Hello, Is there a way for me to download the weather files without using the ASV download function? The reason I ask is - if I am on another PC, or at work, can I get these files? If so, how do I go about doing it, and can I still (somewhere) specify the parameters for time, date, multiple, etc...? Thanks much,Neil :-)

Hi guys,Ok, I've read the manual, set my options, etc. etc. I just want to get a consensus on the best way to start ASV to get the maximum benefit when starting a flight.My startup options are all on at present (incl. start paused and un-pause with FS Ready), I use online updates, and AE is set as ICS + Random Sky/Env with Autosave Theme on Submit.Here's what I typically do:1.) Start ASV2.) Hit New Route and put in the appropriate info (I don't use FS Flight Plans... too much of a pain to work with in FS9) and click process.3.) Hit refresh to let it DL the weather and I guess set the AE textures in FS.4.) Start FS and go flying.Good? Bad? Indifferent?Any suggestions appr…

Hi everyone, I noticed when using my Active Radar on the LD-767 that it took my frames down from a locked 25, to a painfull 8. I have not tried to use it (as I only fly 757/767's with LD-767 panel) on another plane, but will try in a ga plane asap. My question is, even after I closed the radar, the frames never came back. Also tried selecting a new flight, but the frames were still at 8. I had to restart FS9 to get back to normal performance. What can I do here, as I really would like to view the precip info??Any help is kindly appreciated,Thanks!Neil :-)

Good day.I just purchased and installed (and used for the first time) ActiveSky 2004.5, and I was extremely impressed. Good jog to the team.I do have a question about the voive ATIS. I switched my comm2 radio to the required frequency (122.00), switch on both comms, and was getting the weather report with no problem. However, when I switched to a different frequency to discontinue ATIS, the voice report kept on going until it was done. Usually, for reality's sake, once you switch the frequency, it should cut out shouldn't it?I also would turn off both coms to deactivate comm2 and just monitor comm1, and ATIS would still keep going (in both male and female voice). Its always so glass smooth,Ive tried diffrent settings in ASV options,I have weather turned off in FSUIPC,all settings are correct in msfs9 for ASV weather,I use online updates,weather is correct where ever in the world I go,I chase the winds trying to find turbulence but always so smooth.not at all like it is when I fly for real,I must have a setting wrong somewhere?

Can ASV (I still have 4.5) be set up so that everything is automatic? I want the AE portion to pick clouds, haze, etc... based on the current metar automatically. Can this be done? I don't want to be tied to one set of clouds or haze. Thanks.

I would really like to use ASV with the Golden Wings second FS9 installation. Is it possible to have two installations of ASV on different partitions and if so, how might I go about this? Any help would be really appreciated. I tried to install normally, but it was a no-go as it would only recognize FS9.

Hi everyone,Just purchased widefs ( already have a full version of FSUIPC )and would like to have ASV running on my laptop feeding weather to FS on my main desktop. This seems straight forward but wait . . . .The wife sometimes uses the laptop and therefore I wouldn't be able to run ASV accross 2 computers. Is it possible to have the program installed for both scenarios ie single or dual computer use. Is it also not infringing any software licence to have the proggy running on both computers albeit at different times.Hope you can help,Keep up the good work guys - great program

Hi all,Everytime I fly, on apporach everything will be going great, then at 200ft it never fails, my plane gets smacked to the right and pushed downward. The perfect example was on approach to Burbank this evening, the winds were 00000KT or "calm" and sure enough everything was going swell, when the "hand of God" smacked my airplane again!It's absolutely driving me crazy. What can I do to fix this, and please tell me I'm not the only one who has this problem.Thanks,Jeff

Anyway of getting an option that can allow a certain visibility at or over a certain altitude to be changed, example below 10 000 30 miles limit and over 10 001 ft 59 mi visibility?Hope it makes sense!!

I have ASV, so am I cleared to go to add/remove programs and delete AS2004 4.5 and it won't cause any issues? I've had ASV since it came out and I think I would have deleted the last version if I knew it wasn't going to be a headache, but I guess something tells me it's going to be. Although I have got lovely clouds with ASV, I have also got horizontal white sheets with no thickness. I have got "Normal Defaults" and registered FSUIPC 3.50 with "Weather Settings off".Could you please suggest what setting I need to cure this.David.

Maybe this topic has been dealed with before here but i could not find it. It happens intermittently that fs9 doesn't start up anymore. It doesn't even reach the fs9.cfg then because deleting that file doesn't have any effect. If i delete it and start fs9 again, it just recreates a new fs9.cfg with a size of 0 kb and then fs9 quits again.I've been searching a lot of forums about this till by coincidence i found out that when i remove ASV, fs9 starts up fine again without any problems.Then i reinstall ASV and everything works fine for some time again (can be a few days till a few weeks). Hi all-I just did a reinstall of FS9 on another drive and all is well except for AS. I'm using Version 1.1 with the MR1 service pack. When I try to limit cloud layers to 3, 2 or even one, I see what looks like 4. I'm using FE with the latest version of FSUIPC. I love all the clouds but not the 10fps. Any suggestions on where that secret button is?? :>)Thanks,Mark

I like the new ASV and the clouds generally are very convincing IMHO.However flying at 15,000 (tho' it happens with other heights) I often see mist in the valleys which looks more like a milky jelly (or Jello!) has been poured in!Milky because it is dead smooth and semi-transparent with irregular but smooth edges.Jelly because the edge is constantly shaking, quite fast and by about 5 miles on the ground! It looks most UNconvincing and for the time it is in view completely spoils the realism.I also still get cloud changes 'banging in' when the weather data is updated. I would like to see a smooth change over at least a few seconds.Any help/advice would be welcomed.ThanksNi…

Winds reported FL340: 346/115 (-51.7)!!!But im getting winds at some direction at 4 knots! Im flying on VATSIM. I have SB3 weather disabled. I remember seeing on one of the stickied threads some new sunset textures that looked pretty great. They were not included in SU2 but you said it would be released in a future update? I was wondering if you guys had and plans or news on that update yet. Hi gang,I thought you might want to take a look at this... I have purhased an aircraft that allows me to fly at FL400 and above... On a typical flight today I was at FL510 and surrounded by cumulus! Is this normal? I know that thunder heads can reach extream heights but I don't think that this is very realistic... Is there a way that you can limit this some how so that cumulus will only appear below a certain alt then the rest would be mild cirrus? Can I please have your comments? Keep up the great work.

However I do not use FS9 flightplans (well, there is a big problem with FS9 nav database - you can not update it when some new navpoints in the real life are introduced!). I use some external flightplaning utilities.The problem is that, as far as I know, I HAVE TO LOAD A FS9 FLIGHTPLAN to use VATSIM weather data (correct me, if I'm wrong...)Well, the procedure is for me now quite complicated... Hi folks, got a bit of a problem here. I bought the upgrade version of ASV from AS2004 not long after it came out, but to clean up disk space, I deleted the install file after downloading it. (Yeah, I know, I'm an idiot. I'm also an idiot with only a 40 GB hard drive and very little free space.) Well, I've had to re-install FS2004, and that leaves me with no way to re-install ASV because I deleted the file. My order is on file with HiFi, and I have my receipt and order emails saved, but obviously the download link from June has expired, and it wouldn't work anyway because AS2004.5 is no longer installed on my system.Should I just contact Jim or somebody else at Hifi …
