I mostly fly the LDS767, while in cruise the 767 throttle adjustments to compensate for wind changes while or VNAV are a bit annonying.. I was wondering if in 'real life' this is the way it is. I think I do have enabled wind smoothing somewhere in FSUIPC or ASV.. but still see this happening.. any advice?

HiI always wondered and never knew or decided rather if i should have dxt textures or not, honestly as in all other textures i have never seen a difference in performance for this issue alone, there is so many other issues and reasons performance can change even on the same testing field.So my question is should i or not, any specific question besides performance should I ask myself to make this decision, should specific systems have DXT textures a MUST? Default options say % for vas is 50 but its really 30 % on my pc just letting you guys know, not a big deal obviously.So what setting do others use for this is 30 a good number or 50?EDIT: correction vas was set at 50% for B360 not B366, 366 should be at 30%.Also where is the hold TAT temperatures option which was spoken about in other threads, for users that had problems with oceanic flights?Sorry i forgot the term for this. I run ASV on the main Flying PC mostly to randomize textures and to check weather on the planning stage before a flight.On the Non Flying PC (which is Laptop connected to FS9 via WideClient) I also run ActiveSky to inject weather in FS9.. Now, the standard version I downloaded for ActiveSky which I purchased like a week ago did NOT gave me more 'Your FS9 folder is invalid' after I saved the configuration options in the options menu. The Enhanced RC6 version, regardless of SAVING the OPTIONS keeps the annoyning message poping up every time I launch ActiveSky in my laptop.. is this a bug? or a feature?

Hello,I love your product, I "fly" the B363 and 64x64 resolution with pleasure.Up to now I never did try the DXT textures. My system is a bit "old" and I try fo increase the FPS and performances. What is the best way to "try" these new DXT textures AND come back to the "non-DXT" in case there is a negative impact on the performances?Thanks in advance

Hi gang,Small comment about imported routes... When you import an FS9 flight plan then correct the weather the average winds are calculated for the weather that was loaded with the flight plan not the one you just changed to. Keep up the great work!

Hi,I do not have the ICS+Random option selected, just the one that says 'Random', i read the manual but it's not clear if every time I start the program I'll have to press the submit button to install active environment textures or will they install and submit automatically?

I have had this happen before, but it was a result of FS Sky World placing a bad texture in my FS folder. I no longer use FSSky world, but do use ASv, and cant help but think its related to ASv. With FS Skyworld it only happened when I used on eof their moon and or night sky textures. With ASv I use the "random generator" for the environment settings.The ground textures at night are so dark, I cant see anything but vague runway and taxiway lights. I have a pretty strange question for you... I recently moved and now the computer I have FS installed on is unable to connect to the internet. This is trouble since I can no longer download weather through ASV for use in FS.I have a laptop, however, that can connect to the internet. The trouble is, this laptop is an Apple computer and not a PC (So I can't just install ASV on it and copy the downloaded files over).I was wondering, is there a way in which I can connect directly to the ASV weather servers via an internet browser or FTP client on my Apple laptop to directly download the METAR data? Then I can just copy them to my PC via an ethernet cable.Is this possible? …

I might be wrong about this, but to me it seems both winds and temps are to high above this flightlevel.From what I understand ASV extends the FL390 winds and temps up to FL500, and another layer at 80000ft.By looking at forecasts for FL450 and FL600+ the winds and temps at FL450 are to high. I know that the temp rises again above a certain point. Comparing to ASV temp and wind speed at FL500 the temps are around 5C to high, and winds are 10-30kt to high.So my questions would be. Are there no sources for winds above FL390? If not, would it be possible to program some randomness, within the averages I found, into the flightlevels above this and add more layers?JT

When you fly with VATSIM weather, and you fetch a report for example for planing your landing, the fetch report shows the real weather insteed the VATSIM weather of the requested station.Is this a bug or is that right and the problem is on my site ...Thanks,Richard

Hey guys, I have recently downloaded ASV and am conducting my first flight using the PMDG 737NG.The weather appears to be operating normally however the Departure and Arrival stations are slightly out. Specifically what I am experiencing is:*** Departure airport differs from the departure station identified in the wx Report.*** Arrival airport differs from the arrival station identified in the wx Report*** When I do a fetch report on either the departure or arrival airport I get the correct wx station report*** Voice ATIS on 122.0 reads out the incorrect station.*** On the main screen the destination is reporting at a distance of over 8600nm despite the sector being only …

I am using asv 5 Build 325 with Flight Environment clouds.I notice lately some instances of what are clearly cumulus clouds with bases at 16,000-to as high as 25,000 feet. These are tall and puffy, not flat.I have the box favor cumulus over status unchecked.This is occuring with situations where there are multiple layers portrayed. My machine can handle unlimited layers just fine, so I do not limit layers.Don't recall this with ASV 4.5.Is there an issue with the logic of cloud selection that is causing this unrealistic scenario?I have not tried the new beta upgrade yet.Thanks,Greg

Hi,I have ASV with the latest beta installed and a registered FSUIPC (v350 30-08-2005).But I'll get a FS Disconnected message whatever I do. I reinstalled the full ASV installer without additional betaupgrade. I reinstalled FSUIPC completely but still getting this horrible message. Hi,I made this post yesterday but it never appeared so I apologise if there is a duplicate somewhere.I am a AS2004.5 user and am looking at upgrading to ASV. One of my biggest concerns is the density of weather stations in my area. I do a bit of flying to smaller regional airports (but not tiny) and a lot of the time, the weather that activesky uses is taken from a larger airport over 100nm away resulting in very different conditions from those observed in the metars from VATSIM.I wonder if someone could send me or post a list of the ICAO codes for which weather is served by ASV so I can make a decision as to whether or not I upgrade. Thanks Chris for the new 128x128 textures. With mips & dxt enabled I can now set most of my fs9 cloud settings to the max with little performance hit...plus the clouds look great too!! :D

Hi allI am seeing severe performance hits when Active Sky 5 is updating weather and writting to disk, I fly the premier1 jet and have suppression set to 10000 ft, perhaps I have something misconfigured even when taxing out things were at a stand still but when the weather finally finished writing all was sweet, incidently I am on a 28k connection (all flying done in Australia) which could be causing the severe stutters when weather is loading however active Sky 5 is running at 92 percent processor time, anybody have any ideas on how I can solve this, all runs superb until the weather re loads during the flight then very stuttery until weather loads, thanks to anybody who…

Dear friends,I have some problems updating my asv. I downloaded the 512 textures and tryed to install them. The installation was aborted with the following message: ASV must be installed! But ASV IS installed???? I also downloaded the new enhanced update and get the same abortion duting installation.What is wrong???

After I installed B363 RC4 my online updates stopped working?! It tries to download but does not suceed, "will try again at next update interval"...Normally Norton IS ask me if I want to allow certain programs access to the internet but not this time (and I looked up ASV in Norton that it is allowed also).I can fetch weather manually but the weather seems to be a couple of hours delayed (3-4 hours for ESSL).Wake turbulence should be off as default but it is on in my ASV?!Auto VAS should be preset to 30% but it is on 40% in my ASV?!EDIT: Manual D/L does not work either, "Time Out Error"
