5 to ASV primarily for the vertical currents.I started playing with the additional textures, however frankly speaking they are not as nice as the old set I used to have and was happy with.I was using HiFPCv2 cloud textures mainly for the performance reasons as well as its look.Please direct me to the same cloud textures withing the ASV interface, so I can set them permanently.Thank you very much,Dom
