Hello ASV team, yesterday and after many post into the PMDG 747 forum... By myself requesting support just for a "possible" bug with the A/T of this aircraft. at the end wasn't an issue.I did a trip just from LFPG-FAJS 3 times... just trying to find why the cruise altitude (FL320 for example) TAT reached registered temp numbers about -1, +1, +4 (maximum reaching -9) and still the same all the time. I have ASV (latest build too) with all options optimized and fsuipc the minimum required settings just for using ActiveSky, but would be so nice if you could check the processing code or any other ASV software parameters, the strange of all this is that only happening flying ov…

I have never used a weather program before but after seeing it in action on a few videos i was thinking about it. I just want to know is it worth it i mean i use the PMDG 737-700 With FS Passengers will it have any effect on any of these programs. Does active sky work with in the sim. Or do i have to start the program then bring it down have it work in the background.will this hafe any effect on loading a flight plan? I use fsbuild 2.2 to make my flight plan then i send the flight plan from there to the FMC in the PMDG and the MSFS 2004. Will there be a problem doing this. is it possible for the people with lower end systems, to give us already the dtx clouds for AS, and not with the update. Just a question because i don't know how far you are in the process.And how far are you going to resize the clouds?regardsrick

After a thorough search here and in other forums I believe there may be a problem when using the Level-D 767 or PMDG 747-400 with ASV. Some who have experienced this problem said that the "fix" is to remove the feature that causes the weather to scroll across the screen when requesting an ATIS. I have this feature disabled and still (after a total system rebuild) have the problem.After starting FS9.1 and loading either of the two mentioned aircraft all is well initially. After task-switching to the desktop to "Refresh AI" in ASV I task-switch back to FS9.1 and the ATC text box is empty (ATC is still working, I just can't see the text in the box). I run ActiveSky V on a second PC using WideFS. My main computer runs WinXP but the second one is Win98 (it's an older machine). ASV works great for awhile but eventually the Win98 machine seems to lose its network connection and I get an "Error 59" message to that effect. When I check Network Neighborhood, sure enough the FS CPU is no longer listed. Other computers on my network are still connected though. I have to reboot the Win98 machine - usually twice to get the connection back. I don't fault ASV for this but wonder if anyone has any idea why this would happen. Thanks!David

HiFirst thanks for a great program, this is definitly the best add on for enhancing my FS experiemce.I recently started using IVAO and I'm not sure if I need to change my Active Sky settings. I searched the Forum and now I'm confused. I understand that IVAO does not allow AS to interface with their software, Does this mean Active Sky will not work on IVAO?I read some where else that I should disable the weather feed on IVAO?Any thoughts?

A few weeks ago I posted about a problem regarding haze and fog suddently appearing. It's in the following thread:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=20215&page=3I applied the recommended changes and it seemed to have cleared up the problem for a few weeks. Now it seems like it's suddenly returned. I load a flight at KLGA and then I wait a few moment for ASV to loadup the online weather. Moments later the weather will load and I will see some wonderful cloud textures. While I'm still sitting on the runway about a couple of minutes later the entire sky goes grey. I've tried this at several airports and first it loads up what looks to be nice looking weather…

Ciao,I fly on line connecting on IVAP..and using ASV5...but i realize that the weather ASV downloads isn't as the real one...For instance I get qnh different from the one that SERVINFO metar gives me...I guess that ServInfo gets the weather from a different server that ASV has...My question is:is it possible to get ASV to download the same metar ServInfo has??This is to avoid that controllers in IVAP give me different metar that I get from ASV...ServInfo seems having the most recent and real metar conditions than ASV,,:((Any help....??PAco

I may have missed something in the manual but if I create a flight normally with PMDG 737NG, I load the route in the New Route option of ASV and process the route. I then print out the Nav Log so I know what the en-route winds are at my planned flight level and the expected Magnetic Heading. When I fly the route the actual winds at my planned FL are normally 20 - 40 degs out and up to 20 kts speed difference. I get the wind information both from the cockpit display and pressing Shift-Z.Why does the actual wind never match the ASV Flight Log ?Glen

Hello, although i'm a real big fan of active sky, this is already the third time i am writing on this issue, the former times I resolved the problem by reinstalling the whole package, which is somehow a pain. Active radar after a certain time always stops displaying rain and snow, even if it is mentioning rain and precipitation in the tracking reports of active radar, specially after not authorized gauges from freeware planes are trying to access fsuipc and were denied access. I suspect somehow there is a connection between the two things ( who I have to enter an Authorization code into fsuipc to fix that or how could it be resolved, in fact the weather radar is one…

I am just curious to know how the weather system works when flying online? I would like to purchase this weather program but I would like to know how it handles online? Also does it effect frame rates?

Guys, I've updated the AS to B193, and downloaded v 3.48 of FSUIPC.dll, but when I try and install it, I get a message telling me to remove the existing from Modules/ActiveSky2004, or when I try to extract the file to the Modules folder, it asks me for a Password???I'm totally lost with the message I get saying to transfer the .dll file from the Modules/AS2004 folder to the FS9 Modules folder. I can only see ONE file called Modules under FS9 in Windows Explorer, and under this is two sub-folders: AS2004 and Active Radar.I've searched the forums for an answer, and the one response I could find didn't seem to help much.I've got my AS upgrade, and my FSUIPC upgrade, but can'…

I really would like some advice on this issue, i did a few long haul flights already and although i know how to get my flight plan fuel needed and adding the extra fuel because of strong headwinds, i haven't completed my flights due to insufficent fuel.Here is the problem i'm using the asv wx report when creating a flight to see the winds and speed, i'm using the average at the bottom but its not helping me. I revised my schematic to load fuel and everything comes back to the strong winds that burned my extra fuel, all else was correct i checked quite a few times.Any ideas on this issue i'm having?IS there a tip out there when adding more how much is safe based on the ac…

Hi guys was there afix to spinning clouds and what about the sudden changes of wind direction and speed over the atlantic ocean??I thought ASV fixed this stuff, it is still reporting from a wx station 600 nm away, what happened to satelites giving us this info and not only wx radars?

When I call Active radar in FS9 full screen mode it shows up at first.After being initialized and minimized it dissappears.When I try subsequently to recall it by the key shortcut or trough the file menu it does not appear anymore in FS9 full screen mode.However it appears in FS9 windowed mode so the only thing I can do is to swith to windowed mode to have a look at it. No way to have it displaying in FS9 full screen mode again ???? Any idea as this is more then annoying.Txs in advance for any valuable reply,Frederic

I am looking to see if I am in fact the cause of a couple of things that keep happening with ASV. But before that the authors of ASV, FSEnvironment, and UT-USA need to be congratulated for what, at least in my opinion, the best upgrade to FS9 I have seen.One thing is the often mentioned hazy conditions-it must be said that the recent real weather (at least for eastern half of the US) has been causing a lot of real haze recently.The other thing I get sometimes I do not read that much in the applicable forums-sort of my own special little deal.
