Hmmm,I've searched the forum for this issue but could not really find an answer. My problem is this; on arrival to an airport i get for example from tower this altimeter, 3003. However, when i look at the activeradar tracking window (the 'large one') and select my arrival data, i notice an altimeter of 3002. The "miniwindow" of activeradar, selected to show 'tracking', shows 3001... (All for the same station!)Sometimes these values differ even more than these. Which one to believe?:) When i check the navlog of ASV it shows 1016... Can it be that it goes wrong during conversion somewhere?I've tried within fsuipc to switch pressure smoothing on and off, it made no difference…

This flightsim forum topic covers a display card setting in FS9.cfg that affects the appearance of fog. It regards a fog table setting that determines a pixel or vertex implementation of the effect.I also note that my nVidia card driver settings also mention a fog table parameter.See the screenshots and info here:http://forums.flightsim.com/dc/dcboard.php...id=141003&page=

Hi All, My question concerns the file that is downloaded when downloading an archive. Does this file contain world wide data and the relevant part then loaded when the flightplan is loaded and processed or are the archives location specific. That is, are there different archive files for any given time for different locations and therefore the location needs to be known before downloading the downloading.Regards,Shally

I was wondering if there are any screenshots comparing the 512x512 and the 256x256 cloud textures used by ASV.

First of all I want to make clear I have used all AS versions and I really liked the previous ones, but ASV is a total new dimension which makes flying much more enjoyable. My problems are two:1) I can't set the suppresion rate at less than 100. If I want to set it at any value higher ASV immdiately resets it to 50. This is not big deal if flying over America or Europe, since weather stations are close enough, but when I fly the Pacific for example, I have those nasty and ugly sudden changes in weather. I read in the manuals that it is possible to set suppresion to values way higher than 100, but so far I can't make it do it. Am I doing anythyng wrong?2) Hurricane weather:…

Im just trying to improve as best i can performance but without too much depreciation in the visualsThanks

i've kept my textures for the longest time since i was happy with them but is there a specific set or setting that makes the clouds puffier or more depth to them. or are all clouds like sheets of paper, i would like thicker clouds. As far as udpating textures, what do i need to do? Do i just click random and make sure the update tab is clicked for the settings i want updated? And then i have to click submit all right?thanks!

I have had some issue with landing smaller twins and singles over the last month or so, dont know why. It seems that I just cant get these planes slowed on final like I used too. I started an email thread with the folks over at areoworx (B200 fame) as it is really pronounced with their recent upgrade.Well, they suggested that I try not running ASV, and you know what, it seemed to help. Question: is this my imagination?

After having tried out pretty much everything to get rid of the sometimes heavy fog haunting me on take-off as well as on landing at some airports, to no avail, I tried out FlightSim Manager for other reasons, which also has a fog fix for the FS9 weather.dllHere's the explanation from the FlightSim Manager help file:"There is a minor bug in FS2004 weather.dll, which cause a strange fog effect with Metric METAR data and when there are some clouds in the area. This 10 mile or less visibility bug in which visibility haze mutates unrealistically into an inpenetrable overcast. If real-world weather reports visiblity of 10 miles or less, you would get an overcast sky even when …

Couple nights ago I flew to "I don't remember where :-badteeth", and on final, the wind in the Aeroworx HSI indicated a 4 knot headwind that according to the arrow was almost a perfect headwind. I was still drifted off course, so I checked the Shift-Z and it was about 15 degrees to the right. I assume this is a true vs magnetic thing, but which one determines the direction the wind is actually blowing??

I've tried several days now and at my local airport the runway in use is runway 24R or 24L in real life and fs9 keeps showing 06L and 06R in use, i don't understand it. All those flights i did and fs9 can't give me the right runway what can be the cause of this?My local weather site shows S,SW winds at 15 kts and active sky V is showing winds at 205 at 10 kts which are correct as far as wind direction goes, temperature is right on and pressure is right as well. But Fs9 still gives me a tailwind takeoff i don't get it, I'm really really confused. I've cleared my temporary internet files in case but nothing is helping it always gives me 06L or R and its not like 24L or R we…

HiA happy ASV user here with no problems.I have a question though regarding the weather conditions at the arrival airport and how that affects the rwy in use for that airport. When I start a flight (having loaded a flight plan, refreshed the weather and AI traffic), I note down the ARR airport conditions. There are times when I arrive at my destination and the conditions have changed of course, but the selection of rwy in use by ATC is not clear. My question is: Is the rwy in use at destination selected according to the initial weather conditions (ie when I start the flight), or does the ATC determine which rwy will be in use when I get to a closer vicinity of the airport (…

I recently started flying on Vatsim and am hooked on it. My question is , how should I set ASV as far as weather updates. Should I select both the online updates in ASV and Vatsim updates, or just the Vatsim updates ?

Due to a mistake on my part (don't ask :-) ) I had to reinstall ASV. I reset all my options, including no text messages. However when I first start a flight I get a scrolling text message giving the "Nearest METAR report" I usually have Online updates disabled, but use TAF processing. When ASV updates using the TAF I also get a new scrolling message. Didn't have this until after the reinstall. Any ideas on how to get this turned off? Thanks. Mike

I recently installed ASV and am trying to enable Mip Maps. The instructions say that I must have imagetool.exe in my ASVActive Environment folder. I have downloaded imagetool but I can't find an ASVActiveEnvironment folder. I have an ASV folder, but ActiveEnvironment is not in it, or anywhere else for that matter when using "Search."Any help would be appreciated.Bob
