This is a strange one.I have noticed that when tuning into 122.0 to get the weather enroute and for the destination, there seems to be a bug.I just flew into EGPO (Stornoway) looking for bad weather. I tuned to 122.0 about 50 miles out to get the weather (there is no ATIS frequency at EGPO) and the voice told me that there was a ceiling (ie broken/overcast - or else it would be cloud base) of broken at 018 (BKN018CB) but the text then scrolled accross saying FEW018CB.I have noticed on several occasions that the voice does not match the text display.On arriving, I believe that the text was telling the truth, not the voice.

HiWhat do i need to download there was the asv enhancement file which is no longer here, is the B363 an update of that file therefore all i need is this build 363 to update ASV. Currently i'm at B 325 without the upgrade (asv enhancements).I'm asking because i've been off line for about a week or so, and alot seems to have happened here.Thanks!

Just purchased ASV upgrade version and am unable to download!Four attempts (Anti virus/Firewall off.) each time zip is incomplete (only 8Mb/65Mb.) Also very slow, 49 Kb on a 2MB BB connection. Computer has now been tied up for several hours! Not a happy bunny! :-violin Regards,Gustav.

I had some troubles getting archive weather when upgrading to B360. I kept getting a "Hour __z not available/incomplete download... continuing to next..." message when trying to download. I did a couple traces and it looks like when connecting to datanet2.hifisim.com it is not finding the files. For instance, a get of URI "/datanet2/archives/2005/09/25/20050925_21Z_archive.dat" yields a 404 (NotFound) response.If I force the use of the primary server it appears everything goes through just fine. Are the archives not setup on the secondary server?Eric

Hi.I installed the 128X128 textures today and everything seemed to go OK. However, when I run ASV and go to the Active environment page, there is no option to select the 128X128 textures under the Resolution box.The only ones listed are the:512 x 512 (32)256 x 256 (32)64 x 64 (32)So where are the 128 x 128?There is a folder in the E:Flight Simulator 9ModulesASVActiveEnvironment3D Clouds Texture that shows 128 x 128 32 bits, but there is no radio button or listing in the ASV program to actually select the 128 cloud textures.Was the 128 X 128 setup program supposed to take care of this or is there something else I need to do to be able to access the 128 textures?Scott

Hello there!I've got this litle problem and I think it is related with ASV when trying to updating and reloading the weather while flying. I have a broadband connection and it never disconnected from the internet that I know so far. Althougth, I have been doing many long-haul flights with the PMDG744 and last night I was flying from EGLL to VHHH and the connection just dropped down. After that occurrence I just had to check back often the connection by alt-tabbing. And I must say that is a bit of annoying because I was affraid the connection will drop again and no more updates to the weather. Subject says it all, I can look at the VATSIM weather via ServInfo, but what ASV tells me is always an hour behind that. Thanks to everyone for developing and testing ASV5!!!! EXCELLENT PRODUCTI have the latest enhanced build installed but the 512 by 512 button is greyed out. I have downloaded and installed the 512 clouds. The button was active until I installed the enhanced build. I also goofed up when I installed the 512 textures, ASV5 WAS OPEN AT THE TIME.1. It's been difficult because I've come in to an airport with the wind in the wrong direction. About the same time I updated Active Skyy 5 with the Beta, it seems I have lost the radar display. I get all the data on the Tracking side, but just the wind on the radar display, no precip indication. Any ideas on what I should look for?

I installed the ASV Enhanced and the the 128x128.After that I disabled the MIPS and the DXT to be able to convert the 128x128 as the other (512x512, 256x256 and 64x64).During this phase the 128x128 is not selectable (greyed out).After this I enabled the MIPS and the DXT and the 128x128 was not greyed out any more.But after selecting the 128x128 I got a lot of error messages (do not remember all of them but some was about converting to MIPS and one was about the check the install folder for something?).And now the 128x128 is not selectable again (greyed out).Any suggestions how to approach this?

Hello Chris, Jim, or DamienIn one of the post in the dedicated 512Texture thread someone asked for clarification of whether to install each set individually or unzip all three to the same folder and run the setup just once. However the readme's in the zips I just downloaded from the links on the Activesky site, download page, which takes you to the Avsim Library for the download, say to install each one seperately. The readme's and the setup file in all 3 zips have 6/14/2005 as the last date modified. However in the post in the 512 Texture thread ( I believe it's dated6/22/05. I don't know whether it is because of release 360 or that I simply just never saw it yet before but i was amazed how fog/clouds combine with mountains. It was on a flight to San Fransisco, just started descend, sunset, flying over some mountains and it just looked amazing. I installed ASV last evening and ran it for the first time. This morning, when I rebooted the system, I cannot run ASV. When I click on the icon ASV WX ENGINE, it startsby displaying "Please wait while windows configuers ASV". Past 2 days I reloaded windows XP sp1, FS9 on a freshly formatted hard drive. I have registered FSUIPC and WideFS .5 versions and when I reinstall ASV on my laptop with wideFS everything seems to go fine, ASV loads, pauses then starts on refresh, loads weather into FS9 on main pc but when I try to changs anything in Active Environment and click Submit button I get the above error 'Error on submit....Folder "mymainpcname"Flight Simulator 9". I been flying around the gulf in a C130 tracking trying to track the hurricane path. Using ASV build 360. I taking it that FS9 can't display a hurricane correctly or ASV can't simulate the correct the correct weather. AS far as hurricanes goes.At one point AS was showing correct winds and metar reports but it displayed broken clouds and sun.Bill M:-)

When I try to download an archived file, after entering the appropriate date/time/utc hour, all I ever get is "conecting to hi-fi" etc...But if I change the parameters to reflect "Current" file, it downloads right away. I have tried this about a dozen times. I usually am only looking to go back a few hours earlier in the day so I can simulate an appropriate departure flight from earlier in the day, then a current download for my turnaround flight back home. I just downloaded the new 128x128x32 cloud resolution files and when I go into the "Active Environment" interface and look under "resolution" I only see the 512x512x32, 256x256x32, and 64x64x32 sets. Where might the 128x128x32 be? Also, under the FS9modulesASVActiveEnvironment3D Clouds texture I have the 128x128x32 textures.
